Sea view and location, comfy bed
Evening meal, well presented but not my choice. plenty of good restaurants in Mevagissey.
The overall ambience, comfy and very friendly
Good location with fine views and right next to the SW Coast Path. Comfortable with a good bed and an interesting panelled dining room.
The service is amateurish. The waitress had three goes at remembering which carafe wine we wanted and it was still wrong on the invoice. We sat in the delightful lounge sipping our drinks. We were told that our table was ready so we went through expecting that the starter was ready; it wasn't. We waited about 20 minutes in the restaurant rather than in the lounge. We had ordered mussels as a starter. Three tiny fish balls appeared with a shot glass of liquid. The fish balls were minced mussel we suppose and the liquid was mussel stock. Hard to eke out three tiny fish balls! The service was so slow. From receiving the menus to the main course was well over an hour. We couldn't wait for a dessert. The next day our bill was for £1.75. We said that we had had a meal and so watched as the whole bill was re-entered and we paid the full amount. Lucky we are honest. What a shame; it could be an ideal little hotel.
Comfortable and clean.Friendly staff and good cooked breakfast.
The water n the bathroom was rusty, and the tea was horrible. The sausages at breakfast were raw.
Lovely food, close to secluded beach and friendly atmosphere and clean and bright rooms.
helpful friendly staff, excellent food, lovely location,
we only stayed one night!
Stayed with my daughter, arrived to find accidentally booked a double bed. Reception were great immediately found us a lovely twin bedded room.very comfortable. Recommend you try dinner in restaurant,it sounds a bit extravagant(we normally like steak pie and veg)but it is excellent,my daughter had Singapore style guinea fowl with noodles and i had grouse. They were both beautifully served and waiter even printed a bus time table for our walk to Zennor.waitress charlotte who serves drinks is a cheery delight. If you stay recommend you have the dinner,it is great value and perfectly cooked.
Having to pay to hire towels when went for a swim
Restaurant was a little pricy
Everything was first class. The setting, location, comfy bed, breakfast (all locally sourced) and friendly helpful staff.
All the staff were warm, friendly and helpful. We booked at short notice (30 minutes before arriving!) and received a lovely welcome. The hotel is beautifully cared for and a lot of thought has been given to the interior decor and gardens. We ate in the restaurant, an interesting menu, well cooked and presented.
That we weren't there longer to explore the path down the cliffs.
Our stay was to mark our 50th. It was made special at this lovely hotel. Lovely room, great restaurant and very nice staff. All in a beautiful place, what more could you want?
Fantastic place to stay and easy to get to Mecagissey and Lost Gardens of Heligan
Bright clean room . Room 2. Excellent views. Only spent one night but would imagine an excellent place to spend longer.
Nice food, lovely staff, quiet bedroom, nice bed.
Bit expensive on some meals and drinks.
The view , the dining room and terrace. Lovely dinner too.
Uncomfortably hot room, kitchen smells on opening window to try and alleviate the heat.
location, hotel, staff, service, quietness, view.
I would have preferred to have paid a little less for two days if I am honest.
I think hotels in general should have sheets as well as quilts, it was too hot with quilt on, too cold without
The staff on duty were, at all times, attentive, hard working, friendly and well-trained; especially the young man front-of-house.
It is a very comfortable hotel. The food is good and locally sourced. Welcoming and helpful staff.
Food was excellent Location was perfect with fantastic sea views & access to private beach Staff were friendly & went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay Location to Mevagissey town was good, though hilly for elderly Hotel itself is beautiful & very charming
Liked everything but if anything could be improved its only the introduction of more veggie options for the breakfast & restaurant. In an ideal world, were it possible, the installation of an indoor lift to enable easy access for elderly/disabled to the beautiful upstairs rooms with amazing sea views would make it even more perfect!
wonderful sea views from garden the food was excellent
Choice of breakfast was really good and the salmon and eggs were super.Whilst the location is somewhat outside of Mevagissey the silence was beautifully deafening. The gardens were lovely just wished the trees were taken back to open the wonderful sea views.
The bottled water wasn't great. the was a strange plastic y smell in the bedroom. There was a really large damp patch above the bath, obviously the upstairs had leaked at some stage , it didnt hamper us using the shower but it was somewhat of putting and not expected at the rate per night we paid.
Couldn't have been better. Everything was top notch and staff were the best.
ALL the staff were excellent: attentive, friendly, considerate, helpful, nothing too much trouble. We both felt very well taken care of throughout our stay at Trevalsa Court Hotel. The rooms were clean and well presented. The restaurant offers a good variety of meals, and the food is obviously prepared with care. The hotel grounds are attractive, well maintained, and lead to a fairly secluded stretch of beach (albeit via some pretty steep and numerous steps, but well worth it)!
The sink in my en-suite bathroom was too low for me to use comfortably (6' 3" guy). The background music playing during dinner was always the same (great if you like jazz.. not so great if you don't). There isn't much to do in the evenings if you stay on site, but to be fair that is in keeping with the style and decor of the hotel i.e. calm and quiet within a period manor house setting. I wouldn't say the hotel was particularly child friendly (personally, I think that counts in it's favour)!
