Warm Welcome and very helpful Peace and quiet Fabulous choice at breakfast Value for money
Shared bathroom but this was not an issue as very clean and tidy
Owner was great, really welcoming, accommodating and cooked a great breakfast, even caters for people with various dietary needs. Easy to access both city and the bay and at a reasonable price.
Room, stairs and dining room all need a clean. Also didn't like the shared bathroom, had to share with a woman who was washing her clothes in the basin all night! Road is noisy until about midnight, so if you need the window open expect traffic and noise from passing people...
The staff, the decoration, the wonderful breakfast. It was exactly what I was hoping for. You can also ask the staff to have some ideas of what you can do in the area. We followed their suggestions and it was great.
Unfortunately there was a guest who forgot the other guests might want to sleep until 9.00 on the weekend and he spoke very loudly in the staircases just in front of our door. But the rest was brilliant.
Very enjoyable stay. Host gave us information on public transportation that was very helpful. Great breakfast!
Was in the anex across the street from the main house. 3 flights of stairs.
Everything was great would definately stay again .
Great value for money Comfortable bed
Shared bathroom isn't ideal but was aware of it before booking
Paul and Stuart would be terrific neighbors and I would want to pop in every morning for a chat over their lovely coffee and exquisite breakfasts (hollandaise for a queen). I could catch up on the local scene and be advised how to spend my day. They are wonderful hosts and their home is inviting. It was no problem to arrive in Wales after the overseas flight and leave luggage at 9AM and return when the room was ready at 2PM check-in. When I returned I was so grateful to find my bag already hauled upstairs to the room. I was meeting my husband who finished the End to End 1100 mile bike trip, bike in tow. After a three night stay at Ty Rosa our hosts allowed us to store the bike with them while we toured Wales for another week before returning to Ty Rosa. Their kindness fully relieved us of having to deal with the bike. We have many fond memories of Wales, but Paul and Stuart were special. Thanks, guys.
Wales was very warm this July. Wales has no top sheets and windows that only open 3-5 inches. Though not specific to Ty Rosa (we found the situation in every BnB, hotel and apartment) no sheets meant sleeping without any covering or being swamped by thick and winter-cozy duvets. I'd add a top sheet.
Friendly hosts, very good breakfast, interesting style (interior)
Run down, trashy area quite far away from anything interesting in Cardiff - while there doesn't seem to be a crime problem, walking is a bit unpleasant when streets are run down and front yards full of trash. The B + B needs a good overhaul (bathrooms, beds ), as it is now it isn't such a good deal.
Good location in Cardiff between the City and the Bay. Easy free on street parking. Attractive decor throughout. TV with built in DVD. Free WiFi. Best value B&B in Cardiff. Friendly owners.
Thin internal walls in the annex. Annex detached from the main house and across the road so not so convenient to use the lounge and breakfast room etc. Room was a little cramped due to over furnishing (could change a bedside table for shelves).
The location was good for both downtown Cardiff and Cardiff Bay. The owners were friendly, and breakfast was great!
Lovely couple, great location and made you feel very welcome
Shared bathroom but that's what you except for a B&B. The room was rather hot but that's was due to the weather conditions, apart from that, excellent, can not fault
Love the owners and the warm welcome. Love Max the lab. Breakfast is great, and our room was clean and comfortable. Beautiful dining room/sitting room. Good value for money!
Distance from centre, although bus stop is literally outside the front door, so not that big a deal.
Staff are lovely, very friendly. Close to the Millennium Centre.
The management and staff were very friendly and helpful with all aspects of our visit. They provided us with several delightful meals and offered excellent gluten free breads and entrees. Our accommodations were very clean and well attended..
Our room was on a second floor walkup, and we are older with a lot of luggage in hand. The room was so small that we bumped into each other in getting around--still a good value for the price.
Pol was extremely nice and was responsive to emails and numerous requests as our travel plans got a bit upended. The room was well appointed, the bed comfortable, overall a brief but very pleasant stay.
Not a strong dislike, more of a caution to others: Ty Rosa is a bit removed from Central Cardiff but close to the Bay. This means that you should be ready to walk a good 1/2 hour to get downtown or cab it.
The hospitality of the owner was refreshing and welcome. He basically made the trip. I loved the location to Cardiff Bay where I could eat and drink at my leisure and walk there and back. The coffee was great and the breakfast was good. Paul, you could easily re locate and make a fortune.
I didn't like sharing the same bathroom with a budding actor who came in the small hours of the morning and sang his way through his abolutions. The cleanliness and decor of the property needs to be re considered.
The room was very cosy and came with complimentary water, tea and kettle.
Wish the room I'd chosen had been en suite, but it really wasn't an issue.
a warm welcome, and very cosy.
Right beside a bustop into town, meals are superb. Guys are prepared to go the extra mile.
In the annexe (across the road) fridge in room was noisy. But that's the way fridges are if they are to work!
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Room was good size and good value.
No TV reception. bathroom seals dirty and degraded. In need of some external renovation
Clean room and comfortable bed Very good breakfast Very friendly and helpful
Having to share a bathroom but I knew that before I got there
Ty Rosa is good value for the money, nicely decorated and welcoming. The breakfast is excellent and extremely good value for money.
It's a little far out of the centre of town, although that might be a good thing if you had a car.
Lovely people that looked after us
The staff are lovely and very welcoming and at hand for anything you need. The rooms are very comfy cleanly kept and great value for money, will definetely be returning again
