Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, but best of all - opposite a canal, so we enjoyed a walk here in the morning after breakfast.
The TV in our room didn't work. Marstons need to employ more staff as there were only two members of staff trying to cope with bar customers and man the hotel reception at the same time.
friendly comfortable great atmosphere good food great english breakfast
Location,Location,Location and great value for money and good choice of food.
Cleanliness, room was dirty with spiders hanging from the ceiling and lots of bugs and flies attached to the curtains.
There meats were excellence. The room was clean and tidy. All round it was good the staff were friendly.
The bath room was a bit small.
Nice view of river
On realising I had left my kindle at the hotel. The duty manager Sam found it and posted it back, which I thought was very honest and efficient. Also the food was excellent and very good value.
Room 11 bed not very comfortable.
lovely location/clean room .
request a room at the front preferably rooms 12/14.room 4 which we had shower cublcle very small difficult for a large person.also overlooked kitchen extraction fans on all night no sleep because of noise 15 .feet away from window
Loved the location, great pub and food
The Service, room, parking, staff, breakfast, the bar. we will be booking again, as our family live locally.
I can not think of anything. maybe have a safe in the rooms.
The location is very good river view of the Trent
Could not get the TV to work TV on but no channels would work reported this but same on the day we left
The location was stunning, the hotel surprisingly good for the price charged. Ample private parking and easy access to places of interest.
Climbing the stairs to the bedrooms. A lift would have been useful but fortunatel we can both just about manage at the moment.
Location opposite river Excellent breakfast Good modernisation Plenty of parking
Location, parking, wifi in the room, good breakfast and lunch, efficient friendly staff.
Lovely location but our room overlooked a flat roof , air con unit just outside window very noisy from 7am. Only towels for one person.
Location was beautiful, helpful staff. Room was good size and overlooked the river. Good Italian and Tom Browns restaraunt next door if you fancy change highly recommend both :) overall would definitely stay again if in the area again
Loved the waterside setting. Good start for walking too. Helpful staff.
Not enough staff in restaurant/bar area.
Everything. Of 10 sites used during a 6 week car tour of UK, this rated No.! Would name this the best value-for-money venue of our trip.
The fact that we could only stay one night.
Location was good in terms of setting and proximity to event we were attending. Reception staff did their best to help and we were given a discount because of the problems we experienced.
We had booked a deluxe double room for three nights but the room had only been reserved for us for nights two and three. As a result we ended up in a room that was smaller than we had booked. Chambermaid service was poor - bathroom was not particularly clean and was not tidied during our 3 night stay; cups were not washed and tea/coffee supplies were not replenished. Had to ask for light bulbs to be replaced in the main bedroom light and bathroom mirror light but were told the latter could not be replaced because they did not have the right bulbs (only 2 of the eight halogen bulbs were working).
Very friendly staff Nice clean room and excellent shower Food good with excellent breakfast Good value all round
Friendly helpful staff. Very clean good bathroom and bedlinen and towels.Pleasant stay.
Room decor was a bit dark and depressing. Could have done with a freshen up !
Really Nice Location
Nice location, friendly staff, good food, it was generally a nice stay.
weather ( but you cannot do anything about that..... )
Good situation. Pleasant room
First time we have been to a Marstons hotel, really good value, and the inclusion on Breakfast was excellent. The Hotel was very comfortable and the service was excellent
The wires running under bathroom sink were very dusty, and the net curtains in the bedroom could have used an iron!! but overall not bad at all
Lovely location by a canal in a nice little village. Breakfast very good. Very clean, contemporary comfy room. No shop in village but other restaurants nearby to choose from.
Being woken and kept awake through the night by some noisy guests(from a wedding at the restaurant next door) who had no consideration for others by talking loudly in rooms and in corridors at until 2 or 3 am.
Vaue for money Riverside location Country village Proximity to city
Spartan feel to rooms Noise from pub below
