Great location on Chapel Street. Restaurants, Tesco & shopping within walking distance. Really helpful and friendly staff. Option for cooked breakfast comes with the cost of the room + coffee, tea, yogurt, fruit, and cereal items too. Friendly and helpful staff. Front desk helped us get a taxi, which was very nice. Overall good experience.

i like walking on the promenade, along to Newlyn, took the Mounts Bay coast path to Marazion, took the bus to Trengwainton gardens- lovely to see the magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias - interesting walks round the gardens and a lovely cafe with friendly staff and good food.
Visited Trewidden gardens by bus and also took the train to St. Ives- a lovely scenic run along the coast.
Penzance town has a nice selection of shops and it is worth exploring the back streets and the area round Chapel street. On previous visits have been to the Morrab gardens and other parks. Penzance is easy to walk round, has a good bus service and the tourist information staff are very knowledgable and helpful.

Went in the end of February, it was a quiet time with everything closing by 10pm, and last buses leaving early, but it's just as lovely if not more so as any other time of the year could be. Even for hiking, if you get ready for the wind, the rain, the fog, the mud and the cold.

Penzance is a small town which has many quirky shops, art galleries , restaurants and coffee shops. What does let it down is the amount of old falling apart buildings and many shop closures - not unlike most small towns in the UK at the moment and in need of council investment.
A lot of people seemed to be on holiday although I would imagine it being much busier in summer, which is also a trend with the boom of holiday cottages in Cornwall. Hopefully Penzance does have enough locals living in it that it will still thrive and not just become a tourist town only like so many towns in Cornwall and around the UK as local communities are the heart and soul of what makes a town.

We went in winter, quite a few of the shops were closed.
We went in winter, quite a few of the shops were closed. Quite a bit of road works on our journey down. Beautiful town, very hilly. Definitely worth a visit for the history. We had dinner at the Longboat In. Food was very good. Traffic was quite busy as only one road into town centre and out.
Booked an overnight stay as a result of having to alter our travel plans due to the rail strike.
Arrived late and tired after a 10 hour coach ride to be met by a cheery, friendly barman who checked us in. After a welcome drink and a hot bath we slept well in a clean, comfortable room.
Breakfast next morning was very good and served by friendly staff. Reception staff were lovely and helpful too..
The hotel is so interesting to look around, it's history is fascinating. Good location for exploring Penzance.
Very clean, comfortable, well equipped holiday home in a lovely quiet village location. Just a few minutes drive to Penzance and with easy access to all area of West Cornwall. Kind and helpful hosts who live in adjacent property, always available for help and advice, but respectful of the privacy of their guests. Dedicated parking area with access to an electric socket for charging an electric car (for which I paid a very fair additional cost for the electricity consumed). Highly recommended.
Went as a family of 7 for one night. It was perfect for us in Penzance. Room was plenty big enough for all of us - 3 bunk beds and enough space to set up our portable crib. Toilet and shower was outside of the room, but was convenient and clean. Also got the full English breakfast which was fresh cooked and we thought was a good value as well.
Kids always love the bunk bed experience. Wife loved the setting of the hotel. I loved the value. Would definitely return.
One of the best places I've ever stayed in the UK! Beautiful room & communal area, fantastic location to everything in Penzance. It was all the little things that really made the place a fantastic stay. For the price as well, it really exceeded expectations. The refreshments that came every morning were a lovely touch and John & Shauna were always on hand to help with whatever we needed. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend this place to stay.
Josh is an extremely friendly and helpful host. He gave us a lot of insider advice as to what to visit in Penzance and also in Brighton (where we had a blast in Snooper's Paradise!). During our stay, he always made sure that we have everything we needed. The hotel is well-located and the rooms are comfortable and equipped with everything that one might require. The breakfast room is neat and offers a variety of healthy options, including fresh fruit.
I like Boutique hotels they have all the charm of a private residence and the quality of a 4 star hotel for a less price which makes them extremely good value and Hotel Penzance is no exception to this rule
Quality hotel quality staff and quality food 3 course for £20 and it was better than most 4 star hotels I’ve been too and I’ve been to a lot of 4 / 5 star hotels
This is an apartment that is located near the
bus/train station so access to same is
terrific. The bedroom is large, the bed comfortable and the kitchen is user friendly. We had easy and quick access to the owner on some questions and ours were answered within 15 minutes. Overall… Penzance is a great place to visit and I would certainly book this again.
Bay Lodge B&B in Penzance is a good base for exploring the SW Cornwall area with on-site parking. Very good full breakfast along with very friendly and helpful owners. Rooms are small but comfortable. No sitting room other than the dining area means it is not the place to hang out. But lots to do close by – by foot, bike or car.
Quality hotel, spacious clean comfortable rooms, breakfast cooked to order, welcoming helpful staff. Old traditional hotel that had style. About a 15 minute walk from bus/rail station, but location is superb on promenade with views across to The Lizard and to Newlyn.
Breakfast was excellent and location was good as I had a car, but there is a regular bus service into Penzance and the bus stop is right outside the Hotel. Room was clean and warm and had a double bed and one single bed, so good for a family with one kid,
The hotel is well located in Penzance for an easy walk to all the main shops etc, and right on the beachfront for the view during breakfast (or from a sea view room, if you get one). It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and nice.
Very nice and cosy cottage in a beautiful setting. Penzance is in a walking distance. Everything you need is there in the house and Hamish is always willing to help. Definitely a good base for a holiday in Cornwall!
The hotel was situated in a beautiful prime location in Penzance. The rooms were spacious beautifully decorated and great amenities. Breakfast was delicious, great portions and a beautiful sea view to enjoy it in.
Cosy cottage perfect for a winter trip to Cornwall, snug lounge with wood burner and comfy furniture. Easy access to St Ives (via beautiful coastal road) Penzance and Newlyn.
Very big room with a modern decorated bathroom, nice host, would definitely come back to this hotel, and strongly recommend if you are visiting Penzance!
