Tre-Ysgawen Hall, Country House Hotel & Spa  

Tre-Ysgawen Hall is a beautiful place, the staff are always lovely and attentive, we go there every year now, as we have just fallen in love with the place. The prices are excellent value for money, and the food is absolutely top quality, they put alot of thought into their menu, and everything is fresh local produce cooked to the highest standard. The spa facilities are very clean and well thought out, everything you would want for a truely indulgent stay. They really do go the extra mile and further...

Food, spa, room

Very good food. Generally friendly staff. Large bedroom- we were given 4 poster bed although we hadn't asked for one. Lovely grounds - lots of snowdrops!

Very poor lighting in bedroom - difficult to read! Couldn't reach handle to open bedroom window - even a very tall person would have needed a ladder to reach it! Plastic backed mattress protector - very hot and uncomfortable to sleep on, therefore did not sleep well.

This grand old building had elements of lost romance and grandure mixed with modern spa, the combination was lovely. The staff were polite and helpful and well groomed. The Hotel is within easy reach of amazing beaches, and set in beautiful countryside. The hotel swimming pool was excellent, a good size, clean and warm with excellent changing rooms etc. The breakfast was plentiful, lots of choice, good and hot, served with a smile and kept me going all day. Our room was warm, large and yet cosy, the en suit bathroom was clean and large with a big corner bath with lots of hot water and bubbles. It was very quiet and restful

There wasn't alot to dislike but if I was to 'nit pick' i'd say....... I was disappointed that the Jacuzzi was out of order, our room didn't have much of a view, it overlooked back of hotel, although on a winter break that didn't matter too much. Some of the shrubs around the hotel have become huge and block natural light entering down stairs rooms and block view of rest of gardens and countryside.

Lovely building & setting excellent food & excellent spa facilities.

It was in beautiful grounds. Our room was superb. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Good ambience, friendly staff. Lovely setting with large grounds to explore. Excellent spa facilities. Great breakfast.

Friendly, relaxing (in bucket fulls) and quiet. Wish we could have stayed longer. The food in the Clocktower was topnosh, compliments to the chef, I would recommend the steak and the Guiness was as good as Ireland'S. The grounds were lovely for a relaxing walk. If the weather had been worse we would have spent some time in the spa too, unfortunately the sun came out so can't comment on those facilities.

Only a comment but we thought that it was very quiet at breakfast time, a little music would have relaxed the atmosphere. Oh and there was a massive cobweb (cmplete with spider) in the corner of the Clocktower restaurant - say hello if he's still there when you visit.

All the staff were very pleasant happy to assist .The pool and spa was very relaxing. Will definitely go again.

The Spa was lovely, very clean with everything working correctly. The lounge was a great place to meet before evening meal. The bedroom was super, very large with many amenities.

I thought the entrance was a bit shabby with a cheap looking red carpet and tatty paintwork. Also the building is very dark and no lights were on in the hallway making it very depressing. I was with my elderly father and he struggled to see his way about. Our bedroom windows were filthy with bird poo all over them.
