De Vere Hotel University Arms  

Fantastische Lage direkt am Zentrum. Der alte Teil des Hotels ist sehr schoen, der neuere Anbau lediglich zweckmaessig und wenig gepflegt.

Das Zimmer im neueren Teil des Hotels war klein und renovierungsbeduerftig. Das Interieur war teilweise besschaedgt und in mittelmaessigem Zustand. Die Lage macht die Nachteile aber mehr als wett.

Allenfalls das Frühstück, das klassische englisch ist und in einem stilechten, wenn auch angestaubten Ballsaal serviert wird.

Verstaubte Räume, schlecht geputztes Zimmer, schlechter Service (Anrufe von außerhalb wurden nicht in men Zimmer weitervermittelt, Weckservice wurde nicht eingehalten, Personal unfreundlich). Mein Zimmer war sehr klein, obwohl es sogar als Doppelzimmer verkauft wurde. Laute Parties im Hotel am Abend. Kurzum: Das Hotel ist sein Geld nicht wert; lieber das Crown Plaza um die Ecke nehmen.

Location is great, everything is at walking distance and Reception staff was very helpful. The bed was the best ever, i wish i could get the same at home.

Too expensive, really over priced. Squeaky floors and desperate need of double glazed windows.

The staff were efficient and friendly. The location was ideal for our needs- we were there for a schooll reunion weekend and able to walk to all the required locations.

Overall we enjoyed our stay in Cambridge but the hote ldefinitely needs some investment- the bedroom was old fashioned and shabby- chipped paint, old carpet and curtains, very poor lighting and with a general run down feeling- not tempting to make us book again even though we intend to return to Cambridge later this year.

We liked everything about the hotel

Central location. Convenient car parking. Friendly staff.

The room (220) looked quite shabby - bathroom and general decor needs refreshing. The room had a lovely view out onto the large grassed area and we expected it to be quiet at night I.E. no traffic noise or passing revellers. We were very disappointed to experience constant noise from what sounded like a gang of youngsters outside and below our window. The talking, laughing and shouting went on right through the night and kept us awake. I would certainly not recommend a room at that end of the hotel in view of the situation we experienced.

Lies from the hotel from start to finish. No free WiFi, the photos of the hotel are very misleading and it's generally pretty poor

Helpful staff, good location.

Dated rooms, not a 4 star hotel and a suprise £16 charge for using their own car park.

The breakfast (poached egg with bacon) is just perfect! The location is very good where close to Cambridge University. The room and services are good.

Very customer-service minded staff. Dinner in the in-house restaurant lovely. Good breakfast. A lot of staff at breakfast, we were waited on like at the Ritz.

A bit run-down perhaps?

The big draw of this hotel is the location: five minutes walk gets you to the market square and the universities historical Colleges Other positives include the comfortable bed, quality bedding and good breakfast buffet.

The staff's attitude was mixed: we had exceptional service at check-in, but at subsequent interactions, some staff were borderline rude. However, this did not detract form an overall positive experience. One improvement could be better information regarding breakfast and check-out times. We were given conflicting information about these.

Location and staff were good. Hospitality was very good.

Black mould/scum collected in the shower area (Room 130).

Top of the list - the bed linen - it was amazing - but that's just me!! Cleanliness of the hotel. Went down for breakfast and all the staff were really friendly and attentive. Location was spot on especially with the rain we are having at the moment.

The only gripe was the check in. Waited a long time. Only one member of staff on who seemed a bit vague.
