Casual atmosphere, friendly service, excellent food

Dripping tap in bathroom. No shower gel or conditionerl

It was clean and comfortable with en suit shower room, and all I needed for a one night stop. Staff were very good and helpful.Car parking was simple and convenient.

I had to ask for a brighter buld in the bedside light as I could not see to read. The problem was nicely solved.

The breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and efficient.

My room was just above the bar and at the top of the main stairs so was very noisy at times.

Very outdated and scruffy. Shower was poor. Old furnishings etc - could do with a significant facelift. Price was also over 80% more expensive than before Christmas.

Rate charged quite economical

Single room bed is small, given less comfort for maximum relaxation.

Lack of facilities (not even water available - when we requested water we were given expensive glass bottled water) Shower did not work properly Shabby décor Breakfast appalling (very small for a 'full English breakfast' Our comments made on leaving regarding facilities (particularly the noisy draught excluder which rattled all night) were met with disregard Bed and breakfast locally would have probably provided better value for money and a friendlier feel. To be honest this is the first time we have felt it necessary to make such comments. It felt like just a money making venture rather then a homely place to stay

My room was above the kitchen and the floor vibrated to the point of being nauseating! Very dated in appearance.

The heating was broken and there was a fit in the pipes which made much noise. The fridge was broken so there was no smoked salmon. Hotel is a little bit expensive for the comfort which seemed olddays.

The kindness of the staff.

Our room was above the bar and there was so much noise we could not sleep. After the bar closed the waitresses were being very loud when packing things away.

Friendly, comfortable, very good food, pleasant location.

Poached eggs for breakfast.

Attentiveness and efficiency of staff. The food was very good. Themed nights. The location was excellent for what we wanted.

There was an inoperative bedside lamp and a leaky tap. We were served food by staff who had just been smoking ( only once though and there was no smoky odour ).

Hotel staff were friendly and we were well looked after. Breakfast was great. We also had dinner the first night and that was really good. Had bath and shower in our room

Room was a bit cold for my husbands liking. Oxford was extortionate and we wouldn't go again

The people , were very welcoming, hardworking and pleasant, meal was excellent, choice of food excellent. Area superb. Wide spectrum of activities, throughout the week.

The price for the place, it was rather scruffy and lack of staff meant, they usualy too busy when attention was required, no bell to attract attention for check out check in etc. I awoke a few times at night, very cold. Surcharge charged, for charging evening meal to the room.

I did not get the room that I booked. Breakfast only served from 730am no good if you need to be some where. So did not get what I payed for. The bathroom needs an overall. Shower was terrible. I told the manager I thought I had booked into a differant hotel to the one I saw and booked into on line. I would never recommend it or stay there again.

Food is excellent: curries a speciality. Bar is pleasant place to hang out - nicely decorated, good atmosphere. Location is lovely, surrounded by trees and historic houses, and a short stroll (past a pub and community shop) down to the river.

The room decor was rather dated.

Food - an unusal mixture of different styles blending well together. Customer care was good.

Bed had no duvet just a blanket in freezing January and radiator did not work in room - had an electric fire as a temp solution. Not great.

The Hotel is located in the beatiful place of Iffly village and it's only 10 minutes by bus to city centre. The room was really big, and perfect for a couple, still if you're alone and need a good quiet rest - you'd like it as well. The bar on the 1st floor was sweet too.

The radiator didn't work, but there was an electric heater. Still a bit chilly if you like it +25 in the room.

Noise from the kitchen carried up into room which kept me awake for ages. Mattress fairly old, could feel the springs which was quite uncomfortable.

Location was good, as working at the venue during stay. Good parking. Easy but basic check-in.

No heating - room was very cold. When asked if heating was in in hotel reply was a straight forward 'No!'. Bed had hair in it - I'm still insure if bed had been changed, appeared 'tidy' but unconvinced it had been changed between clients staying over. Used conference facility - this had obviously been mid-managed as 38 course delegates were squashed down one side of the bar and course took place in busy, working lunch pub. Workmen and staff constantly walked through learning environment - not really professional or acceptable. The afternoon session was cancelled due to this!
