Both dinner and breakfast were superb, tasty, and visually appealing. Welcomed on our arrival by the owner/chef - friendly and outgoing. Beautiful walks right outside the door past farms and fields. Room and en suite bath spacious and spotless. Really great place "to come home to".
Sitting area is not very roomy so tended to read and relax in the bedroom.
Comfortable atmosphere of house; friendly staff; rural location.
We were disturbed by a false smoke alarm but that was perhaps not the fault of the hotel.
Breakfast, dinner, personal service, gardens, quiet, very comfy huge bed and sleep. Gorgeous house. Felt very special.
The staff are friendly and helpful at all times. Meals were cooked and prepared to a good standard with adequate alternate dishes, so good choice. The hotel is warm and comfortable. Externally the garden is charming and compact
On arrival hot water was not abundant but this soon changed. The only criticism with the food was that the hotel had run out of strawberries as so many guests had opted for that dish on the menu. This is unavoidable and not a genuine criticism as shortages happen in the very best of hotels.
Beautiful presentation of meals Friendliness of owner and staff Wonderful grounds and floral gardens
Sadly I did not get to trygony house as after booking with bookings .com the hotel contacted me to say the had no availability after had confirmation. the hotel were extremely apologetic organised another venue and gave me a voucher for twenty five per cent of my next visit. We'll done
Location and quality of food
breakfast good but could have had a few extra rashers of bacon and sauages. Atmosphere was a little bit too quiet.
The Arts and Crafts style The location and stunning garden The staff were brilliant - the right amount of attention The food was excellent Lovely locally made organic toiletries
Nothing - will be returning and recommending to friends.
very relaxing. Friendly atmosphere
Wonderful setting, helpful staff, great food, beautiful room.
Clean & tidy rooms. Friendly & helpful staff. Excellent meals. Tranquil surroundings. Lovely gardens.
Nothing comes to mind.
Our room was spacious and well equipped. The food ranged from good to excellent. The location is ideal for visiting country houses and gardens in the area.
Staff levels of service was variable from very good to ordinary. E.g. Service at breakfast on one day was awful, taking about 20 minutes to bring tea, also serving warm bacon & egg.
lovely garden good sized rooms very helpful staff nice food we had a really nice time
Dog Friendly in the extreme
Comfort; space in bedroom; home baked biscuits in room and home baked bread. Lovely meals cooked with locally sourced ingredients. Friendly welcoming staff. Excellent facilities for humans and dogs. beautiful gardens and surrounding fields, great for dogs.(We had two with us). Good spot for exploring Dumfries and Galloway. We will go back!
Very welcoming and the staff were excellent and food good
Nothing really to dislike
Wonderfully relaxing with friendly and attentive staff and delicious food.
This is the second time staying at this hotel, the staff are very nice ,helpful and the food is of a high standard we have booked to come back sept
The exterior of Trigony House was beautiful. The view was gorgeous.Staff was accommodating after I complained. I felt bad about complaining but had to.
The conditions were shabby and dirty. I was afraid to sit on the furniture in the lounge area as it was filthy. The whole hotel was dirty. Even the doors were filthy in our rooms. I asked for a twin room, but it was very dirty so they moved us to two separate rooms. They were a little better but not very good. It was only one night so we stayed. I mentioned to the owners that that their description was very misleading. They did not charge us for the nights stay. This is not a 4 star hotel. Very disappointed.
So friendly, welcoming and comfortable.
Hospitality of a BnB with the restaurant quality of a 4 star hotel.
relaxed atmosphere. nothing was too much trouble.
nothing springs to mind.
Fantastic quality local ingredients, great breakfast, warm welcome for our dog.
Would like simple offer at dinner, with these great ingredients you dont need to do much eg solway scallops just need butter, garlic and toast not two smears of pimenton and pesto. Stick to more trad food, lovely pies, beautiful meat, beautifully cooked and not messed about. I live in london and can have thiskind of fusion of flavours. What i want in this lovely country house hotel is country house hotel cooking.
Friendly atmosphere of a hotel run by the owners. Very comfortable room. Nice food
Only very minor thing was the difficulty in getting a Wi-Fi connection n my room, but that mattered little
Beautiful food, lovely friendly staff, warm comfortable hotel.
