Proprietor delightful, facilities and breakfast excellent, price modest.
A bit remote from a choice of eating places.
Owners very helpful, room was clean and comfortable, was a treat to soak in a bath. Breakfast was excellent. This was my second visit here and I will be back again. Nice location and Sally has a list of places to go out and have a meal.Location is good, just 3 miles from motorway and 5 miles from Carlisle
As with my last visit , I could not find anything to complain about, apart from having to leave at end of my stay!
Room, clean and comfortable. Breakfast, English breakfast was excellent, good coffee and probably the best bacon I've tasted in a B&B. Very helpful and friendly owners. Free wifi.
Although the shower was ensuite, you had to leave the room for the toilet, this was in the single room.
Sally was the perfect host. helping us to manage the dinner late in the evening. Excellent relationship quality-price. very good breakfast and the rooms let to rest perfectly. good location to visit the Hadrian's Wall and all the surrounding area. A place to come back.
We received a warm welcome after a long day driving.De family room is very spacious and we'll equipped. .Our children could enjoy using the table tennis in the lovely garden. The absolute highlight was the breakfast prepared by the owner Sally. The choice is immense and the boys were happy with their fresh oven baked croissants. Even parking out trailer was no problem.
Lovely touches such as the tray in the room that included tea, coffee, wine-glasses, tea-pot. A microwave to make your own supper, which we did.
Some slight road noise but as it was warm we did have the bedroom window open. Having only booked one night!
Warm welcome. Very lovely ground floor bedroom with an amazing courtesy tray . Bathroom also had added extras . Breakfast special . We had porridge , then a continental breakfast with fresh fruits and yoghurt plus croissants . Super ! To die for !
Staying only one night ! Would have loved to stay longer.
location: very close to Scotland and Lake District = excellent Rooms: Very nice, spacious, comfortable, relaxing place after a long day Owners: Extremely nice, very approachable, warm, gentle and always want you to feel 100% at home. Breakfast: Top Notch!
huge tasty breakfast. very friendly couple. lovely conservatory to enjoy breakfast in.
the toilet facility on the landing was very cramped & uncomfortable for a taller person like me, and being under the stairs!
Comfort ,use of conservatory nearness of co op .nothing too much trouble ,good selection of teas and drinks excellent breakfast
Directions to the place post code is misleading
Hard to find without GPS. Directions vague.
Very welcoming and comfortable Guesthouse. Great breakfast. Will definitely be back.
What set Troutbeck apart from other B&Bs were the thoughtful touches like the communal facilities: a lounge was available to guest, complete with a microwave to facilitate 'minor self catering' in the evenings.
Through no fault of the B&B, the GPS settings did not immediately lead us to Troutbeck.
owners very polite and friendly. very clean and comfortable room. breakfast perfect. a lovely place to stay
Everything. Sally and Ian were wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the breakfast was amazing. The rooms were lovely and spotlessly clean. Definitely recommend.10/10
Sally and Ian were the most hospitable hosts in a lovely cottage with a relaxing peaceful garden. The breakfast was excellent as was the service. I hope to return in the not too distant future. Thank you for making our stay an absolute pleasure.
Everything, but especially the friendliness of our hosts, Sally and Ian.
Ian and Sally were lovely and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. They allowed us to have breakfast late and leave later than planned. The rooms were lovely and clean and great facilities
The road to the cottage was closed at night due to repairs to the bridge so we had to walk half a mile. This is a temporary thing though.
Despite being in a small village there was a little supermarket, cash machine, hairdresser and bakery right there. Hosts were bike friendly
I loved the room, the dining room, the location, the staff, the food and the view
Very friendly helpful staff, great location, could not fault anything and would stay there again. Great value for money
Very friendly welcome, comfortable and clean. Ideal location for stop over on the way to Scotland , a 10 minutes drive from motorway.
Very pleasant people and they let me put my motorbike in their garage too. Top notch fry up for breakfast!
No en suite toilet.
The hosts( Sally and Ian )were very welcoming and made our stay most enjoyable. Would recommend Troutbeck Cottage to friends and family. Good value for money and would definitely stay there again.
Incredibly helpful and pleasant host and hostess - they really couldn't have been more accommodating. They also gave me use of their garage for my motorbike. Great place for bikers and in good location for good roads. There is just nothing not to like about this place.
