Centrally located, a short walk from Chichester Festival Theatre and the cathedral, this beautiful 18th-century building has a brasserie and free guest parking.
Score from 271 reviews Very good
In Chichester center, The Vestry features cozy log fires, cooked breakfasts and free Wi-Fi. Just 330 yards from Chichester Cathedral, the hotel has a lively bar and restaurant.

Score from 190 reviews Very good
Great stay, very comfortable, nice touch with fresh milk in the fridge. Breakfast excellent.
Free wifi was intermittent strength, kept dropping out in the evening. Difficult to log onto VPN and get work done.
Location was brilliant, facilities were good and room was light, airy and very comfortable.
Lack of wi-fi in the room we had although free wi-fi in the bar although this isn't well advertised to accommodation guests and the area in general doesn't have great mobile signal coverage although this isn't the hotels fault. Also worth letting people know the parking charges in the very small car park behind the establishment so they can bring enough change as it doesn't accept debit cards only a local car park car. Maybe time Chichester invested in pay by phone or updated their parking meters to accept cards especially as a lot of people wouldn't carry £8+ of change with them these days.
The location and breakfast.
Room was a bit tired, but there was refurbishment going on. Wifi didn't work and shower could be modernised.
Excellent service, superb staff.
No parking at the venue, so an added expense
The huge bed!
Quite noisy at night, but that was the town centre location and not a lot anyone could do about it.
Very well located for rail travellers and pedestrian access to the city.Good breakfast apart from lack of fresh fruit. Room had all amenities, but shoehorned into a smallish space.
The second night of our stay was made very uncomfortable by the failure of the radiator controls (room 5) which raised the temperature to almost 24 degrees. The room has secondary double glazing and both sets of windows had to be wrestled open to get some fresh air. Access to the rooms is via a service corridor past bar and kitchen areas, and up steep stairs. Rooms at the rear overlook a patio area with tables; quiet in February but probably buzzing well into the night in warmer weather.
Warm comfortable room. Very friendly helpful staff. Good location. Liked the fact that tea , coffee, fruit juice and water that was provided
The wi fi wasn't too good when I was using FaceTime.
Nice helpful staff. Cheap.
Room smelt like it had literally just been painted. Strong fumes.
Staff friendliness. Cleanliness and room and bed comfort
no bad experiences. It was right in the middle of city centre so great and convenient location but could be noisy at times.
paying for parking
The location with ease of access to nearby restaurants, shops, cathedral, etc. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with gorgeous freshly squeezed orange juice.
There was a problem with the Wi-fi so we couldn't access. Music from the bar was loud upstairs in our room.
Staff. Room - comfortable though small - fine for a weekend. Excellent breakfast.
Quaint country pub
The whole experience.
The room was warm comfortable and clean. The food was delicious we had dinner one night the soup was tasty and the salmon beautifully cooked. Breakfast was plentiful and a wide choice. Staff friendly and pleasant. Location
Friendliness of the staff, great breakfasts & a good atmosphere.
Room 5 can be noisy, there is a wooden floored passageway that runs along the bed end wall into storage area/office. No car parking which mean't a dash to fill the meter early in the mornings.
Comfortable well appointed room.
Indifferent, bordering on surly service at breakfast - let down an otherwise agreeable experience overall.
spacious room close to station central good food
Great location bang in the middle
There where no clear signs telling you that the carparking is at the rear. The roads are narrow you need to make signs clear to Trents
The team at Trent's were courteous, helpful, friendly and it is ideally positioned in the town centre. The room was clean, well presented but the mattress was a little too soft for me.
Parking was a pain, had to wait a while for a space to come free but probably just Christmas I guess, but you could find yourself with a bit of a walk with your suitcases. You expect some noise from the wine bar directly below but the noise from the adjoining rooms is comical. You can hear conversations, water running, loos flushing. Until all around you are tucked up in bed you are going to be part of their evening.
The staff, the atmosphere, the food and the location.
Nothing to dislike...
A separate breakfast area for guests set up with cutlery, plates, preserves etc and cereals and fruit juice available
The bed was comfortable and clean, spacious bathroom seemed a bit "empty".
I would not call Trents a Hotel. There is no reception, just the public bar. Waitresses helpfull with little experience on how to run a hotel. All rooms upstairs, creaky floors everywhere, impossible to sleep on a Friday night. The wardrobe is actually the cupboard to accommodate tea/coffee making, ironing board + iron, small fridge... no room for cloths. Too expensive for what it is.
The location is perfect for the city. Rooms are well presented and comfortable.
On arrival there is no reception so you take your cases through into the restaurant where people are eating and check in at the bar. Then you walk through a grubby back staff area to the accommodation. The breakfast was poor and did not reflect the previous good reviews.
Location was excellent. Food was superb and the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable.
