Nothing Stood out

The staff were not exactly a welcoming bunch although the lady when I initially arrived did welcome me. The restaurant was closed and we wern't sure if the bar was open about 8.30 ish. The bar manager seem to have most lights off and sat on his own.

Helpful staff and friendly attitude, simple but functional room and accessories.

Luckily I had a print out of my reservation as the manageress had no record of us, which may be the reason that the room we were given was not fresh and the bed linen was stained and dirty.

The food was not good enough. The breadfast' bread was mildewy.

No issues

Room was clean and freshly pointed as was the rest of the hotel. Gurka restaurant attached/next door very good.

Bedspread was somewhat tired and dated - better with just a plain white duvet cover. Bacon at breakfast appeared to be deep fried - strage experience.

The Gurkhas Restaurant was very good,. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was great.

Cheerful and very competant manager (Australian Paul). Full marks for his personal service. The Gurkha Restaurant facility very smart, but, other than fish-and-chips, for me a seemingly serious shortage of traditional 'English' dish options. The Indian dish I tried did not impress me (but my travelling pal was more than pleased with his). Very pleasant location, and quiet at night. Full English breakfast, however, was excellent value, as was the overall experience. Recommended!

Having to travel between buildings to get from the bedrpoom section to the lounge and Restaurant section. Not too much of a problem in summer (I was visiting in August) but I would have been dejected at the thought of walking between them in the midst of winter weather.

The cleanliness. Option of English or Indian food in the restaurant. Ideal location for easy access near a major a road and to various towns, villages and countryside. Ample parking spaces. Efficient staff. Spacious room. Very good value for money.

The tv took a long time to reset channels. E.G. Upon entering the room and turning on the tv, it would take 15minutes (approx) before you could start actually seeing programmes, and even if you went out of the room for a few minutes, you would have to go through this waiting period again because when you left the room you had to remove your door key card from the electricity, which turned the tv off.

The Restaurant served Indian food which was very good, the breakfast was simple but did the job well. The layout of the hotel was good and the room was well laid out.

The Full English Breakfast was not so good, more heated food than fresh cooked. The bedding was well warn, clean but a bit tired.
