We came back to Betws Y Coed for our 25th Anniversary, as this is where we came for our Honeymoon. Helpful and approachable staff, location was perfect, absolutely delicious food and a wide variety too. Plenty to do and visit in the area.
Fascinating place. Very old and quirky!! Loved our bedroom with the four poster bed. Food was lovely and staff very helpful.
Just felt that it could have been a bit warmer. Was very chilly throughout.
The lack of Parking
The village is lovely, as is that part of wales generally.
Poor lighting. Uncomfortable seating in public spaces. Food ok but not great.
Set just outside the village, the Coaching Inn is old and atmospheric. Craig the barman / almost everything man, was a real tryer - top marks for that! The food was good though nowhere near as good as the raving reviews elsewhere.
It was noisy at night. Our room (3) seemed to be affected badly by the creaking floorboards of others and internal and external noise was an issue. Having nowhere to bar area in which to sit after the meal was a real pain.
The meals and bar were great.
The staff were very helpful as we had a problem not of their doing and Martin the proprietor could not have been more helpful. Diana & Jim
Location was excellent, Food was much better than expected with very interesting menu, Very friendly proprietor
Liked it all
The olde world feel of this coaching inn was very nice. The wooden beams, copper jugs and furnishings etc in bar made it a pleasasnt place to relax in . We ate in the restaurant which was quite good with a wide variety of choice. The room we had was comfortable and clean with a nice view. It was facing onto the main road which is just at times with traffic but the noise did not affect us at all unlike some other reviews on here. It is an easy walk into the town also. Overall a nice place to stay!
We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast but unforunately on both occasions too close to a loud and obnoxious female guest threatening her teen children she would make them do a longer walk if they didn't want to do a shorter one in line with what she wanted but clearty they didn't . She was from somewhere in the south of England with one of those very annoying accents (think Mrs Bouquet) and boy was she a pain to listen to! I thought the dining area lacked atmosphere and perhaps some background music would have improved the atmosphere and also helped drown out Mrs Bouquet!!! Rant over! Apart from loud mouth all was fine.
very old inn, wonderful food, great breakfast, all bedrooms different, prefer bedrooms in the front.
We reserved a standard room which was not adequate: very small, low ceiling, poor ventilation. The staff upgraded us for one night to a nice room with a 4 poster bed. Nice breakfast.
Little parking. The hotel sits right on the main road and it is somewhat noisy. We would have preferred a hotel in town.
Lovely old inn preserved beautifully. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. the bed was very comfortable. A selection of at least three real ales. The breakfast was tasty and set us up for the day - no need to think about lunch!
It is difficult to think of anything negative. Car parking is limited and if the small car park is full you've no choice but to park on the main road as close to the inn as possible.
The hotel is located within walking distance of the main township and offers clean comfortable accommodation. Breakfast is high quality with plenty of choice. As expected with a building built in the 1600's stairs could be a challenge for some. Overall a pleasant stay and would recommend .
Food. Location . Quaintness
Poor parking facility
Friendly and attentive staff, comfortable beds, homely atmosphere. Modern facilities in a "bygone setting" Reminded us of childhood days and great-grandparent's cottages.
Located very close to roadside, (Ancient Coaching Inn) as are most hotels in this town. However, this did not detract too much from the ambiance of the hotel and a very pleasurable visit.
The room was a lovely, large character room. The staff were really helpful. The food in the restaurant was outstanding and the waiting staff were knowlegable about the massive menu.
The room was quite hot and dark , but in fairness the darkness was due to the period of the cottage . The spa bath was lovely but really noisy.s
The food was excellent with lots of choice on the menu, good portions, very friendly and helpful staff and owner.
Beautiful building, inside and out. Helpful staff. Great atmosphere in restaurant and bar at night. Close enough to walk into town and surrounding area.
Difficult getting in and out of car park due to situation on busy road.
Food, accommodation, welcome
Parking Wait for food
Lovely, clean well kept and well run hotel, run by enthusiastic and helpful staff. The food was excellent both at dinner and breakfast.
The only complaint, and it would be small is that there is not quite enough car parking available at the hotel on the main road.
Location, traditional old inn, good food choice, friendly staff.
Parking on very busy A5 outside Inn, very confined shower area, lack of bottled drinking water in room. Room rates high and not true value for money.
Lovely hotel great food good value for money stunning location .all staff most helpfull
Evening was hosted by a young gentlemen & the lady that took over who were helpful, informative & pleasant.
Morning breakfast was served by dour, un communicative young lady who influenced our overall opinion of our pleasant stay.
