we liked our comfortable beds...we enjoyed breakfasts,,,everywhere is very clean.. anja very friendly and helpful.
I would have liked a socket by the mirror with more space to do hair and make up.
Breakfast is really good, room is clean, bed is comfy.
Friendly helpful landlord and landlady. Great on local knowledge. Excellent healthy breakfast. Prime location. A real gem!
No lounge .
Tudor Lodge provided a welcoming, comfortable stay in the centre of Porthmadog. Splendid breakfast. Very helpful staff.
Very Clean. Shower was powerful and hot. Heating was good. Plenty of variety in the Continental breakfast. Welcoming, smiling and helpful staff. Private parking.
Sound proofing not great as we could clearly hear people in the next room.
Friendly helpful staff Had rooms available last minute
Only had a continental breakfast.
We stopped 2 nights and never had to use the car as there are plenty of things to do within walking distance. The rooms are clean, warm and everything you expect from a 3 star hotel. Breakfast is continental and is excellent and plentiful. The owners are really helpful and work hard to make you feel welcome.
If you take the train to Ffestiniog, make sure you visit the Slate Mine because there's nothing else to do in that town. The alternative is a 3 hour wait before the train back to Porthmadog. You have been warned :)
Friendly approachable member of staff greeted us when we checked in. The rooms were extremely cosy and heated to just the right temperature for comfort. The continental breakfast was fantastic with fresh coffee, cereals toast and a wide selection of fresh fruits, yoghurt and preserves. Again, the service was friendly and efficient. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!
Lovely room; wonderful bathroom and glorious shower; excellent REAL continental buffet breakfast; very friendly hosts... all top stuff! Would definitely go again.
Comfortable clean room, friendly & helpful proprietors. Great location. Easy car parking. Nice continental breakfast
Everything about Tudor Lodge was fantastic. The staff were great and they even came in earlier in the morning so we wouldn't miss breakfast. Couldn't fault the cottage given to us and would definitely recommend to others.
We were spending the weekend in Barmouth competing in the beach races. We looked on booking.com for b&b to stay in and it said Tudor Lodge was 5.8 miles away. We were not expecting the 35 mile trip to our hotel from the races.
Of the many places I could have stayed, I am glad it was here. The staff were charming and helpful. They knew all there was to know about the local area and events going on, right down to public footpaths and ways to climb into the hills safely around the area. Great breakfast again no matter what they were doing in the kitchen they stuck their heads out just to say good morning and would remember your name. A real personal touch lost by so many of these places. I cannot recommend this little place highly enough!
Very attentive and helpful hosts, spacious rooms and an ideal location for exploring north west Wales. Whilst I always look forward to a cooked breakfast when on holiday, the vast choice available in the buffet style offering made up for it.
The lack of a cooked breakfast, although we were aware of this when we made the booking.
We received a very warm and informative welcome by the owners. The room was very comfortable together with an en-suite / shower. Tea and coffee in the room. As much as we wanted from the wide selection of cereals, fruits and breads for breakfast. Free to come and go as we wished Tudor Lodge catered for all our needs. Many Thanks
nothing to report
The staff where fantastic and helpful. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful
Car par was around the back and was a bit of a mission to take luggage around... But that is minor compared to the lovely staff
Parking on site, close enough to trains, good continental breakfast.
The young couple who manages your site are charming, helpful and efficient. They were amazing!
Location Spacious well designed room Friendly helpful owner
excellent all round
Very welcoming and friendly Manager; close to mainline train station and not far from tourist railways, laundromat close by and plenty of choices for evening meals.
Room was rather cramped, mainly because it had too many drawers/cupboards; with no "desk" space for laptop and lighting badly placed for reading. Wi-Fi speed good but no security.
Very pleasant staff. Took time to have a chat with guests. Great location, breakfast good with a selection of fresh fruit and bread.
Pillows were hard the floor above creaked loudly whenever anyone moved.
good location, friendly staff
Beds a little hard for me
General relaxing comfort.
TV limited. No subtitles, No text. Basic channels.
A) The friendliness of the staff - nothing was too much trouble. They helped with the baggage, they made sure we were settled in our room & they showed us all that we needed to see, including the breakfast room. Also, once they heard we were travelling on the Welsh Highland Railway, they gave us a 20% discount voucher! This would also apply to the Ffestiniog - I feel sure that if you were travelling on both, you would receive a discount for both. B) The quietness, despite the front of the hotel facing the main road - our room was ground floor toward the back. C) The comfort levels, which were very high
Nothing - heartily recommended
