helpful staff. clean and friendly
A bit dated and the shower fitting needs updating
Plenty of space in room, free parking, decent buffet breakfast. Quiet and pleasant surroundings, free WiFi, decent shower.
Undrinkable vats of coffee at breakfast. University has Costa on site, join the dots? Wooden mattress; room clean if you don't look too hard. Only one tea bag and that was chamomile.
Quiet nights sleep, pleasant surroundings. Staff helpful, clean and quiet. Good Wi-Fi throughout. Reasonable value
over 10 ins walk with baggage, unless you can find a cab. No fresh fruit at breakfast
Liked area snd comfy bed. Disliked no plugs near mirtors to do hair! It was very warm and room overheating with no way of cooling it down as windows only open an inch!(security feature) reception is over road as is breakfast- which was very good! Overall good -but spoiled by not being able to get ready comfortably for event- and tremendous heat in room- not ideal for gorlies:0/ but lovely receptionist allowed us in early .
Restaurant was average and food was average to poor. Restaurant service was very average. Rooms are away from main building.
Location, breakfast, customer service
Thought it a bit pricey, but it served its purpose
Wonderful location - very close to the Univesity of Birmingham and students accommodation, very polite and helpful staff, bus stop in front of the hotel.
Our accommodation was a bit isolated from the rest of the hotel.
As a business traveller to the hospital the location was a pleasant 20 min walk away. Very friendly reception staff. Some might consider the rooms a bit basic, but it was clean, comfortable with perfectly adequate facilities and the location was quiet as a grave. Considering it included free wifi, parking, coffee making facilities, and an excellent "all you can eat" breakfast - it was unbelievably good value. Highly recommended.
Only travellers needing high mainanance pampering with bellboys and waiters fawning over you would find fault with this place. ( I don't )
Proximity to university was excellent, clean and tidy.
We were staying on 2nd floor, however, lift only went to 1st floor, so if you have heavy luggage rather hard work getting up an additional flight of stairs.
Love the views and the helpful staff.
Great breakfasts Staff would order in food
Lack of good snack food for a light supper. One evening man who offered some snacks was off sick and no replacement was offered.
Good location for the campus Helpful reception staff
Decoration dated and somewhat damaged (e.g., iron burn marks on the carpet!), warm (not hot) shower, and cramped breakfast room. Waiting on staff could be more alert to cleaning up after guests; this would enhance the eating experience. Shame really.
Smell and carpets in corridors to bedrooms
Room was very clean and functional. Bottles of water supplied in the room. Nice grounds and quiet outside considering it's in a big city.
Thought it was poor value for the money - very basic and you can get much plusher hotels in the city at this price. Reception area and dining room look like those in school buildings which is more or less what this is. Soundproofing is terrible, banging doors and talking in the corridor is all magnified, and you can hear the loo flushing in the next door room.
Location to university Cost
Dated decor Compact and dated bathroom Poor breakfast - stood around too long under the heaters Bean Coffee machines located around the buildings but not switched on/useable
convenience of the location
very dated no facilities in hotel
Quiet location and peaceful gardens surrounding the building.
Bare characterless room. Located in a building separate from the main reception/breakfast facilities. Had to ask staff twice to fill the hot water flask as I would have liked a cup of tea with my breakfast but they were too busy tidying up! So very overpriced.
location is best.
there is lot of noise when room doors are locked or opened. The size of twin bed is very small. The TV in the room is kept at awkward location.
The double bed I booked for me and my girlfriend was not available, so we got a twin room instead and had to join beds together to be close to each other.
Breakfast and clean comfy beds
Convenience to the university. Decent enough shower.
Poor lighting in the room - very difficult to see into the wardrobe. Clunking in the heating pipes woke me at 6am. Awful breakfast. Not even asked on my check out how my stay was! Very poor value for money!
Good value hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast and excellent WiFI!
bad smell of room, no elevator, and noisy
Great location, was nice and quiet
No plug socket near the bed to charge my phone, not much to dislike at all
