Very good,
Score from 54 reviews
“ Lovely hotel, in the centre of town so some noise which is to be expected but it was a 2 minute walk from the British Legion which is where we needed to be. Lovely beamed rooms and bags of character. The breakfasts are amazing, the best we've ever had, plenty of food and piping hot. ”
Jo,
Winsford
With original wooden beams and a bar serving real ales, this 17th-century Grade II-listed building is full of historic character. An English Heritage Site, it serves home-cooked food and has free Wi-Fi. The Tudor House Hotel’s bedrooms are each unique, and decorated in a traditional style. Modern features in every room include a TV, tea and coffee and a bathroom with a hairdryer. With a special fish night, home-made pie night and steak night during the week, the restaurant uses local ingredients wherever possible. The popular bar stocks a selection of wines and cask ales. Tudor House is in the heart of Market Drayton, in the town’s main shopping area. There are also several bars in the immediate area, and Market Drayton Golf Club is a 10-minute walk away. Staff were very welcoming & helpful. Food was good. Room was large & clean. Bed had a plastic mattress protector. Every time we moved we slid about. The walls were paper thin and could hear everything in adjoining rooms! Very busy outside, cars racing up the street until the early hours and lots of noise from people visiting the kebab shop opposite.

The staff were all very friendly and informative. The room was spacious and very clean. It is a very old hotel - 16th century, and had many of the original features - beams etc., which gave it character. The food in the restaurant was delicious

We arrived to friendly welcome. The room was very clean and very comfortable. Previous reviewers had warned of noise. We were on the front street an hear none. The breakfast was a good quality. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Not enough choice on the television

Staff were friendly and helpful. Cheap clean bed for a night. Noise from outside revelers and inconsiderate guests slamming doors and thumping up and down stairs.

Excellent stay, staff were very friendly, they even allowed us to check in at 11am as we had a wedding to attend. Rooms small but clean with lots of character, bed was fantastic. Although very central, it was all in all a quiet location. Fantastic full English in the morning.

I loved the style of this hotel. It is in excellent condition for being built in the 1600's. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. I was made to feel like a local during my stay. My room was on the 1st floor and was huge with an impressively large en suite bathroom. The hotel is very clean. The bar is nice and cosy and you are interacted with from the start. Great Chinese restaurant and Indian restaurant within a 30 second walk. 5 bars within 1 minute of the hotel. I will definitely use this hotel again if passing. Electric shower in the en-suite had little power but was no worse than any other i have used. Could do with being replaced with a power shower.

It was extremely friendly and the bed was amazingly comfortable and the breakfast excellent I think my room (don't know about the others) needed a free standing mirror on the table nearest the plugs for hairdrying - it I hadn't brought my own I would have been pushed to dry and style my hair/makeup in the only other mirror in the bedroom which was too far from the plugs. Also being a Saturday night in town there was a very loud altercation in the street below at some time in the night, it seems as if a fight was going on. Luckily it did not disturb me much but it did the other members of my party. Not much the hotel can do about that though.

The rooms were very quaint and the Tudor beams added to the feel. The breakfast was superb, hot and good quality It was very noisy on the night we stayed. It is next to a pub that was open until at least 2am. It was very noisy like a pied of screaming banshees until 2.30am. Therefore you could not sleep. I would recommend based on the hotel but suggest Saturday night are going to be very noisy so would avoid market Drayton town centre at weekends

Historic building. The church bells striking the time through the night was for me a pleasure. Noise from street until midnight. Window would not close. Noise from kebab take away and delivery vehicles and shouting of staff was a big negative. The take away was directly opposite room 4 and the narrow street meant that it was very intrusive at a time when I was trying to sleep. What disappoints me most about this is there was no mention of this problem in website info nor from hotel staff on arrival.

Hotel was fine. No booking for any of us for day 2 although I had the paperwork to show it had been booked. Fortunately not fully booked. My car was vandalised on the town centre car park resulting in a hefty bill and a 3 hour delay at the Merc dealer in Stafford. I will not be going back.
