Score from 130 reviews Very good
Good room and restaurant / bar food and prices made it not worth going elsewhere for meals. Central location for west Cornwall days out.
Good location, excellent food
Just a bit of noise from bar but when you know it's there it's not a big deal
The rooms were very clean and comfortable.Staff very helpful and had a great stay at TYACKS.
Music a bit loud but did sleep well.
The young staff on reception were friendly and helpful in booking taxis, finding us a quiet room and getting towels for the room when requested.
We had requested a quiet room on the booking form, but this had to be rearranged on arrival. The gluten free food request was only passed to the kitchen on arrival, so too late for breakfast the next morning. The room was short of towels.
Friendly and helpful staff. Large room with good bathroom en-suite. Good food with adequate choice. Adjacent car park. 'Angel' - the house cat!
Lack of lift - door on stairs makes awkward access to upper level. Noise from disco etc.
Room large and warm
Breakfast was overcooked. We both had the impression it had been cooked earlier and kept warm as bacon and fried bread was hard and crisp and sausage was overcooked
Staff were brilliant. Room was really spacious and cosy worth the up grade
Unfortunately the restaurant left a lot to be desired with an over zealous chef and breakfast was good but the pots were dirty and had to be changed twice
Bathroom, food, beer, Wifi, coffee and hot chocolate in room, car park, staff.
Noisy sash window, curious and penetrating wurring noise from bathroom(when fan off), Music across the road, plastic mattress cover.
Staff friendly, very comfortable room, breakfast yummy & car parking.
Many stairs & many doors replace the gym or in my case physiotherapy (;-). Sincerely, not very suitable for people with mobility problems
The staff were wonderful and nothing any trouble. Breakfast was one of the best we have been offered. Ate in the restaurant on the Friday night and had excellent meal with excellent service and price. Good car parking and so close to major sight seeing places around Cornwall.
Rather noisy with live band on the Friday night, we had been warned but sure the decibels didn't need to be that high in such a small area.
Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast out of this world!!!! Superb - Jack's too large for my hungry husband to finish - Jenny's just right! Toast nice and thick not your usual thin, sliced bread!!!
Too many stairs, too many doors, no option for heating (not on in hotel) despite chilly september mornings and evenings. Totally unsuitable for people with any mobility problems as all rooms involve climbing a stair case and no lift to help - understandable in view of age of building.
The room was excellent and very large and we were especially impressed with the bathroom and it was very quiet no traffic noise or music from below. The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff generally were very friendly and helpful, except the waitress but one swallow doesn't make a summer! The cooked part of the breakfast was excellent, good quality ingredients well prepared.
The quiet was a little spoiled by the water tank which kept refilling above our heads in the morning. The breakfast was not enhanced by the not 100% effusive waitress who was banging chairs about re-arranging the tables whilst we were eating, obviously wanting to get her shift finished! The breakfast room wasn't exactly spotless either I know it had been used as a restaurant the night before but the overall impression was of dusty skirtings and smudgy mirrors, but this can be the case when staying in pub type hotels and it wouldn't prevent me staying here again.
Wi-Fi worked really well for the first couple of days. Comfy bed. Very clean when I arrived. Good food in the restaurant. Excellent breakfasts. Really pleasant people. I would stay again if I needed somewhere in that area of Cornwall.
Wi-Fi was dodgy for the rest of the week. Single room was very noisy partly because of the bar underneath but also from the road outside (Camborne really needs to sort out their locals with excessively noisy cars & motorbikes!) Difficult to get to & from using public buses, especially in the evenings (train service was probably a lot better & there is a car park).
Had a lovely stay at the Tyacks Hotel. Friendly staff, clean and tidy and great food. I would definaty stay here again.
Food and service staff made us feel welcome
Noise late at night understand there are groups on but did wake us up and bed was hard wifi was poor ...
To noisy on Friday night . Had no sleep till very late
Probably the cleanest hotel in the country. The bar meal that we had was excellent and the staff were welcoming and friendly.
We had to park nearby and ask for directions to access the car-park. (Maybe a map should be sent out to prospective guests)
Excellent breakfast, cheerful and helpful staff, lots of hot water for my bath
the noise from the bar in the evening as it was Satuday night although this was made very clear on the website when booking
The location is perfect just at the heart of the town with easy access to shops.. The good is great although its plated..' The staff are attentive and friendly
the service the accomadation good facilities very good food
noisy traffic and people at turningout timefrom pubs but they could not be blamed for that??? there was only horse and carts when that hotel was built..
beautiful back yard
cooked breakfast but staff lovely
Staff were great on the whole - friendly and helpful. Food was okay for pub grub.Location was perfect for what we wanted.
The bed was really uncomfortable, with a cheap mattress; bathroom window wouldn't open; frosty reception at breakfast at 9.45am, when breakfast is served until 10; NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! If you want to get to sleep then find somewhere else. The pub itself is extremely noisy and is in an unbearably noisy position: street noise from constant traffic and drunks was unbelievable, on top of which we had noise from the room above until 3am on one night. We realise that this isn't entirely the fault of the hotel, but we have never been anytwhere as bad, and we travel a lot. We were kindly given a small discount on our bill of £10 per night, but we will never stay at Tyacks again, having left with bad backs and feeling totally exhausted.
Reasonably priced hotel. Good value menu food freshly prepared
Not easy access to room with suitcase as at top of building via stairs with many doors. No lift available
Extremely comfortable room. Friendly staff. Convenient, large parking area.
