We enjoyed the setting of the house which included plenty of parking, lovely garden. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The fact our room (room 10) was above the kitchen which caused the room to be very warm (even with the window open) and it was quite noisy as there seemed to be an extractor fan below. The room only has a shower - no bath.
Everything. Location, staff, the accommodation and gardens and food were superb
Nothing, we enjoyed everything during our two night stay.
Comfortable bed, spacious room, very clean.Beautiful views out of the bedroom window overlooking the well maintained garden. Friendly staff helped create a relaxed atmosphere. Excellent breakfast with a good selection to choose from. Plenty of parking .spaces. Well maintained property, with a lot of thought gone into the presentation.
We didn't like the shower door not fitting properly, due to the grab handles of the bath obstructing it. We always had a wet floor because of it.Also the grab handle on the wall side of the bath was tiled so you couldn't get your hand around it making it not fit for purpose, which could be difficult if you only realised this when you needed to get out of the bath. People of a certain age might need grab handles. The towel rail was not big enough for the lovely towels, another larger rail would be an improvement.
it was very comfortable and staff were very friendly and helpful
The location is superb, quiet yet convenient. The food was first class and the staff friendly and very helpful. Altogether it makes a great place to stay.
One bed was a little soft and the sink in the bathroom low, and isolated with no shelf on which to put anything to hand. Very minor points these though!
The food is excellent and deserves to be a top ranked restaurant in its own right
The Staff were totally customer orientated. Nothing was too much trouble for them & always with a smile. Food was excellent & service exemplary. In fact food was "heavenly"! Bedroom was just right. We had Room 5-Ragged Robin. Tastefully furnished. Immaculately clean. Delightful en suite. The whole ambiance of the hotel was based on relaxation & enjoyment. Use of the lounge, conservatory & garden was a must in a big chill out venue. We will return in the not too distant future. Thank you to Laura & all the staff.
Peaceful Location Free Parking Breakfast Nice Staff and brilliant Manager Wonderful Garden
Price (it's a little bite expensive)
• Location • Size and comfort of bed • Food
• Loud repetitive noise from another room (not sure if it was an extractor fan, but it woke us both up at 6.30am) • Room door being left unlocked & ajar by housekeeping (albeit not intentional, could've resulted in loss of property)
A very quiet and peaceful location. Ideal for a short break with plenty of places to visit in the local area. Staff were very nice and the food was excellent; would definitely return.
Nothing that is worth commenting on.
setting, food, staff
Room and food was excellent
Hard bed and thin pillows
The quality and presentation of the food at breakfast and again in the evening was excellent. The staff were pleasant and helpful at all times. Our two day break was very relaxing and enjoyable.
Liqued soap no substitute for a small bar of soap. Only one bottle of water between two people seems a bit mean!
Everything especially the lobster!
'Out in the wilds' location with great views. Tidy gardens. Ample free parking. Comfortably furnished. Two spacious lounges. Well-stocked bar. Great breakfasts. Big bed.
Some staff members' attitudes and behaviours, on a few occasions, swung rather too quickly from fawning to sulky. Unwillingness of waitress to swap 'mash for chips' on a £29 fixed price two course evening dining menu. "I'm sorry that will have to be a £4 extra charge - there's nothing I can do". That's nickel and diming in my book. Rather cramped bedroom for a "King Courtyard" - more like a basic double in my experience.
A very warm, welcoming and relaxing few days-we were looked after superbly!
Nothing other than difficult salt cellars!!
Food was highest quality Staff treated us like Royalty Hotel is beautiful, picturesque Perfect atmosphere
Nothing to fault
Stayed here for our anniversary and couldn't have wished for a better place to stay from the food to the room and service everything was just perfect! A great reflection on the people who work and run the place. will definatley be returning.
THE FOOD WAS AMAZING TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD, THE ROOM WAS FAB
Excellent food, local beers, friendly & helpful staff
Loved everything about this beautiful country house hotel. The setting the accommodation the staff the food. Without exception everything was perfect.
Fabulous secluded retreat with kind and welcoming staff delicious food we will go back
Spent three nights in July. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was large and comfortable. When shown to our room they pointed out the noise from the kitchen extractor fan which I hadn't realised. They assured us it would be turned off by 9pm which it was and so didn't cause any issues. Food is excellent and breakfast is very large! Its only about 10 minutes from the Snowdon Mountain Railway so ideal for catching an early train. A good location if you want some where to stay before heading to the ferry to Ireland.
One of the best meals i have ever had.
Lovely room with lots of space, comfybed and everything you need. Perfect breakfast & friendly staff. Relaxing gardens & conservatory to enjoy evening drink from bar.
It was a very hot weekend but bathroom too hot, no air.
