Friendly host, great location and peaceful sleep
A first class stay especially if you appreciate quiet, rural surroundings. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The hosts were gracious, obliging and superb cooks. The 'cordon blue' quality evening meal had to be experienced to be appreciated whilst a well selected wine list was on offer. Breakfast was a generous selection of local produce, the bacon being especially tasty. All in all a most enjoyable and excellent value stay
Nothing to dislike
Very welcoming owners, beautiful property, beautiful room, every detail covered from the bubble bath through to advice on local pubs and walks. Also, the best Welsh breakfast I've had in a long time! Already planning to stop again after scaling Snowdon. Thank you!
My friend and I stayed one night at Ty Derw, being in Wales for a railway weekend. Upon arrival we had a very warm welcome and offered a cup of tea or coffee. The bedrooms, food and overall accommodation was excellent. There were so many nice finishing touches such as the tea, coffee, milk and sugar in the bedroom contained in a decorated glass topped box on a tray. The bedrooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bathrooms were also spacious and again with many decorative finishing touches. The surroundings are beautiful and located centrally for visiting anywhere in Wales This very much deserves its five star rating and I would certainly recommend this to anyone whether staying for a weekend or longer. I will certainly stay here when next in Wales.
There was nothing not to like
Very good B & B. I was made to feel welcome and had a very good nights sleep prior to the Bala triathlon. Good location for the triathlon as it took approx. 35 mins to get to Bala the next morning. Owners were very helpful and accommodating.
Hosts very welcoming Superb food and service The bed Location and ambience of the property.
Nothing really. Perhaps a lighter duvet would have helped.
Everything about Ty Derw was superb, from the quality of finish in the property to the delicious breakfast and first class service from the friendly hosts. A perfect base from which to explore the stunning Snowdonia National Park.
The warm & friendly welcoming hosts, the immactulately clean B&B and the breakfast (local & fresh, cooked to order). A very enjoyable break in a quiet & beautiful location.
There was nothing to dislike!!!!!
Nice tranquil location, ideal for relaxing or touring.
The signage from the main road could have been better as the Sat Nav couldn't find it.
Beautiful house and setting. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with a little character. Loved the big bathroom! The owner went out of her way to get up early and make us full welsh breakfast (which was very good!) as we needed to leave early.
Shower, it is quite old and the water splashes everywhere.
The setting, the bedrooms, the breakfast, the friendly reception.
The stay was not long enough
As a solo traveller it's really important to feel at ease. At Ty Derw I was made to feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble - I was even served breakfast on the patio outside my room. As for the bed - it was divine. A very expensive mattress - beware, you won't want to get out of bed!!
Leaving to come home!
Relaxed but efficient . Lovely breakfast. Beautiful decor. Couple are really nice.
Excellent hosts and the breakfast and dinner exceeded expectations. Infact everything exceeded our expectations.
Everything was great, warm welcome from Jackie and Richard. Would recommend Ty Derw to all. Very clean and tidy. Special living area for guests. Great breakfast.
Shower was a bit small but did not detract from overall impression of property and stay.
The room was extremely clean and tidy with fantastic facilities such as a brilliant bathroom. The views were breathtaking of the Welsh countryside. Finally breakfast was superb with a great range of fresh local ingredients, I couldn't recommend highly enough.
Friendly accommodating hosts nice location, lovely food, excellent room would recommend!!
Wifi was slightly hit and miss in my particular room but it wasn't a major gripe..
Very friendly owners. Great breakfast. Spotless.
Good quality b&b in peaceful rural location.Excellent breakfast ,very pleasant hosts.
Very quiet. Warm, very welcoming and friendly owners.
Great place and so welcoming....
I would highly recommend this B&B to everyone. The service provided here was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, I was really made to feel at home. The rooms were spotless and had all the facilities you would expect in a hotel including tea & coffee, tv, hairdryer. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The location was stunning. I wish I could have stayed longer...
I'm not easily pleased but its difficult to find any faults with this place. My only suggestion for improvement would be better wifi reception, however when you're in the middle of the beautiful welsh countryside there are better things to be doing with your time than surfing the web..
Big comfortable room, quiet location, delicious breakfast.
Skylight made the room bright at 5am. Wifi signal was not very reliable.
This was by far the best B&B we ever used. The hosts were extremely friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. The familly dogs are very friendly and great fun. The surrounding area does not have many attractions but is within driving distance to most objectives of Snowdonia and makes up with the great silance and greenery. Great relaxation spot.
