The hotel (a converted 18th century farmhouse) and surroundings are beautiful. The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. The food and service were excellent. One small thing - My room was in one of the converted outbuildings and the soundproofing was not particularly efficient. |

We had a wonderful welcome and our room was situated in an annex which was great for us as we had our dog with us, and we had great access to the local woods and grounds for walking the dog. They were very dog friendly. It would have been nice to have a hotel bar to relax and have a drink in, although room service was available, our room was too small to sit and have a drink in, we would have had to sit on the bed to drink it. |

The friendliness and concern of the owners Alistair and Debra to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and their willingness to give of their time to tell you the history of the hotel and its surroundings and what is happening in the area. Also the pleasant attitude of the staff. Both the hotel and its grounds are kept in an immaculate condition. |

Well designed rooms and very comfortable. The restaurant opffered a good variety and the food was well presented. There is no communal bar and it is a bit isolated. |

We did not have dinner at Trehellas due to travel schedule but greatly appreciated the breakfast - excellent menu, quality of food, friendly and efficient service. Perhaps the lack of a bar, but couldn't fault the the local ale provided. |

It is small, family run hotel with excellent service and food. The breakfasts are the best I've had in a hotel and the dinner menu has a great choice of fresh tasty food. You feel really well looked after in every way. It is ideally located to visit gardens, country houses and the wonderful beaches of both the north and south coasts of Cornwall. You are left wanting to go back! |

Visiting the gardens of Cornwall and enjoying the wonderful coastal and inland scenery made possible by the fine weather. Our 2 single rooms were in separate buildings- 1 upstairs and the other in an out building. Rooms were rather small. |

The room was very clean and homely, bed was very very comfortable, the manager was exceptionally friendly with everyone, very welcoming. The resturant has fantastic food (at a price) but non the less it was great, breakfast was also extensive. The first night the resturant was fully booked with a local function so we had to drive to the town, The ceiling in the cottage room we had, was thin as we heard everythng from the people above us, their conversation, going to the bathroom everything. |
