The best part about the stay was the politeness of the staff.
I turned up shortly after 10pm, and was handed a key to Room 25, in the 'annex'. Despite the fact that I had pre-booked, the heating was off, and this was on one of the coldest days of the Winter so far, and it had been snowing. I put the heating on, but because it was so very cold, I went and sat in the car for almost an hour, to give the room half a chance to warm up. Even then I had to go to bed with my socks on! You would have thought, given that they knew I was coming, that somebody would have put the heating on.
Mostly fine. Staff and service was good.
Food was OK but not brilliant
once inside the hotel it was very well decorated and very pleasant. just not worth the money with the location
The hotel looked like a building sight from the outside, the room was stupidly hot but if you opened the windows it sounded like the M1 was next door, the car park/ carboot sale first thing on a sat meant we were woken up with all the passing traffic, literally outside the window. def not worth the £170 for 2 nights, and also had to wait 30 mins before we could even order food from the bar snack menu, the resurant was not even busy!!! would not go back again for the price!!!!
Hotel was lovely nice friendly staff. The room was very nice (suite) bed was very comfortable. Bar drinks were good and there was a range of different breakfast to choose from which is nice and full Derbyshire breakfast was very nice
Bathroom was cold and the extractor fan didn't work
Great location, convenient for motorway but in countryside
Website needs updating - no pool table or packed lunches
Easy to find, excellent breakfast, looked recently redecorated, clean and tidy. Nice communal areas. Room was warm enough, with all facilities.
Initial impression was that it Looks like a truck stop. Our room was in the annex, which was like a group of porta-cabins. The pump on the toilet was very loud, comments were made by other guests about it at breakfast.
The suites were realy spacious and comfortable. Food was good and staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble.
Poor food. Exterior surroundings.
Just off the M1 close to many attractions such as Chatsworth and National Trust properties. We had a room downstairs with a private terrace overlooking the countryside. Modern, clean and very comfortable. Restaurant popular with local people
Staff went all out lovely suite highly recommend
Rooms were comfortable
Rooms to small Expensive price did not include breakfast Would only recommend if other reasonably priced hotel's were fully booked
Everything - staff very friendly
Only gripe was our room did not have any opening windows, just doors to the balcony/decking outside. This made the room hot and stuffy at night even with a borrowed fan.
Everything, especially the fudge cake x
Excellent food and lovely staff, very comfortable room ( we had a suite)
Dreadful coffee in the morning! The outside could do with a make-over
Staff were excellent especially a lady called Rebecca. Clean and a well run establishment. Much better than it looked at first impression.
We were supposed to check into a relaxing cottage with booking.com near to Twin Oaks. The cottage was double booked by booking.com and we were diverted to this hotel on the day of check in. The location of hotel was not the most appealing, it felt like a lorry park next to the M1 and had no facilities for an expensive rate.
Handy for motorway Gareth - very helpful and friendly
Mould spores in allocated room, and had requested that room not on ground floor. We were moved- thank you Car boot next door crating lots of dust and slight difficulty parking due to cues coming away from building
Everything was fantastic really can't wait to go back even though there was a wedding on all the staff made us feel very welcome
The staff made special effort to ensure my daughter and son-in-laws wedding night had those special finishing touches. The room / bed was decorated with some lovely finishing touches. MANY THANKS TO ALL THE TWIN OAKS STAFF FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO DETAIL.
Loved the terrace and the shower, fantastic pressure.Staff could not do enough.
Room could have been a little cleaner, authough not dirty a little grubby around skirting boards. Edge strips in corridor not very visible would suggest contrasting colour.
It was quiet Lovely view from the breakfast room. It looked green and fresh dispite the rain I would not mind staying here again
The room was stuffy The bed was only very slightly hard and could be improved by adding a thin layer of memory foam to each mattress. You could do one per month to keep cost down
The hotel is ideally located when you are travelling on the M1. We liked the cleanliness and the decoration of the room. The bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the evening meal we had at the hotel. Bed and dinner were value for money. In general, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
Unfortunately breakfast was not value for money. There was only one person responsible for breakfast and he couldn't cope. I had to ask for coffee, croissants and fruit (included in the continental breakfast) myself. I never got the fruit. The toast was burned because of the toaster not working properly.
The staff were very accommodating. Rang as soon as booked to tell me there was a large wedding party in the hotel on Sat evening. When I asked for a quiet room they upgraded me to a suite at far end of faclity and apart from a false fire alarm ( not the hotels fault) everything over my 3 nights stay was peaceful.
Nice hotel with friendly staff
Restaurant was excellent
Mattresses were very obviously cheap or worn out It was like sleeping on a door That aside everything else was good
We had a suite room with a balcony which was perfect. Decor was 1st class bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows. The restaurant had a good choice of meals excellent value for money and excellent quality. Breakfast choice was also excellent.
