Comfortable and relaxing. Good food. Owner (Male) was a bit aloof and indifferent. Not living up to the friendly reports we had read beforehand. All other staff were very engaging, friendly and helpful.

Nice location for a hotel & inn with "olde worlde" charms ( i do not like plasic modern hotels ).. Staff we very friendly and the food both breakfast & evening meal were excellent.. Drinks prices are fair too... Nice short walk to the town... A great location... I was very happy with our stay in Ty Gwyn Hotel and will stay again later this year.... nothing to say !!!!!!!!!!!

The inn is very atmospheric which has been comfortably furnished, particularly in the bedrooms, without any loss of atmosphere. The staff were very helpful. The food was obviously prepared with great care and presented attractively. This inn is a great find and we will definitely return. One big big let down: as a maker of marmalade the Robertsons clear marmalade was a big let down. I would also respectfully suggest that there might be a local bee keeper who could provide some rather ore interesting honey. Some fresh fruit might also be welcome. The pity is that the cooked breakfast was excellent with top marks for the bacon. The above are in our opinion very small flaws in what was otherwise a faultless experience.

The public areas had some lovely furniture and a wonderful 'country retreat' ambience. The food was very good, their fillet steak was marvelous. As a location to tour Snowdonia I dont think it could be bettered, it was approximately 15 minutes drive from the mountain. The river immediately outside lent an air of tranquility and provided a lullaby to fall asleep to. We found the decor in our room not to our taste, it was very outdated. However, from what we saw the other rooms were better.

The Hotel is quaint, characteristic and romantic for any type of break. The restaurent is fabulous and the staff extremely friendly. A fantastic location situated a few miles out from Snowdon and very picturesque, with nearby walks through forest glens. Due to the reputation of Ty Gwyn and the fabulous restaurent it can get busy, with little parking facilities when combined with staying guests, patrons and visitors. In need of some modernisation in some of the rooms (radiators, shower facilities etc) but to be expected when considering the age and specifications of the building.

It is clear that the owners are making every effort to ensure clients satisfaction. Whilst some of the furniture may not have been to our taste its quality cannot be denied. The food in the restaurant can only be classed as superb. We have dined there before and it was a major influence on our choice of where to stay. The restaurant was busy, on a saturday night in december, yet the service was excellent, well paced and spot on. The hotel does have a problem with parking. Located on the busy a5 its car park holds only a few cars resulting in most being parked on what is a narrow section of road. Make sure you arrive early of be prepared to dive out and move your car to a safer place. I don't know what the management can do about it but this might upset a few folk.

We have dined at the ty gwyn many times over many years so we were familiar with the hotel and its standards. View to the rear of the hotel from our room, room 10,left a lot to be desired.

Ty Gwyn is relaxed, friendly, efficient, has lovely rooms and the food is great. What more do you need? It's a perfect location for a weekend amongst spectacular scenery. Loads of things to do and see within a short walk/drive. Can't fault it!

Even though hotel was empty, would not check us in until 3:00. Very uncomfortable bed in small dated room. Was absolutely not worth the price paid. Reservation was for 2 nights. When we requested at checkin to change to one night, the hotel owner demanded a 58 pound penalty fee for the second night that we did not stay. Above issues compounded by inadequate parking facilities.

The food was excellent..Hotel quaint Hotel far too close to main road. Bedrooms at front of hotel which made it impossible to get a full nights sleep with heavy traffic passing. Bedroom required redecorating and the shower room was very tiny. We would not consider staying at this place again.

Wonderfully authentic old inn. It oozed Old England. Food was outstanding Parking could be a problem if you didn't arrive by dinner hour. Not sure they can do much about it. Felt like we were very exposed to traffic but it's like that at many places in Wales I'm sure

The restaurant food is excellent! Make sure you make reservations, though. The hotel is quaint, cozy, and antiquated... The hotel is on the main busy road so if your room is facing the street you may not get a good night sleep. The windows provide no sound isolation. The shower pressure was very low in our room (top floor).

The hotel was small and cosy and very popular. This was probably because of the amazing food and excellent choice of drinks. Lots of choice, served piping hot and very tasty. Lots of it too. We even had port served in cut glass crystal glasses. The rooms were clean although small and a bit mis matched. Not hurried at meals. Would recommend for food Initially we were disapponted as the hotel was on busy road. Parking very limited and had to park on the road. Room bit poky. 4 poster bed very small. Hot at night, couldnt open window. No Bath. Bathroom door took up all free space in bathroom. Kept catching body on door. Noisy saniflo or shower next door.
