Located in the midst of the beautiful Cornish countryside, between Bodmin and Wadebridge, this charming hotel is a heritage-listed building, dating back to the early 18th Century. Situated in Washaway, Trehellas is a family-owned country house with real warmth and character, close to all that the county has to offer. A former courthouse, today the building still retains many of its beautiful original features, including the first floor’s Delabole slate floors and the external mounting block. Close to the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock, Padstow, Rock, Wadebridge and numerous other beautiful towns and sites in Cornwall, Trehellas is perfectly situated for walking, biking the famous Camel Trail, and exploring all that Cornwall has to offer. There was a very friendly atmosphere at all times. We were unable to hear the other residents when we were in our room. The location was excellent being very easy to find and a good location to visit the surrounding tourist attractions. The hotel staff were very knowledgeable about the attractions which we found very useful. The food was very good and we would definitely book the hotel again.

The staff were excellent. Particularly Jo on reception. The food in the restaurant was also of a particularly high standard. All the staff I met were extremely polite and the hotel had a very good feel about it. The views from the bedroom were delightful.

Located in a lovely area surrounded by beautiful grounds. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds,,,plus liked the fact that there were Earl Grey teabags in the room. The included breakfast was wonderful, and the best selection I've ever seen. First class experience and would stay there again.

First I wish to apologise for reviewing this fine establishment wrongly in a previous effort. I had stayed in two hotels in as many days and the wrong review was attached to this fine site. Understandably the owners were surprised and unimpressed! The room was clean and comfortable, the owners very kind and accommodating sharing their local knowledge. Breakfast was great, the best on my trip of Cornwall and I would not hesitate to stay again should they ever forgive my initial error! Best wishes Alistair & Debra and apologies once more. I would not identify any genuine concerns, value for money and conveniently located.

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food very good. The room we occupied (superior double) was very, very clean, bed extremely comfortable. Unfortunately there is no actual bar, but you are able to get a drink in the lounge areas as well as the diningroom. The hotel is in the countryside with no other amenities in the area, which is a bit restrictive.

We liked the location and the price. It was also comfortable and exceeded our expectation. We would definitely stay again. We didnt stay for the breakfast as we had to leave at 6am but next time hope to leave later after breakfast. The rooms were spacious and of stylish decor whilst keeping with the tradition of the building. Plenty of parking was also a bonus and although it was on a road it was`nt particularly noisey. Look forward to our next visit. Not having the breakfast, we had to leave early.

Great location. Meal quality and service was excellent and the owners, Alastair and Debra are the perfect hosts. With only 12 rooms there is time to spend with guests if the guests want. The food was really excellent, rooms clean and the place well run. The inclusion of breakfast in the price enhanced the value of our stay, intended for one night but extended to two due to the quality of the accommodation and meals. Well recommended.

I found the food for the evening meal far to posh for me .I would have liked the option of basic Soup or Prawn cocktail to start & more basic dishes as a main meal. To be quite honest I did not enjoy any of what I had and being a Diabetic I found this affected my my control of the Diabetes

Good location. We were able to visit the Eden Project, Pencarrow House (a pleasant walk away), Lanhydrock, Padstow, Port Isaac, and the lovely tradtiional village of Blisland just staying one night! Owners and staff are very pleasant. Breakfast was good (freshly cooked). We stayed in a room in the coach house. It was small, but good value at £55. We thought the main road position would cause problems, but there was little traffic overnight. Instead the noise came from inside. The rooms are not well insulated, and we heard every movement from the room above. We ate in the restaurant and while we both enjoyed our meals and the ambience, I would have wished for more vegetables.

Ideal location for our visit. Pleasant staff and a lovely breakfast. Although in a front room, and reading previous reviews, road traffic not an issue at all, a very comfortable nights sleep.

Really good dinner and breakfast Without a car, you are rather stranded. It's not within an easy walk of anywhere, even a pub.

It's a small, friendly hotel. The food was excellent (Michelin guide). Complimentary WIFI. Close to both Bodmin & Wadebridge yet in the country and close to the sea. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was at 8am which, for my business need was a bit late. I would have preferred WIFI in the room but because I was in one of the outer rooms I had to use the lounge, which was not conducive to private working.
