Good location, clean room, safe place to stay, the breakfast is fantastic,
I used to live at College Hall as a student, and enjoy being somewhere familiar and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. I am also glad I can practise the piano there. I am a graduate of the English Dept. at Birkbeck College, and also a pianist.
This time being dragged out of bed by the terrible fire alarm at 4.30am. People shoudl be warned about turning on microwaves to eat at that time in their rooms!
Was walking distance to a tube station, clean room (nothing fancy though), served a purpose and will probably book there again if I am in London, breakfast was also good, at the end "you get what you pay for"
nothing, everthing was OK
Breakfast was good and staffs were friendly. Each floors has pantry so I could boil water to drink and use a microwave oven. I thought the hall was very good location because I could get to the British museum in 3 minutes by feet and the underground stations and the buss stops were near by the hall.
They didn't change towels every day, so I had to use the same towel for 5 days! If you care about that, I recommend you to bring your towel. There are no TV nor radio in a room, so I sometimes spent boring time in the room. But I didn't care about that.
position(very close to British Museum), tranquility(without TV, Wifi), breakfast, cleanness, simplicity... + cheap price!
excellent base for academic work in Bloomsbury
Very close to the university, especially SOAS. I strongly recommend this hotel to researchers and academic staffs who have some jobs at the university.
A little bit cold to sleep. Breakfast is poor, because here is the UK.
Good location. Wifi. Easy. Flexibility for breakfast. I had a good stay :)
Expensive for what you get (but thats London!).
the location was good. near to some tube station and British mesume
the service is extremely poor. The reception is not polite at all, never helpful. The light in the toliet have problem. But the reception said" you dont need to stay in toliet 24 hours"
Location. Comfortable room . The staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was included and the variety of food was more than I expected for the price of the room.
Location is wonderful. Nice Breakfast. Easy to get to and a good base to explore London. Very safe area.
Could not get wifi to work on iPhone, staff were not able to help me. On my first day, a loose electrical socket blew my phone charger, and knocked out all the sockets in the room. It was 36 hours before it was fixed. The staff were not very helpful in this situation.
I stumbled across the back entrance to the British Museum while looking for College Hall. Also walking distance from Victoria Station. Somewhat spartan, but good value for money.
It has all the basics, bed, shared bathroom, sink in the room, and the breakfast was more generous than other cheap hotels in the area.
Nothing considering the price. If you are looking for a place to relax after a day of sightseeing, this dorm doesn't really offer that, but then again, it's a dorm.
Excellent location right next to British Museum. Good breakfast selection. Fast internet in the room. At least limited cooking facilities (microwave) are available.
Breakfast only until 9.30 on weekends. There was construction work outside my window which started at 8.30am on a Sunday(!)
I stayed here for 6 days, good staff, good breakfast, good location, room is clean but without any replacement of bed sheets during my stay. Value for money for present season, but i'm not sure if it's good for summer since there is no AC in the room only the heater. There is laundry room available on floor minus one, but need to register one card and with deposit in, if one public used laundry card can be supplied for short-stay travelers, that will be better.
perfect location - short walking distance to the main tourist attractions. Good breakfast - better than in many 3* hotels; great price for the standard you get. Wifi was working quite well
the safe box in the room would be a perfect thing...
Location and breakfast excellent
No cleaning service during stay
I'st good ! Good location end excellent staff !
Great location. Handy for Euston and several Tube stations only a short walk away. Within walking distance of Covent Garden, Oxford Street, etc but set in a pretty, historic part of the city. Plenty of lovely streets & leafy squares to explore. Reasonable sized room. Clean, quiet, overlooking garden. Very comfortable bed. Great sleep! As a solo female traveller I felt very safe. 24 hour concierge & secure card entry to building and lifts. Fantastic breakfast in canteen. Good choice of cooked breakfast items, pastries, cereal, fruit & bread. Kept me going all day! Great value for money all round. Would highly recommend College Halls.
My only, very minor, issue was the bottom of the shower was very slippy.
Breakfast - excellent choice and quality Wi-Fi Desk space Wardrobe / drawer space
Bed not too comfy En-suite a bit cramped Noisy water pipes
Very good breakfast. Friendly staff. Very convenient location for the British Museum and for shopping.
A plastic beaker to have a drink of water would have been useful, and a vending machine to buy some coffee in the evening. Only one pillow - but I asked for a second pillow and was given one almost straight away.
(Note: I had a room with its own bathroom) Given the price, the room has a decent size. It's not big, but it's larger than what you sometimes get for more expensive places. There's plenty of closet space. It's a 20 minute walk to King's Cross/St. Pancras station. There's a bike rental just across the street. Full English breakfast included; not fancy, but it's decent.
Bed was too short for me (I'm 2m tall) and there was a closet right behind the bed, so there was only a small part at the end where I could stick my feet out. Also, the bed was too bouncy for me. Elevator felt like it could stop working any moment. My bedroom had a fairly uninspiring view of the backyard, but you do get plenty of sunlight.
Safe location, Breakfast excellent, nice choice. Good sized room, good internet, nice staff
No TV in the room, this would make all the difference to me.
pantry and fridges
Pillows Fire alarm and evacuation of building at 04.30 am
Quiet location Quiet rooms / corridors Breakfast - great choice and quality Free wifi
carpet wasn't hugely clean
