Our whole experience was brilliant from start to finish. We were able to check in early, the staff were super helpful, the room beautifully decorated and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Any noise from downstairs (it is a bar and restaurant) is very minimal and ceases immediately at closing time. We spent two nights and will be back. Many thanks Trent's
Room cleanliness Comfortable bed
Room too warm Couldn't open window very far
Great room and homely atmosphere
Room was spacious, Bathroom lovely
Breakfast - poor choice Shower head, water was not comfortable Tea & coffee, Ironing board & fridge in the wardrobe meant we couldn't hang long clothes. Overlooking the outdoor seating area of the bar which was noisy
Nothing was too much trouble and they were happy to help.
Somewhat nit-picking, but no clear signage for where to check-in.
Good location. Clean, comfortable room. Helpful friendly staff. Fresh milk and juice in fridge, in room.
Cooked breakfast not very hot. Definitely could improve on quality of sausages and possibly bacon. Scrambled eggs a bit suspect too. Rather pay a little extra or have fewer ingredients but better quality.
bed very comfortable lovely room - well-appointed good location friendly, courteous staff great breakfast very good kitchen - ate in restaurant during the evening (all very good)
room quite hot no place to rest outside of room, so quite pricey for a hotel...but fabulous breakfast and very good kitchen
No parking . Very noisy late at night if you go to bed before 11 . breakfast was not asked if u want more tea coffee after one cup or juice .breakfast was fair only.
Room was lovely with a large well-appointed bathroom. Bed comfortable. Decor very pleasant and restful. We ate an excellent evening meal in the lively, but still very pleasant restaurant. Breakfast the following morning was also excellent with generous portions. The salmon with my scrambled egg was very generous. All the food was well-cooked and presented. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Location very central which suited us as we were only stopping one night and managed some sightseeing. Car parking in public car park behind hotel. No charges between 6pm and 8am. Also, you can pay after 6pm for the following morning so avoiding having to dash out before 8am to pay. Would recommend this hotel and would happily stay there again if in the area.
A little noisy as we were at the front of the building. Rubbish seemed to be collected early. However, we knew this might the situation before booking and accepted it is a town centre location so didn't expect rural peace and quiet. We woke a bit earlier, but were able to doze. Also, we did have the window open and you could keep the window and secondary glazing shut and put the fan on if you preferred. This small disadvantage was far outweighed by the positives for this lovely hotel. You could ask for a room at the back. If you have mobility problems you would find the stairs to the rooms steep.
Wonderful comfy room, spotlessly clean. Friendly helpful staff, good food.
The only drawback was the noise from outside drinkers and that stopped at about 2330, we would also avoid Room 5 as the staff corridor runs behind the headboard of the bed so is another noise issue!
The rooms had obviously recently been completely refurbished. Everything was brand new and beautiful condition. A very very comfy bed, TV and CD stereo if you need it as well as tea & coffee. A lovely fitted out bathroom. Was spotlessly clean and shiny. No noise at night even though HM Constabulary were doing a rowdy patrol in the street outside on the Friday night we were there.
Lack of parking. The only parking is a council owned car park which is accessed behind Zizzis pizza restaurant. When I arrived I had to drop my wife off to go in, and then go and find somewhere to park. Cost me £1.20 for an hour in the car park. It is free overnight though. Only other minus point was that the room was very very hot. It was August but it wasn't blistering hot outside. Luckily there was a large floorstanding fan which wasn't over noisy so had to leave on all night. Access to the rooms was via a narrow corridor at the side of the bar which was partially blocked by bales of laundry when we arrived. I'm nit picking though, it's a lovely place with beautiful rooms.
Great location, staff really welcoming and helpful
Council car parking paid a full 24 hour ticket and it ran out while I was having breakfast and cost me £25 Not good for tourism. But this is nothing to do with the excellent hotel
Beautiful decor, friendly staff, lovely room, super breakfast!
Very friendly & helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.
Background noise of music until almost midnight though to be fair this should be expected when booking a room above a pub.
I loved the location. The room was lovely and the shower was brilliant - easy to use !
The room was very hot even though a fan was provided. It was an exceptionally hot evening so I am sure this would have been the same wherever we stayed
Staff facilities location menu atmosphere
Staff very friendly and welcoming. Room a good size and with good provisions (fresh milk and orange juice). Breakfast excellent.
Due to location (above bar) it can get a little noisy!
The room was great, nice decor, very comfortable bed and a nicely spaced bathroom.
It didn't bother me, because I'm a night person and was looking for an early night but the out door terrace was noisy until closing time 11.00-11.30pm. This might not please everyone. Also, there were great vibrations from either heavy vehicles passing or train. Not suitable for light sleepers.
room towards the street. Loud by night. Slept bad. :-(
Good location, great dinner and breakfast.
Room was very hot, I mentioned this to the staff and they said as the building is Grade II listed there wasn't a great deal they could do about aircon. I forgot that Trents was also a pub so the music can be a bit intrusive!
Excellent position for train travellers like us.Plenty of helpful staff always available.Very clean & generally friendly environment.
Room 5 was quite hot at times although there was a fan available.Oddly no cereals on the breakfast menu. These are only minor points - we really enjoyed our stay & will use & recommend Trents again.
All the staff were really helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was cooked to order (not a buffet as is often the case at hotels) and was really good.Very convenient for the sights of Chichester. Service was top rate!
My sister and I booked two rooms at Trents to stay after going to the theatre. Our stay was really comfortable. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the bedrooms were a lovely size and nicely decorated. Breakfast was great with good service.
The only one drawback would be the noise in the morning but we had expected that due to where it is situated and it didn't spoil our stay.
Location in city centre and near rail station; excellent breakfast; stylish décor and tidy room; pleasant and helpful staff; free secure wifi; chilled mineral water and orange juice in room; coat hooks on door
Only just adequate hanging space for clothes and not much drawer space; need to pass briefly through service area to rooms. These are very minor points which did not mar our stay.
location in Chichester
Pay for parking breakfast no cereal fruit or yoghurt Unable to open bedroom window coffee would have liked to be able to pour it myself ie. cafeterie
