The description of the hotel was accurate. Our expectations were met. We feel that this is very important. We also received a friendly welcome and were made to feel at home. We would have no hesitation in returning there. Nothing. Everything was according to what had been described.

All the staff at Unicorn Inn were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was really nice, freshly cooked and hot, and we could have as much toast and jam as we wanted. The room was very basic and in need of a good spring clean but the bedding and towels were clean. The matress was uncomfortable and the sheets too small to fit the base, they came off as soon as you laid on the bed!! However, we booked on a 2 for 1 basis so didn't feel it would be right to complain! Having said that, we would go back on a 2 for 1 basis again, just ask for a different room with a better bed.

Staff were most helpful and very friendly. Unicorn was what I expected. L liked that it was in a small village and no noise at night time. Food in the bar was really good and great value for money. Very nice chef and he was attentive to all his customers. Our accomodation was great value for money.

The twin room we had was very spacious, with a very big bathroom, with bath and shower. Lots of hot water at all times. The breakfast was superb,, and kept us going all day! (We did some long walks). We stayed here with it being new year 2011, and found the staff very friendly, paul the landlord made us very welcome indeed. He even provided a hot free buffet for everybody which was excellent. Parking was excellent just outside the entrance to the accommodation. We would not hesitate in returning and will be recommending this pub to our friends and family. Thank you Paul Sheila and Rob Kite, Macclesfield, Cheshire.

I like the Unicorn as it is in a great location and easy to find. It has a very friendly atmosphere and will go back for another stay Only one thing I didn't like was the smell of cigarettes coming through the ventilation in the bathroom !

Large family room, excellent breakfasts by both chefs. Warm welcome and friendly atmosphere in the pub. Quiet location (as requested) as room 6 was away from the road. Heaters had not been put on so the room was ice cold. We had to go into the pub to wait for the room to heat up. Small black stains on the sheet & duvet cover.

Conveniently situated for travel to several major towns/cities. A basic room at a reasonable price giving good value for overnight stays including a cooked breakfast and they welcome pets which for me is a bonus. The evening food was extremely enjoyable, with a good a la carte menu and courses priced individually to suit all tastes and budgets. Full breakfast not served until 8.30 A.M. if you need an early start but continental available for your room.

Made to feel welcome on arrival. Room clean and larger desk and a lamp would be better for business purposes. Excellent shower

We liked the Unicorn hotel because we knew it was only a small place and didn't want to stay somewhere that was large and busy. Also this hotel is very handy for going into Burton and Derby for shopping. Food is very good and didn't have to wait very long for the food to arrive. Nothing really to complain about other than maybe the bedroom was too hot,They need to be turned down a little.

Excellent village pub, real ale, great food, lovely, helpful, friendly staff. The room was adjacent to the main road through the village but traffic was light (Friday-Sunday) and barely noticeable. Rooms far enough away from the pub itself so you don't hear any noise from the there either. This is a nice little place to stay. The shower control ! For hot water choose blue, for cold water choose red. Plus the tiled floor in the bath room was very cold, take your slippers ;-)

Relaxed atmosphere Felt there was a lack of information as to what actual procedure was over booking for evening meals. Also could fo with small milk jugs on the table at breakfast instead of having to keep going self service cereal table when milk was required for your teat, coffee, cereal etc.Otherwise was very satisfactory.
