I stayed in this hotel the night before my wedding and the staff were amazing on the day sending the photographer up to the room when needed and letting me check out a little bit later. The food was amazing for breakfast and had a enjoyable stay there.
The hotel was a bit hard to get to in the dark from where I was but this isn't anything the hotel did wrong. The bar would have been amazing if it was open a bit later for staying guests.
Bed was comfortable
In the middle of nowhere with no phone coverage, overpriced food and an unreliable taxi service which nearly made us miss out flight
Great location opposite Chipperfield common. Ground floor communal rooms are attractive.
Breakfast was at best average and complete chaos. Nowhere near enough staff on Sunday morning and everything on the buffet ran out and staff had to be prompted to replenish. Staff gave no hint that customer service was anywhere on their agenda.
Bar food, easy check in, comfy bed, friendly bar staff, Good light breakfast.
Morning staff a bit grumpy
Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Food was very good, both breakfast and evening meal.
Not enough lighting in room.
The fact that there were no soaps in the bathroom apart from a soap dispenser on the shower wall. There was too small an amount of tea, coffee etc and the kettle was faulty. The price commands a little more than the value we received in basic customer care and facilities.
the staff where lovely couldn't be more helpful with special thanks to Karen would visit again
beds where a bit soft for my liking
We stayed with a wedding party and somehow ending up paying almost double what all of our friends payed for the exact same room. The following morning we were served breakfast (which we payed extra for) that came with no toast and drinks at an extra cost. All in all I found this a very exspensive stay for what it was.
Atmosphere great, lovely location, friendly staff & real fires burning :)
Bed was uncomfortable :(
Outlook was fantastic and food very good. Would go back :)
The bar shut without us being told and although we were staying in the hotel wernt allowed a late drink !
We stayed overnight after a party in nearby Berkhamstead; pleasant room, attentive staff, breakfast a bit slow but overall well within our budget.
Not Two Brewers fault, but we were badly let down by the taxi service arranged by the hotel. Hopefully this has been sorted, but check about Rainbow Taxis!!
Huge comfy bed, nice bar and restaurant area, good good, welcoming staff
Bathroom too dark to apply make up
ambiance was very relaxing
Location is lovely. Food was nice.
we were not allowed to linger in dining room after dinner when bar closed, yet not allowed to purchase drinks to take up to room. Coffee and tea kept running out at breakfast. Generally rather disorganised.
great location friendly staff, nice room(blackout curtains and blinds keep the light out) clean and tidy
food mediocre for the price public areas too hot good cooked breakfast but let down tepid tea and coffee in flask and having to ask for things like teaspoons and clean dishes etc.
The hotel is in a prime location for Harry Potter Studios. Staff excellent and very friendly. Rooms really comfortable with massive fluffy bed. Evening meal cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced, well done chef, breakfast just has good with plenty of choice. Fantastic village location a very midsummer murder setting, beautiful. Definitely will be making another visit. Thank you for a lovely stay. Mr. & Mrs Duro
Not been able to stay longer.
Although it was a large place it was very quiet. Breakfast was spot on, and staff very helpful.Very clean. Would stay again.
That there was no shampoo etc and shower cap.
Very pleasant staff, good food, warm and cosy
Room lighting very poor, almost dark, wallpaper coming off one wall, one bed had metal spring protruding through fabric, poor quality mattresses
The room was big, it had a huge bed, a big wardrobe, a good sized desk and 2 comfy chairs. The en-suite had a bath and plenty of towels. The restaurant had a good menu and the food was good.
On arrival the room was cold and took forever to warm up, but the next day it was roasting and the radiator didn't get any cooler when I turned it down. The shower was poor, there was as much water running down the hose as was coming out the head.
Location Good sized bedroom Very cosy with open fires Decent selection of beers Fairly priced wine list
Staff definitely let the place down and the management is very hit and miss. No shower hats or kleenex in the bathrooms. Food is formulaic Brakes Brothers and tasteless
Staff very friendly and helpful. Very clean and comfortable room. Cosy atmosphere in the pub/ restaurant. Food excellent!
The shower needs to be updated.
Beautiful location, pub was warm and friendly with a good selection of pub food. On our first day we travelled into London for the day - £8 in a taxi (or 10 min drive) to Kings Langley Train Station then £28 for a daily travel ticket which we used all over London using train/tube. On our second day we drove to the Harry Potter tour (15 min drive) which was superb. We did have an issue on check in with some confusion between booking.com and the hotel with regard to our breakfast arrangement - the lady we checked in with wasn't overly helpful but the manager redeemed the situation when we checked out and was more than happy to help us resolve the situation. The bar and waiting staff were all lovely. Room was very clean and cosy and the surrounding area was beautiful. Our children were made welcome and we had a great family break together.
Nothing to dislike !
A staff member (older lady) was severe to say the least - impatient & grumpy - part of our group not native English speakers - she was intolerant
loved the log fire and cider on tap with real english food
Location Ambience of bar/restaurant pleasant staff
Gluten free book on ingredients but it stated soya sauce, which was in a lot of dishes, was gluten free which it is not. Windows outside need painting. Poor lighting in bedroom
