Everything, the hotel was really outstanding
Good size comfortable room, excellent food and warm and friendly staff
Only come r would be that the wifi facilities did not work in the barn room probably due to distance between the hub and the room, although this was not a major issue
The warm and friendly welcome, the delightful arrangements of the separate buildings, the excellent breakfast and the careful consideration of the details which make life comfortable. And plenty of parking! (With ponies behind!!)
I like the quaint décor of the property and the rooms. I liked the cobbled stone walls and the country feel. The staff were also really helpful.
As can be expected of the barn, the walls and floors are quite thin so I didn't sleep much as I heard the creeks of doors and footsteps of the people above us.
Peaceful location great food only three hours drive from home in Cornwall
Late night movement in room above.
Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Food was amazing and the location was perfect.
Only nit-picking, but we stayed in a ground floor barn room, and you could hear the footsteps of the people above. Not terrible but noticeable.
The room upgrade was totally unexpected and fantastic. We were allocated The Loft room, the bathroom was huge and beautiful. Room very spacious and well appointed. All food very good, we had an evening meal and of course breakfast......everyone very pleasant and friendly.
The evening meal was excellent but at the top end of expensive.....but we were away and spoiled ourselves. Perhaps a little picky, but once we had finished our meal, it was very difficult to catch the waitress attention, to enable us to pay....
Staff friendly and very helpful. Food excellent - dined in-house. Bed and room extremely comfortable, clean and warm. I will be back!
The staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is extremely attractive and is surrounded by a beautiful village and gorgeous countryside. The food in the restaurant was very nice (though pricey) and breakfast was nicely cooked and well presented.
Room 9 - Shaving foam from a previous occupant was all over the wall at the back of the sink and down the towel rail. The dressing table is covered in what appears to be nail varnish and there was make-up up the side of the tea/coffee area. The room is not particularly large and being on the ground floor means that every footstep from the room above can be heard.
The location, really nice building, good staff, decent breakfast
Pokey loft room, dodgy shower and TV, no view whatsoever
The hard work that had obviously been put in over many years to get every aspect of the hotel right. I could quote examples ranging from the combination of staff friendliness, helpfulness and professional competence to the sculpture in our bathroom. Very impressive.
Bigger and better rooms are always appreciated but business is business and our stay was the best value for money we've had in years.
Design, architecture, position in the centre of the village.
Self-service breakfasts could have been a bit more extensive
The restaurant and food were excellent.
Very comfortable bed, quality products such as White company ammenities, duck down duvet and pillows, expresso maker inside room, different selection of tea's, hot chocolates, cookies, robes, fluffy towels. Very cosy.
Not really hotels problem but no reception in clerewell.. Price is little higher then what we would pay for a b&b of same quality from our area but for clerewell this was the average price for accomodation so happy we chose here.
Lovely comfortable hotel, great location good breakfast and great staff
My daughter and I shared a twin room with my 9 month old grand daughter. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodated all the various requests we made with regard to the baby's needs. Nice quiet location and the hotel has a nice garden where you can sit to have afternoon tea. Good breakfast provided.

Room was OK, expected more. paid for better than average, guess that's what we got.
Comfortable bed good blinds
Low roof banged head twice cob webs behind shower but overall was very happy with room
the food was superb, well presented. The decor was lovely and lots of attention to detail. Garden very pretty. A special place to stay.
Lovely clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast! Attended a wedding at Clearwell Castle, perfect location.
Liked almost everything. The location was beautiful. The refurbishment was carried out to a very high standard. We had the Loft which was spacious, spotless with lovely views and gardens
We found the service in dining room for breakfast and dinner very rushed. As soon as plate was clear, but not mouth, the plate was whipped away. We ordered a very nice wine only for it to turn up at table already in carafe, not having seen the bottle.Young staff not always sure what to do or say.
Tudor farmhouse is a little gem. It just what we needed to make a wet cycling adventure into a lovely break!
The food was absolutely delicious, but the waitress service didn't match the meal. Completely forgiven because she was very smiley and sweet, just not very knowledgable. Throw some bleach at the grouting in the shower of room 6.
Lovely room, with nice touches with espresso machine, biscuits and even milk in the fridge! Comfy and spacious bed, lovely bathroom with bathrobes and big towels. Breakfast was cooked to order and hot and very tasty! Nice pub next door, and lovely grounds, will definitely come again one day!
TV was a tad awkward to use but not an issue.
Sitting outside for breakfast in a colourful country garden
Unusual window configuration- small window at floor height and velux window was only window that opened - no good when raining as window over bed!!
