The atmosphere that the host Derek creates for his guests is unlike the plastic money orientated staff at other modern hotels. Rooms comfortable Food excellent Bar with open roaring fire Anyone who complains about this hostelry has a problem.

Very comfortable, good food, nice staff, good beer, lovely fire, no problems. Location out of town easy to get to by road (Dogellau to Portmadog). I am comfortable to recommend it and to go back again

SKY TV remote allowed change of channels but had to get out of bed to change the TV volume.

Very friendly staff who were very accommodating. Room was spacious with very comfy beds!!!!! Overall it was clean, comfortable and we had an enjoyable stay. Food also nice.

Hot water system needs updating - couldn't get enough power or heat for shower. Location is good but it is set right on main road so need to be careful with younger children.

Owners very friendly and keen to help. Arranged early breakfast for us as we had early start both mornings of our stay. Food good, plenty of choice for evening meal and generous portion sizes.

Room needed a good dust and spring clean!

Great atmosphere and the staff and owners really put the effort in. The staff were very friendly! We were biking, so the facilities offered were great for us. There's free Wi-Fi, bike storage, a dry-room, superb bar and fire! The building is very old and has to be treated with respect. No drying clothes in the room, eating in the room etc. It is close to the MTBike centre ( Coed-Y-Brenin and Dolgellau (both short drives).

Last-minute availability. Views of pine forest.

Musty smell to room and cramped bathroom/shower room. Waited in dining room for attention and had to chase up staff to let them know I was there on two occasions. Food only average.
