Room was excellent-recently refurbed, I think. When they saw my husband had Walking stick, they offered us ground floor room. Breakfast very good-- perfect scranbled eggs!!!

It’s looking tired but it’s the gateway to lots of other places. Plymouth is within reach maybe 40mins by car. The prison has the attraction of the museum with guided tours which are great fun The prison, now hotel is absolutely wonderful. Great gala night for new year with the best food ever. The Bodmin folk are so friendly and will advise on where to eat to suit your budget. The Eden project is a great trip to make even on a rainy day. There are do many places to suit any pocket don’t forget Looe such a pretty place

Was visiting a sick relative in the hospital & hotel very convenient for that. Have always been in transit elsewhere so didn't know the town well. So attractive and clean. Very friendly people who readily helped direct or help in other ways. I have relatives who came from Probus and Devonshire so visited both counties from 1946 onwards and think changes by and large sensitive and well carried out. The beauty of the county and rural nature has been largely preserved and if controlled population increase measures are sympathetically controlled, the character of the county ought to be preserved along with its beauty.

A great experience, the renovation work is amazing throughout the hotel! We only stayed there for 1 night but we would have liked to have spend more time. Bodmin was a really good distance from all the places I wanted to visit and I knew there was road works (till 2024) on the road further south and didn’t want to be stuck on the road whilst on a long drive anyway .

We went to the Eden Project for half a day and enjoyed the biodomes. We spent a day at Lanhydrock House, looking around the house and we walked miles around the estate. We also hired bikes through Saint Piran Cafe (and bike hire shop), the staff were excellent and we loved the 18 mile round trip on the bikes, followed by a drink in the cafe afterwards. We also enjoyed a pizza from Dominos in Bodmin and the best fish and chips from Welcome Stranger in Lanivet, near Bodmin, we would absolutely recommend this place for a fantastic meal!JulieUnited Kingdom

The accommodation was spacious, very well equipped and included a henry hoover, decent kitchenware, airers, fan, welcome pack and even an umbrella. The bed was comfortable, lots of linen was provided and it all felt clean. The area was peaceful but centrally located for sightseeing around Cornwall. There was a really useful information sheet showing details of local beaches and postcodes. we would certainly return and not hesitate to recommend to friends.

Without asking we were then allocated a room right by the parking space which was very much appreciated. We were welcomed on arrival and staff at breakfast were very cheery and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and provided all we needed and for once, lots of sachets of milk :) Bathroom was lovely and shower was easy to use. Good location - very close to Bodmin town centre and local pubs/restaurants.

There has obviously been alot of investment to transform the place into the hotel. Very friendly and helpful member of staff that greeted us at check-in and ensured the room was suitable for us and our dog. Very spacious rooms and prompt room service late at night when everything else is shut in the town. Our dog slept really well too!

The hotel itself is very quirky and a unique experience. The rooms are spacious and well laid out. There are little bits missing, silly things like a box of tissues, some biscuits with the coffee etc. These sound pedantic, but when you pay for luxury these are the little extra bits that you come to expect.
