We reserved a standard room which was not adequate: very small, low ceiling, poor ventilation. The staff upgraded us for one night to a nice room with a 4 poster bed. Nice breakfast.
Little parking. The hotel sits right on the main road and it is somewhat noisy. We would have preferred a hotel in town.
Lovely old inn preserved beautifully. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. the bed was very comfortable. A selection of at least three real ales. The breakfast was tasty and set us up for the day - no need to think about lunch!
It is difficult to think of anything negative. Car parking is limited and if the small car park is full you've no choice but to park on the main road as close to the inn as possible.
The hotel is located within walking distance of the main township and offers clean comfortable accommodation. Breakfast is high quality with plenty of choice. As expected with a building built in the 1600's stairs could be a challenge for some. Overall a pleasant stay and would recommend .
Food. Location . Quaintness
Poor parking facility
Friendly and attentive staff, comfortable beds, homely atmosphere. Modern facilities in a "bygone setting" Reminded us of childhood days and great-grandparent's cottages.
Located very close to roadside, (Ancient Coaching Inn) as are most hotels in this town. However, this did not detract too much from the ambiance of the hotel and a very pleasurable visit.
The room was a lovely, large character room. The staff were really helpful. The food in the restaurant was outstanding and the waiting staff were knowlegable about the massive menu.
The room was quite hot and dark , but in fairness the darkness was due to the period of the cottage . The spa bath was lovely but really noisy.s
The food was excellent with lots of choice on the menu, good portions, very friendly and helpful staff and owner.
Beautiful building, inside and out. Helpful staff. Great atmosphere in restaurant and bar at night. Close enough to walk into town and surrounding area.
Difficult getting in and out of car park due to situation on busy road.
Food, accommodation, welcome

Lovely, clean well kept and well run hotel, run by enthusiastic and helpful staff. The food was excellent both at dinner and breakfast.
The only complaint, and it would be small is that there is not quite enough car parking available at the hotel on the main road.
Location, traditional old inn, good food choice, friendly staff.
Parking on very busy A5 outside Inn, very confined shower area, lack of bottled drinking water in room. Room rates high and not true value for money.
Lovely hotel great food good value for money stunning location .all staff most helpfull
Evening was hosted by a young gentlemen & the lady that took over who were helpful, informative & pleasant.
Morning breakfast was served by dour, un communicative young lady who influenced our overall opinion of our pleasant stay.
Friendly staff and excellent food.
Very busy restaurant and bar licence if you were eating in restaurant. Had to walk a fair distance into the village, however no problem for us we enjoyed this.
Good choice of menu for the evening meals and excellent food.
Position of Hotel on very busy road which was noisy in the evening and early morning. Hotel quite shabby. Breakfasts uneventful. Disappointing.
Very comfortable. Excellent food, wide choice. Great location for visiting N. Wales.
Nothing Really. WiFi could be improved to enable connection in rooms, however I was able to get a connection in the reception so no real problems
We very much liked the character of the hotel with its charm & quaint individuality. On arrival we were upgraded to a four poster room due to my request of a quiet room on the booking request. Food was excellent.
Nowhere to sit outside unfortunately.
Rooms and breakfast much improved and updated since our last stay a few years back. Staff very friendly and helpful..
Access to rooms awkward as landing narrow and in places cluttered with furniture and other items. However, being an old coaching Inn we came to expect this. Our room was at the rear of the hotel so we did have some smells and noise from the extractor fans when the kitchen was in use. With the hotel being on the edge of the A5 traffic noise was inevitable
The location,good food
No seating to the outside of the hotel
Food was excellent
Needed a new toilet seat in the room
Great food but need to book as very popular.
Some road noise.
Very friendly staff, ideal location for touring North Wales, excellent food.
Proximity to busy road. Morning coffee from machine only lukewarm.
beautifully decorated, fantastic food, spotlessly clean, nice walking distance into Betsy.
bed too small, traffic noise very noisy due to this we will not stay overnight again.
Steeped in history. Quaint. Clean Quirky. Comfortable. AMAZING restaurant. FANTASTIC top dining. Friendly staff. Gorgeous.
