I liked the fact it was located in the central part of town. Good for shopping and sightseeing. With the use of a car park to the rear The room was very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and well presented. The staff helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good. Cannot think of anything to dislike.

It was an extremely old and historic hotel, reputedly haunted. There was a very warm atmosphere in the bar where the staff and the locals made us feel extremely welcome.

Hotel in a very pretty setting. We had a lovely room with a view overlooking the river. Very convenient for exploring Tewkesbury. Good traditional breakfast included in the room rate. We would certainly return.

We loved it - coudn't believe our luck, a beautiful old building sympathetically and beautifully decorated, spacious, cosy, comfortable room. Fantastic friendly greeting and on-going service. Great cooked breakfast. Would have been nice to have had a bath as well as a shower, but not the end of the world considering how beautiful our room was.

Staff, atmosphere, food, room size and virtually everything else were all first rate. Perhaps the pillows could have been a little more substantial.

It was well priced and very clean. Rooms facing the road are very noisy as there is no double glazing and they are directly above a pub. We were woken numerous times throughout the night. Also many people drive loud cars up and down the road in 'racing' style. Would not stay again unless in a room away from front road.

The room was ok and the breakfast was good. Some of the windows could not open, the toilet brush did not have a holder, the radiators kept making banging noises

I said that the trip was a first anniversary celebration and our first visit to Tewkesbury. When we arrived they had upgraded us to a four poster room which was great,

Staff were polite and helpful creating overall a pleasant atmosphere. The hotel in general was clean & tidy with as you would expect plenty of beams & creaking floors due to its age.Our room far exceeded our expectations with plenty of space and an inglenook fireplace.Ask for room 9 if you can.Breakfast was typical hearty English if you wanted and service efficient. No real problems only car park a little on the small size.Just get in early for a space.

We enjoyed staying in such an historical, attactive and centrally located hotel in the centre of Tewkesbury. We were disappointed that the bathroom did not include a shower spray fitment. The wall mounted shower holder was in place but we were unable to take a shower as there was no shower spray.

The staff members I met were very helpful I wanted only one course for dinner, but the range was very limited as to what I could eat. I opted for ham with eggs, chips & peas,, but there was far too much to eat. I asked for a "doggy bag" and finished it at home. It would be helpful to have smaller portions available for those of us who are older and do not eat big meals & find the prices rather high. I did not like having to park my car on a different site, because there was not enough space for all the guests.

“The location was excellent as we travelled by train, Foregate St station is about 50 yrds away. The fact it had a pool and sauna ws great after a hard days shopping in the excellent Christmas market. Room was full of space and the double bed was large and comfortable. The Special £20 set menu for Christmas including a glass of wine nd three courses was excellent value ( Cranberry Sauce was delicious ) Staff were friendly and very helpful. Will probably come again for the market next year.” Peter, West Wickham. Kent |
