I would of liked to been asked for tea or coffee when being seated at breakfast and not until our hot breakfast order was taken.
Staff very friendly and efficient
Very stained corridor carpet !!
staff were very professinal
Very clean and tidy and a very welcoming feel. Breakfast was made to your liking.
Excellent location next to the river and close to the charming town of Cockermouth. Pleasant room and lovely breakfast served by very attentive staff.
Bed was a little small, I can't remember when I was last in a 4 star hotel that didn't have king size beds. Noise of Air-con units directly beneath our window.
The staff, the breakfast, location. Third time at this hotel and we both love it. I can't say much more.
A welcoming feel at reception, dining areas, bar and when meeting cleaning staff etc.,all were most helpful.
Accomodation. Staff helpfulness.
Food good but not excellent.
We loved the friendliness of the staff, who were all very welcoming and local people. They were helpful and very polite.
We were disturbed from time to time by a very noisy pump or compressor positioned very close to our room. Apart from that were happy with everything.
The prices in the bar
The room, the location, the staff. Delighted.
There was nothing I didn't like.
character & welcoming feel of hotel; choice of bar & restaurant; proximity to the lakeland fells
room overlooking main road which was busy/noisy with traffic and people socialising into early hours
A lovely small hotel on the river with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was generally well appointed, and we enjoyed our dinner, with great service.
The room was only set up for one person (one bath towel, one glass, one bottle of water), even though our reservation was for two people, but this was not really a bother. However, the bed was not comfortable, so not a great night's sleep!
A peaceful relaxing hotel. The staff cannot do enough for you to make your stay perfect.
The menu in the Bistro was not as extensive because of the refurbishment in the kitchen. It was a shame because the Scotch Egg was to "die for" and this was no longer on the menu.
Everything.... The staff were lovely, the room was warm, comfortable and spotless. Breakfast was to order, it was very tasty & piping hot despite the chefs having to work from portacabins during a kitchen refurbishment. Can't wait to go back
Having to come home so soon!
- The staff were professional and friendly. - Cleanliness of the place. - Quality of breakfast
- Lack of car parking between 7 and 11pm (There should be designated parking for the residence only) - Difficult to control the temperature of the room - a minor point: very cheap alarm clock stood out within the executive room.
The room was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was very good.
We found the room too hot, even with the windows open. It was not even summer.
Lovely location at one end of main street. Reception staff and other Staff all friendly and helpful
Well worth paying the extra for an executive room! Lovely big light, airy room with a full wall of floor to ceiling windows overlooking the River Derwent and Park. Breakfast was divine, lots of fresh fruit, beautifully cooked 'Full English', and lots of fresh coffee!
Only criticism, quilt very thick and heavy! Suggest lighter weight with a throw if needed?
Good location, nice hotel, lovely room (executive double)
No access for prams, no lifts. This resulted in us having to carry baby or carry the pram which was impractical & restrictive. We notified the hotel at the time of booking that we would have our baby and pram with us, yet when I rang to check our reservation the day before our arrival in discovered they hadn't allocated us a room with appropriate access and was informed that (in light of the fact they have no lift) they were unable to move us to a ground floor room either. Potential guests travelling with babies need to be aware of this restricted access when considering this hotel.
Lovely hotel and facilities. Very friendly staff. Room was fantastic and immaculate. Would happily recommend to other potential guests
The only downside was we were charged £15 for our small dog to stay in the room and had to leave her there when we went down to the hotel bar as pets are not allowed in that area. Apart from that it was a 10/10 stay
The staff are a credit to the hotel, couldn't do enough for us and always had a smile on their faces.
Came up 4 a wedding & food festival. Hotel was convenient, organised and had a lovely atmosphere even when it so busy. I can't think of a single thing to complain about!
A memorable weekend.A treat for our Anniversary.
Cosyness of the Hotel, very comfortable, great central location in the town lovely staff, great Hotel manager Mr Briggs... a lovely two days
