Located in the midst of the beautiful Cornish countryside, between Bodmin and Wadebridge, this charming hotel is a heritage-listed building, dating back to the early 18th Century. Situated in Washaway, Trehellas is a family-owned country house with real warmth and character, close to all that the county has to offer. A former courthouse, today the building still retains many of its beautiful original features, including the first floor’s Delabole slate floors and the external mounting block. Close to the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock, Padstow, Rock, Wadebridge and numerous other beautiful towns and sites in Cornwall, Trehellas is perfectly situated for walking, biking the famous Camel Trail, and exploring all that Cornwall has to offer. The hotel was very comfortable, clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Either the owner or his wife were on hand during the day and in the evening. The food in the restaurant was exceptionally good and we enjoyed breakfast because our choice was ordered by us and served individually unlike the big hotels with the buffet style breakfasts. Our room was in the coachhouse and although very comfortable, the big double bed did take up a lot of space. We only stayed 2 nights to cover our visit to the Eden Project before moving on but we certainly did enjoy our short stay.

There was a very friendly atmosphere at all times. We were unable to hear the other residents when we were in our room. The location was excellent being very easy to find and a good location to visit the surrounding tourist attractions. The hotel staff were very knowledgeable about the attractions which we found very useful. The food was very good and we would definitely book the hotel again.

Warm and sincere welcome by the staff, and a very inviting atmosphere from arrival. The room exceeded our expectations by far, and the evening meal was superb, although we opted for the very reasonably priced set 2 course meal option which at £15.00 was amazing value and included good fresh coffee with locally made fudge, as well as home baked bread to start. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked, and locally made jams and marmalades in addition. What a great find and amazing quality and value. We only had one night there!!

We stayed 3 nights including a surprise dinner for a friend with walking disabilities. The owners and staff were fantastic and could not be faulted. Food was excellent both in the evening and at breakfast. Hotel breakfast in the large warm and bright conservatory is a lovely feature particularly for a Cornish Hotel. Highly recommended. Note the hotel does not have a bar but is very welcoming and offers a full bar service in the lounge before and after dinner.

The staff were very helpful, polite & friendly. Trehellas was a good location for discovering Cornwall . The rooms were spotless with super comfy beds, there was also a fantastic informative pack letting you know all about the surrounding area and where the best places to eat & visit were . We ate both nights at the hotel as the food was absolutley fantastic.

A thoroughly well run and comfortable hotel. The staff in particular were charming, helpful and a real credit. We ate in the dining room on one evening, the food was excellent, but felt the wine was very overpriced @£16 for a basic white. On the other two evenings we had room service which was delivered to us, the room menu is very good and arrived hot and well presented. Breakfasts were a gastronomic decision making ordeal!!!!!!!!,the devilled Mushrooms, not to mention Gravalax and the Full House set us up for the day.....brilliant!! We would certainly go back to Trehellas house again, we had a large and comfortable room in the Barn extension and enjoyed a relaxing weekend within easy reach of both north and south coasts and a wide selection of places of interest. Cornwalls car parking charges need watching, they are some of the most expensive outside London I have encountered. Certainly no complaints, pity about price of wine!!

The food was good and the waitress service was very good during evening dinner. Breakfast was also good. On arrival we were upgraded to the top suite (Courtroom) but were never told why. We would have preferred our original room (Cottage Room ) booking, as it was in a more private location within the hotel grounds. It may have been to accommodate a smoker as the Cottage room was seperate from the hotel it would have been easier for them to access outside in which to smoke, having seen them smoking.

The full Cornish breakfast lived up to our expectations and kept us going all day. Home made jams and marmalade were available and helped nicely to round off the breakfast including lemon curd made with their own fresh eggs. The staff were very welcoming and friendly

Typical delightful low Cornish cottages converted to a warm and welcoming hotel. Pleasantly run by outstanding hosts, Alistair and Debra. Nothing is too much trouble and their staff are friendly and hospitable. Breakfast was a tour de force Shower cabinet should have a door rather than a curtain
