the building was great and perfect location
doors that slam shut
The best bit was the staff. They were polite and friendly at all times. Old style hotel and the breakfast was very good.
The attic which we were staying in was a tad cold and the television looked ancient. The hotel could not help this but there was fighting/shouting and no less than 4 police cars outside the hotel on Saturday night which gave the area a bad impression.
The owners and staff were so friendly . The meals were very good, dinner, and especially breakfast . The hotel had plenty of character.
The bedroom was very dark. Obviously this is a very old hotel but even so it definitely too dark to read. It required ordinary bulbs to give some semblance of light. Did not care for the sausage at breakfast.
Saturday night and the town can be very noisy
The rooms. Very atmospheric, comfortable. Loved the beams and creaky floorboards. Staff, polite and helpful.
Breakfast a bit basic. Tinned tomatoes. Tea and food only warm not hot.
No close car parking. Poor selection of beers at bar.
Very helpful new chap owns this place. Great value for money!
Spacious comfortable room
Noisy location at street junction
Staff were very friendly and accommodating
No on-site parking, thin walls (I was kept awake by my neighbour's TV)
Lovely room , very friendly attentive staff . Very nice breakfast
great location, friendly and helpful staff, great room and lovely breakfast, good value character hotel.
no on site parking, but hotel recomended free parking up the road
Lovely lovely owners. Right in town Excellent value for money
I was just unlucky with the timing, as there was a 21st birthday party that was on, and I had to be up at 4.45am! But don't let it deter you. It's not the Ritz but you can't ask for more for the price.
Noise at night from next door
Staff very good
Very friendly and helpful management. Beautiful traditional building Plentiful breakfast
Not easy to get around building but this is compensated by the delight of staying in a building straight from history
Great staff,Very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast cooked to order. Beautiful listed building. Good choice of in room refreshments.
Spacious, comfortable rooms considering the age of the building. Updated bathrooms. Friendly & helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Centrally located. They use motion sensitive lighting in the common areas around the rooms so you will likely walk into a dark hallway at some point, however, the lights will turn on within a few steps.
Due to the central location there was a fair amount of street noise and noise of people coming out of nearby pubs. No onsite parking, however, guests are able to use a car park a short walk from the hotel.
It is central and convenient.
Macerater on WC. Unpleasant odour to the room.
Staff were great, room lovely, beds so comfy.....
Inter net access very poor
The building, excellent breakfast
Noise from street, but was not much of a problem later on.
Service was very good friendly staff
The shower in the room was not good room clean and tidy
Staff Historical nature of hotel Location Breakfast
Lovely beamed room with a four poster bed plus a single bed. Plenty of space and a sofa. Very good breakfast.
It was rather noisy outside but any town would be on a Saturday night.
Didn't have our booking. Rooms odd!
