Nothing could have been finer! We have stayed here many times and it is a WONDERFUL hotel. Don't miss it.
very responsive staff upgraded for free
Quality of accommodation, and variety of facilities. Immediate surrounding area and views, as well as choice of nearby places to visit, and particularly wide selection of good country pubs.
While the staff were friendly and obliging, the service was poor. They brought out the wrong order on one occasion, and on another occasion a warm glass of white wine. They fixed the problem, but to happen twice in 2 days was poor.
location, breakfast, room,grounds,staff
room was too hot, but accept that air-conditioning in this type of building is impractical.
Surroundings, facilities, cleaniness,curtosey of staff
Location and tiredness of our room, due to having a dog!! Bathroom was very basic.
Beautiful house and gardens, faultless staff, with fine dining.
The rooms were extremely hot, and good old health & safety ment the windows could not be opened very far.
Great breakfast.Amazing grounds,and gardens.Very friendly staff,and lovely public rooms.
Although my booking was made well in advance, the room was poor, almost against a brick wall.I telephoned the hotel prior to arrival, asking if it were a refurbished one,and was told no,but a very beautiful one,it was not. It was very shabby and needed attention in a big way.As I was only there for a week-end I did not complain.
...And we will return! The grounds are stunning, and the house is lovely; both with lots of places to explore for little people. The rooms are spacious. The breakfast is great, and we all look forwarde to it from one day to the next. The pools are also fab! And the gift bag for little people waiting on the extra bed upon arrivial makes children and parentes feel very welcome.
Cannot think of anything.
The Hotel and surroundings were beautiful, it was very relaxing and peaceful. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and the room was very comfortable. It was a lovely place to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and would not hesitate in staying there again.
Although the staff in the Oak Dining Room were extremely pleasant, we did find it difficult to understand what they were saying, which made us feel rather uncomfortable. Also the Hotel towels could be softer.
Great outdoor pool and fabulous grounds. Excellent fruit for breakfast especially the berries. Great service. Room upgrade
WiFi didn't work for us, even the paid for upgrade to "fast". Dinner service went a little "pear shaped". Steak not what I had hoped for
All of it
Didn't have any complaints
Good location and setting
Staff service was awful and had massive problems with our check-ins. The bar was awful and drinks were more expensive than London prices. Bar staff could only speak broken English and could not serve drinks properly. If you are spending over £10 on a Gin & Tonic, you expect it to be done properly and with a smile
Everything, very nice rooms, great afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast. Beautifully kept gardens. Lovely old country house atmosphere.
Staff were the best I've encountered. Nothing was to much trouble.
Furniture starting to look a bit worse for wear.
It was perfect weekend and exactly what we needed. Thank you Tylney Hall for a truly wonderful weekend. The walk between the house and our garden room was always such a pleasure. The staff were polite and attentive and the beds and pillows the most comfortable of any UK hotel. A perfect night sleep.
Other than more lighting on the paths to outside rooms at night and the radiator noise.
Beautiful hotel and grounds. Lovely goodie bag for children. Excellent facilities and staff - we really enjoyed our stay.
Only two very small criticisms: one was that we booked a table for dinner for 6.30 (I was told when I phoned to book that 6.30 was when dinner service began - I think normally it is 7.00, but in school holidays it's a little earlier). At 6.35 there was no sign of any staff in the dining room. I went and asked at reception and after a further ten minutes we were seated at a table, but the staff were still setting up etc, and it was clear that the service hadn't been due to start till 7. So that was a bit awkward and we felt a bit as if were imposing upon the staff. The service was efficent, but there was no apology for the delay. The other point is just that they could maybe invest in a new high chair - the one we were given was pretty tattly and a bit grotty looking and not really in keeping with the rest of the restaurant. But neither of these points really impinged on a very pleasant stay.
the staff were very attentive and service was excellent. I loved the food and enjoyed my spa treatment.
unfortunately we arrived at the beginning of half term so there were a lot of children and it was very noisy especially around the pool areas. It was also quite annoying at breakfast to have children screaming. Some quiet, child free zones would be nice.

The staff and beautiful surroundings
We stayed in the garden suite some of the pieces of furniture looked tired .
Great location, nice grounds, rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Serving of wine at dinner was slow otherwise everything was very good
nice grand building, good function rooms, good old worldly feel.
very poor rooms for the money our first room #79 had very poor furniture very small bathroom, tea/coffee ring marks all over and flacking varnish. our final room altetter was well away from the main building with converted holiday camp buildings
Nice location, good menu choice at dinner. Excellent choice at breakfast.
Tables in the dining room are still placed far too close to one another. No privacy at dinner or breakfast. We actually felt uncomfortable at dinner because of the lack of privacy. For this reason we probably will not choose to stay at this hotel again.
