The room we had did have its own facilities but it was behind reception which Eas extremely noisy especially at 4am when lots of people were coming back in from a night on the town. Sheets were extremely clean as were the two white towels provided
Far too noisy. Some rooms had shared facilities which added to the noise especially at 4am when lots if people seem to arrive back from their night out. There was a lot of shouting and singing plus footsteps and doors slamming as each person walked the corridors to use the bathrooms. When we arrived the reception area was full of clutter and appeared scruffy. It was a very dated building and although we had a large bedroom the double bed was pushed up against one wall. One light didnt work and there was only two plug sockets. I asked to be moved as I realised next to reception and the main entrance was not ideal but was told they were completely full.
Shared facilities dirty
It was cheap and basic, room was clean and value for money for what I paid, This 'hotel' is only for the people who do not mind basic, Its cheap and close to a metro station, did what I needed it to do, a place to crash :)
One of the toilets could have been cleaner
Decent clean rooms
Prefer own bathroom but was no issue and was clean
Very close to city centre (15min walk)
Booked a room for 2 people and expected 2 beds as agreed on booking details, on arrival there was only 1 single bed, fair enough they put another bed in the room for us returning at night, just unnecessary hassle!
Booking out and staff okay
Toilets dirty, room not great, very cheap but expect little
everything, no bed and breakfast, no service, rubbish shower, no remote for the tv
The room was clean, warm and comfortable, with good facilities, the staff were helpful, the view was amazing over the Tyne into the city and out into the country, made me want to live there!
Couldn't manage to get wifi late at night?
Room was OK to sleep in.
Whole place falling apart. Toilets were terrible. Did not flush, leaving them full of excrement.
Was great value for money, would of preferred ensuite in my room but my friends room had one a was spotless, big room and well worth what they / we paid, will be staying there again. Some reviews did put me off but it depends what you expect for "value"? Clean, tidy, and cheap.
Just lack of ensuite rooms
no tv in the room, no disability access and front entrance wasn't clearly labelled so i ended up going through the indian and had to walk up 5 flights of stairs to get to reception
room was clean bed was nice
was like being at a childs care home as a young woman really uncomfortable with gangs of boys running around knocking on doors and questioning and insulting in hall way when tryin to take a shower which was very clean and freezing cold found one boy having a wee in a shower room didn't even stay the night as would not of felt comfortable going back their after having a couple drinks shouldn't be advertised as hotel more like youth hostel
No Hot Water in Shower No controls for the TV No electric socket to plug in kettle Noisy residents all night No staff resident in hotel £85 for room only No more trade for Booking.com
Hotel central for my trip north and south of the river
The rooms were so hot
Value for money. I had my own room with TV. Good bus service to Eldon Square bus station
Hopefully you won't be awoken in the middle of the night by other guests shouting etc.
Shared bathroom and noise from other rooms walls too thin
good location, helpful staff, cleanliness in rooms
Location. No nonsense, clean and simple one night stay.
Lack of sound proofing. Dribble of a shower.
Room was large, clean and tidy. Shower room large and shower hot and powerful, staff (one young man) was efficient and helpful on arrival, well placed for events in Newcastle and the Sage. Large free car park. Could not fault it !
Noisy party in the hallway all night long
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Two shower rooms facing my room. Had a lovely dinner in the restaurant now attached to the hotel. Easy to find from Gateshead metro. Great value for money.
The showers weren't great. One I tried was more of a trickle and another went from hot to scolding in temperature. For all I paid and the little time I spent there it really wasn't a big deal, though.
Clean room and bathroom staff nice. a big room even for a single
Better lock on bathroom myself and 1 other got locked in Way to loud
Having read some of the reviews I was sceptical, however some people must have high expectations for the word "value"! Hotel was located 5 mins taxi ride from station, £5 taxi fare, rooms very clean, personally would have preferred an ensuite but not an issue, my friends room had one, both bedroom and shower room excellent size and very clean, maybe not the ritz but for the price we all paid we all agreed we would definitely stay there again, if you are looking to stay somewhere cheap, somewhere close to station and a 5 min ride to town, this place offers this just don't expect too much for the money your are paying, thanks for putting us all up, we will be staying here again.
Would prefer ensuite in all rooms but for the price not an issue.
