The Staff were excellent, my friend loved the ghost hunt, the atmosphere and facilities were excellent I loved the log fire in the evening. Would definatly visit again and recommend to friends and family. Directions to the hotel could have been easier to follow as I have no sat nav system but we found it in the end after a few missed turns.

The bedrooms were roomy and the staff was helpfull. We were a familly of 5, and booked 2 rooms for a night. We had read some negative feedbacks on Internet, but our experience was quite good and the price was one of the best ratio Value for Money we had during our 8 night trip. I would not advise you this hotel if you are looking for a charming lonely Castle in the middle of the land, with furnitures dating from the 16th (for an honeymoon for instance)... But if you are looking for a good large room, in an hotel with some character and for a reasonnable and affordable price, then this hotel is perfect.

The location and architectural beauty is impressive. The historical associations and baronial feel all at a very reasonable price - the restaurant menu was good and food excellent. The rooms are large and well appointed. 1. Lack of Internet WiFi 2. TV tuning with digibox 3. Ill fitting taps on wash hand basin in bathroom

Intrigue and history Staff were not very professional. Breakfast staff very unattentive. Receptionist impersonal The difference between mediocre bar food and a very expensive and limited Hogmanay menu were marked and the choice for ye Hogmanay menu was poor.

Convenient for a night before getting a lift to Inverness with my son. No hot water when I arrived in the evening. (It was hot next morning.) Bed was hard. Too much uncleaned upholstery in the hotel. It smelled unpleasant in some parts.

Very friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to help. Nice historic feel and atmosphere. Very comfortable and well looked after. Although rooms very clean and tidy, had a slight 'tired' feeling and needing a bit of re-paint or touch up. Food was very good but possibly not 'gourmet 4 star' as implied in brochure a 4 star hotel - but appreciate its now winter season.

We enjoyed the stay, the staff in the bar were excellent and we changed our dinner reservations to eat in the bar. Food was excellent. The staff gave me a tour of the castle and up to top of the castle for a picturesque view. Poor wifi reception in the rooms. Hard to get to, the gps barely got us there. Beds were hard

Tulloch castle was beautiful. We enjoyed touring the castle itself and the grounds around it. The staff was EXCELLENT! Lorna at the front desk was so friendly and helpful! We felt like we were old friends by the time we left. The mattress was extremely hard.

external appearance and entrance/reception area. several minor niggles detracted from overall experience e.g. a front door key could possibly be made available to guests planning to stay out late on a Saturday night or at least they should be advised they require a phone to gain entry to the building.

The location was good for my trip. The decor and bathroom fittings are dated and in need of modernisation. The TV was not working and and had to be repaired by the handy man, which was not until 9pm.

Not much, needs updating. Wedding on at hotel and very noisy in our room. Tv did not work and no answer at reception, room service or bar. Wine with dinner not chilled, brought in ice bucket with suggestion we leave it to chill.

The Bathroom was good. We left early and paid without staying the 2nd night. While the room was large, we were charged 60GBP for a very narrow fold out bed from a single chair for our 15 year old daughter, which we had to ask to be made up, even though we reserved a family room. Our double bed on one side had two large depressions (more like holes) in the mattress indicating it was very old, my husband had a very uncomfortable sleep. They did not tell us that they lock the outer door of the hotel at 10pm or that our key did not open the door. We arrived back at 10:30 from dinner and had to knock on the doors and windows to get in. There was a phone number on the door, but we left our phone charging in our room, however we thought it presumptuous that we were expected to make an international call, to get back into our hotel. Then the next morning at breakfast, they did not have a table set up for us. When we attempted to sit at the only table that could accommodate us, which was set for 4 people, we were told we could not sit there as it was set for other guests. We asked where our table was and were told we needed to talk to reception. They quickly placed 3 settings on a table set for 2 people which would normally be fine with us, but it was tiny. We had to put coffee cups and other dishes on the window ledge to fit our main plate in front of us when our cooked breakfast arrived. The lady who served us, did apologise and promised to rectify the next day, but that was enough for us. The hotel was also very dark and damp smelling. It was no where near the standard of the four stars advertised on its front door. We went instead to a hotel nearby, Coul House and it was such a difference. It was 3 stars and less expensive and was a beautiful place in all respects, service, rooms, food, reception areas. It also had beautiful landscaped gardens. We could not understand how the Tulloch could retain its four stars, with Coul House in the neighbourhood?

“Very friendly greeting. Upgrade given without asking. Owners are very nice people on a mission to restore a beautiful building. Very quiet, well run hotel - had a fabulous night's sleep. Food and service is excellent - the Gamekeeper's breakfast was the best I've ever had (try the award winning haggis and black pudding). Would definately stay here again - highly recommended.” Frank, Morecambe |
