Good menu for dinner, very reasonably priced. Staff were very accomodating. Good size television. More like a botttom end travel lodge, very basic room, no real furniture, apart from bed and a couple of chairs, all furniture made out of plywood. No Hairdryers in room (these were available at reception, reception was closed when I arrived at 7.00pm and didn't open again until 7.00am the next morning, by which time I was needing to get breakfast and leave. Only one of the bed lights worked, admitting this could have been just a bulb gone. Not much choice for breakfast, no menu. Very poor servings for breakfast, I had a poched egg, tomato (which I could hardly find) mushrooms and bacon. (cooked nicely though)

room was nice with a comfortable bed. Nice area. Lots of parking. Quiet location. tv too small. And wet room - as soon as shower is used it then floods around wc. Not a good design. Smallest piece of cod i ever had the resturant, thought they had given me a childs portion.

Staff and location were great Rooms need an update, they are old and tatty. The bed was really creeky and you can hear the TV's in the rooms next to you. The room was clean (apart from a few hairs in the bathroom and around the sink).

We stayed at Tricky's as we were on-route to Carbis Bay for a wedding. Our stay was 'interesting'. I had no idea that the bar/restaurant was in a different building, not a problem normally, but I am suffering from a broken foot at the moment and on our return from eating (which was lovely by the way) it was pouring with rain and as we had not taken a brolly my partner had to go and get it or I would have been soaked to the skin!!! But that is just my story! The garden room were you have breakfast is really lovely, light and airy and has a truly lovely view. It possibly needs to be used more? The rooms are a bit tired and our bed(s) have definitely seen much better days, they were like sleeping in hammocks! But I have to say that the walk in shower was a blessing as it was so easy for me! My only concern was the floor, it got a little slippy so had to put a towel down to prevent that from happening. But overall the staff were really lovely..helpful and polite. And that says a lot about how you are going to be looked after? The fact I didn't know it was a walk to get to the pub/restaurant. A map or diagram may be helpful? Some people may prefer this layout?

The people are friendly enough and the place is generally ok, nothing drastic by any means however, I might suggest that the owner stays the night to see if they would be happy with the rooms and its facilities i.e. the power of the shower and the temperature controls, how softly sprung the beds are – more akin to a hammock than bed. Breakfast was a feast with plenty of food and drink on hand which really set us up for the day. It has a very large car park and is within easy reach of the beach and other places of interest. After all is said and done I would still recommend staying and I believe that with just a little more attention to detail it would be a very great place to stay. ps the bar is huge and well stocked Shower a bit weak (pressure) and extractor not working beds way way too soft - just little things

room spacious, bed comfortable No reception staff on weekend arrival (PM). You have to use a phone then go and see barman approx 100mr in a different building. Requested daily paper, barman failed to action so next day no paper delivered. Every morning at breakfast had to request milk jug as none available on any tables. also had to request tea pot as you make your own tea also on last day had to remind the waitress that she hadn,t put the boiler on to boil. It is felt not enough preparation went into the breakfast area. The bar and restaurant approx 100mr from hotel, interior tired and dated. The restaurant couldn,t supply some meals on their menu, they didn,t have the supplies in the kitchen. Not good value for money.

Friendly and welcoming staff; very helpful and accommodating. Great location with massive Car park. Excellent facilities on site:- restaurant, bar, BBQ area, Health Spa, Gym, Conference and Weddings catered for. Easy access to A30, (main arterial route for Cornwall 2 miles away) and Redruth. Breakfast room and staff a delight. Perfect location for exploring Cornwall. Lack of Hairdryer in room !
