Having to leave!!
The location was beautiful and peaceful. Housekeeping was absolutely perfect and nothing was left to chance. Phil and Jen were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble, and they provided plenty of information on local places of interest, restaurants etc. Breakfasts were superb - home made preserves, local smoked salmon, bacon and wonderful eggs from their own hens.

Everything! The welcome, the food, the fire, the rooms, the peace and tranquility and the fabulous views. Phil & Jen were the ultimate hosts and their home is very tasteful, a credit to them and their hard work. We will definitely go back.

Faultless nothing negative to say.
Phil and Jen were very attentive and helpful, we were greeted with tea and welsh cakes. Phil recommended fantastic walks in the area and the breakfast was delicious. Lovely room with fantastic views, faultless stay. Thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to visit again.

The room was very comfortable and had free wifi and a dvd player, which was nice to be able to watch a film in bed! The cooked breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of choice too. We were looked after very well by Phil and Jen and were made to feel very welcome. An added bonus was that there were 3 donkeys there who enjoyed a bit of fuss from the guests! I would recommend this B&B to family and friends.

Having stayed for 3 nights recently, I cannot speak highly enough of Tyllwd Hir. It appears that Phil and Jen think meticulously about every minute detail to make their guests' stay as enjoyable as possible. The whole house was beautiful, including our bedroom, which had stunning views. It was spotlessly clean and full of nice little touches; excellent selection of tea and coffee, flowers, fruit (replenished daily) and chocolate. The breakfast was delicious. Wherever possible local produce is used and the smoked salmon (from Crickhowell) was the best I've ever had. Phil was full of knowledge about the area and recommended several good walks. All in all, a fantastic few days. I would definitely stay again.

Only thing I didn't like was the road getting to the B&B, but once you got there, it was worth it!
The view of the countryside was absolutely beautiful!! Our room was excellent and very, very clean. The breakfast was wonderful too. Phil and Jen went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable

Tyllwyd Hir is without exception the best B&B we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in several luxury and boutique B&B's over the last few years. Phil and Jen are the most charming, delightful hosts who have thought of everything that guests would expect and then thought of more. We had only been at their home for half an hour before we both commented that we would be back. A cream tea awaited us upon our arrival, served in the lounge with its stunning view. Our room (The White Room) was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and had breathtaking views over the Brecon Beacons. Complimentary fruit, locally produced chocolates, luxury toiletries and binoculars for watching the birds and wildlife from our window were all provided. Our choice of breakfast was served at a time that suited us and was of the highest standard. Phil and Jen have perfected the skill of being the most helpful, kind and considerate hosts whilst respecting their guests' privacy and space. We took the opportunity to sit outside one evening to enjoy the views and Phil arrived with cushions for the chairs. It is simple, extra touches such as this that set them and their B&B above all others. A real pleasure to stay here, our next visit cannot come around too soon. I doubt we will find anywhere that surpasses Tyllwyd Hir. Thanks Phil and Jen.

There was nothing not to like.
Everything about Ty Llwyd Hir is first class. Our room was spotlessly clean with high class furniture and accessories. Breakfast was plentiful and prepared to perfection...as were the cakes and drinks served on our arrival. The multitude of small birds (including the Woodpeckers) were a bonus...especially viewed through the binoculars provided in our room. Jen and Phil have obviously put a lot of time and effort to make Ty Llwyd Hir well worthy of its 5 star rating, and we wish them continued success.

Phil and Jen have done a great job with their B&B. Their concern for your comfort is paramount and we wanted for nothing. A pleasure to stay here and you do truly get a real "welcome in the hillside". This place deserves a full "10".

yllwyd Hir BnB is a gem. Phil and Jen have done a remarkable job at renovating an old house to 5 star quality. Everything was perfect from the warm reception to the views to the breakfasts to the immaculate detail of the finishings within the house. Our bedroom was immaculately clean - comfortable bed, top quality linen, clean shower and toilet - what more do you want? Nice touches too with top quality chocolates, soap, shampoo and creams. Tea and coffee available in the room and we were privileged to be served afternoon tea and cake when we arrived back each day - what a nice touch. Phil even booked us dinner at the "local" - "The Goose and Cuckoo" where the food was excellent. There is a Michelin 5 star rating on Tyllwyd Hir and deservedly so. We drove to the famous Lyn e Fan Fach(aprox. 20 minutes drive) and walked to the half way stage where there is a beautiful lake and awesome views. Just around the corner from there is a place to view feeding of wild kites (3pm) every day, well worth a visit. There are amazing waterfalls to view in the area too plus a few castles. Not to be missed is a drive over the top of the Black Mountains - absolutely stunning - we were lucky enough to see wild ponies which were grazing not 5m from where we stopped. So if you want a quiet, high quality BnB in the Brecon Beacons book this place now- you will not be disappointed. I have stayed in BnB's all over the world and Tyllwyd Hir is among the best. I really mean it. Thanks Phil and Jen - we had a fantastic stay.
