“ This hotel was unbelievable value for money and I can't wait to stay again. The room was lovely, the staff were friendly and food was good. The hotel had character and and ample parking spaces. I would choose this over any chain like the Premier Inn. ”

Decent size room Nice breakfast Staff seemed to stretched juggling multiple responsibilities (serving a queue of people at the bar while a queue of people waited to check in) The bedroom was not very clean with dust, dirty towels and broken toilet seat

Charming, courteous staff. Convenient position. Interesting old building. Marvellous breakfast - good variety and very hot cooked food. Good free parking. A very fair price for the location. Although very clean, looking a bit tired and worn in places

The décor as it retained the olde-worlde style. The breakfast was excellent and overall it was very good value for money. The room was quite hot.

It is a quiet location especially at weekends. Breakfast is good. Rooms are clean. The place is a bit quirky in a good way. If you prefer conventional rooms stay in the new block at the back of the hotel. From a commuter point of view its a little far from the tube station over half mile. How ever there is a good bus service from outside the front of the hotel. It is a little isolated and is a good walk to any shops or pubs etc.

A warm welcome as always. Staff always friendly and in the newer wing this time. Room spotless. Always a couple of biscuits and some coffee. Shower and bathroom spotless and hot water. May not be the Ritz but it's a home from home. Wish breakfast was 6.30 start instead of 7 as the traffic to get into London any time after about 7.15 is horrendous. No crisps or nuts in the bar.

It's was very noisy, struggled to sleep on a night as it was near a busy road so had to wear ear plugs to try and block out the noise. Room started leaking, changed rooms and the noise in that room was terrible, the window would start rattling when a car was passing. Rooms were very dated, was not worth the price I paid, would rather stay in a tent than stay there again! The lady on reception wasn't very helpful at all, one evening I waited at reception for 15mins until someone showed up to deal with me, very poor

The central heating and the location. When arriving we was told there was a wedding so would be noisey between 10 and 12pm. Secondly the bar was shut to us as was private venue. I feel we should of been told this before driving all the way to here. The room was shabby, no bathroom curtain/blind so everyone can see all. The windows are not secure in any way and could easily be pulled open and as on floor level was not good. The tap on the sink had to be held whilst turning it on or it would fall off, the tv had no signal the entire time, stating it through the middle of the screen. Certainly not worth the money charged.
