Troy Hotel  

My wife and I have stayed in quite a few hotels in the Bayswater area and the Troy Hotel is by far the best! The Staff were very good especially those manning reception who were always helpful and friendly.

The staff was very helpful. They looked up times for us and gave directions when they could. They also helped with the lobby computer when we tried to print advance tickets and couldn'T. Very close to the tube! Right at 2 blocks.

I wouldn't say we didn't like it but it is definitely for short stays. My bed was not comfy but the linens were clean and the room had everything we needed. We were there to see and do as much as possible and the room was fine for sleeping and showering.

The guy on reception was exceptionally unwelcoming and did not give a good first impression of the hotel. Breakfast was very limited.

Very clean room and comfy bed. Perfect for a solo business trip. Very quiet location.

Good value and great location for Hyde Park, Queensway Tube (Central Line), Kensington Palace, etc. Bedroom clean and comfortable, access good (lift) to breakfast room which was bright and pleasant - food basic but acceptable for buffet style. I think it deserves the mid-sevens rating from past guests and I would stay again.

No bathtub (I like a good soak after a days work), but shower hot and powerful. Asked for a room in quiet part of hotel but was given room over street - the room was hot so the only option was to open the window.

Convenient location

The room 504 was near the elevator, noisy, poor sound insulation.

The location of the hotel was good and the room I had this time was large and comfortable.

It would be great if there is free computer and internet access in the hotel loby.

Location! A short walk across Kensington Park and to the tubes, just 2 minutes away to Queensway Station.The continental breakfast is simple with reasonable quality product on offer. The value for money is very good. It is surprisingly quiet. I will definitely stay here again, so highly recommended.

Nice hotel.

Location! A short walk across Kensington Park to the V&A Museum and other great collections. Good tube connections to Queensway Station just a few minutes walk away in a "safe" area of London. Good shopping and eating locally or a couple of stops away on the tube. The continental breakfast is simple but adequate with reasonable quality product on offer. Despite my adverse comments I would short stay here again. I have seen worse hotels in the area and the management of the Troy should raise their game.

The hotel decor is nice but dated. Poor quality repairs are spoiling the presentation of the rooms. The shower is a little small for a man with a big frame. There are some areas of dirty, worn and frayed carpet which is completely unnecessary in any working building or business. This and the standard of repairs represents shoddy management.

Everything was great !

The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are kept clean and the continental style breakfast is fresh and more than adequate with no shortage of food. I have stayed here on a few occasions and for the excellent location, the value for money is very good. It is surprisingly quiet. I will definitely stay here again, so highly recommended. Gets booked early.

Some side back rooms (singles) although pleasant are a little cramped in the bathroom facilities for more than a short stay.. Otherwise the rooms are very nice, very clean and with only a few looking a little tired in the carpeting, but this is true of most hotels in many price ranges.

We have stayed at the Troy twice before....... Love the location..... food great.......staff good....... will stay again....

Lumpy pillows...... shower head.... sparayed everywhere but down........ needs soaking in Vinegar.... to rid the lime scale..........

Excellent check-in and check-out. TV reception clear and good choice of channels. Location is very good being 5 minutes from the Central Line and close to many shops and restaurants.

Rooms are a bit tired, needing a bit iof TLC, and I found the bed mattress less than ideal (although not wholly uncomfortable).

We only saw one receptionist during our stay but she was extremely friendly and helpful. Baggage storage useful either side of arrival and departure.

Nothing we didn't like.

The hotel was well located, next to a shopping street, bus and underground station at 1 min walk. We arrived at 11am and we were allowed to check-in early. We did not have to pay extra money for them to keep our luggage after we checked out. Staff was really proactive to our demands. Great value for money especially for London.

Breakfast lacked variety (no ham or meat options). The bed could have been more comfortable, might be a problem for long stayers.

My wife had trouble locating an electrical outlet the would work with her hairdrier/mirror.

The Hotel was of a good clean standard with friendly and helpful staff. The room was very pleasant, clean and cheerful, not large but we have had smaller in London. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was warm. (The weather was bitter cold during our stay!) The breakfast (continental)was also plentiful with a good choice. The location was good for us, close to Notting Hill and Kensington. We did not need to use the underground as so much was within walking distance. We would definately use this hotel again.

We did not have any complaints and did not find anything we did not like. The only criticism is the rooms are quite small but that is so common in the London hotels.

Location is very good, close to 2 tube stations and bus stops. Cheap - ok for one night.

Noisily, single rooms split by a locked door; you can hear your neighbourhoods very well. Poor breakfast.
