Location excellent, close to coach stop. Receptionists and staff are very helpful, friendly & efficient. Will stay again definitely. A bit old and requires renovation. No wi-fi in rooms, need cable.

The location only very poor room quality with tiny badly furnished bathroom both in desperate need of refurbishment. Massively overpriced - would never return.

Central location. Convenient car parking. Friendly staff. The room (220) looked quite shabby - bathroom and general decor needs refreshing. The room had a lovely view out onto the large grassed area and we expected it to be quiet at night I.E. no traffic noise or passing revellers. We were very disappointed to experience constant noise from what sounded like a gang of youngsters outside and below our window. The talking, laughing and shouting went on right through the night and kept us awake. I would certainly not recommend a room at that end of the hotel in view of the situation we experienced.

Beautiful historic surroundings, central location. Excellent room and food. The food in R17 restaurant was fantastic, but deserted on a Saturday night. Four other couples and no atmosphere whatsoever. Decor completely out of keeping with the rest of the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay, the room was clean, the bed was fantastic very comfortable pillows great. The breakfast was excellent there was lots of choices we could not fault the breakfast at all The only negative if you can call it one is the Hotel needs updating the furnishings and furniture in our room were looking a little tired,it felt like the whole of the hotel could do with a makeover then it would be a fabulous hotel. We would go back

Very customer-service minded staff. Dinner in the in-house restaurant lovely. Good breakfast. A lot of staff at breakfast, we were waited on like at the Ritz. A bit run-down perhaps?

it's location it's old, run down and dirty. could do with a scrub up and refurbishment. my shower curtain had mould on it and the bed didn't seem clean. I even had to have them fix the door lock. The wifi didn't work and there were hardly any plugs in the room. the closet was small and didn't have enough hangers. the whole hotel had squeaky floors. I had an executive room and shudder to think what a normal room would have been like.

The big draw of this hotel is the location: five minutes walk gets you to the market square and the universities historical Colleges Other positives include the comfortable bed, quality bedding and good breakfast buffet. The staff's attitude was mixed: we had exceptional service at check-in, but at subsequent interactions, some staff were borderline rude. However, this did not detract form an overall positive experience. One improvement could be better information regarding breakfast and check-out times. We were given conflicting information about these.

Great staff and great location. The decor in our room was very dated and tired. The bathroom ceiling was in a poor state of repair and the window frames were discoloured and peeling. I decided not to use the shower and wait till I got home!

Convenient location and excellent breakfast. Room not fully prepared. No soap or shampoo etc when we arrived but corrected. Link to Wi Fi a problem in the evening but eventually resolved by Night Manager. Should be more readily accessible.

Top of the list - the bed linen - it was amazing - but that's just me!! Cleanliness of the hotel. Went down for breakfast and all the staff were really friendly and attentive. Location was spot on especially with the rain we are having at the moment. The only gripe was the check in. Waited a long time. Only one member of staff on who seemed a bit vague.

My room and bed. The cook also did me three pieces of bacon, beautifully crisp, as the bacon in the servers looked pretty sad. The lift was archaic. I also had to walk up and down about ten stairs, which, with a suitcase, I did not appreciate.

It was central, comfortable and relaxed. Excellent breakfast, very pleasant surroundings and the room had a great view over Parson's Piece I felt that the decor was a little tired and in need of a bit of refurbishing in places, particularly given the price we paid.

Very obliging staff We arrived to find that one of the bedside lamps was missing & the bulb in the other one didn't work. Also there was no lead for the kettle, so we were unable to make tea for ourselves. However, tea was brought to us when we reported this. Overall we were disappointed that a supposedly prestigious hotel should be so poor in its equipment checking.

“Clean, comfortable and convenient for the town centre. Very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was excellent. Room clean and comfortable with a superb view over Parkers Park. !0 minute walk from railway station but has a large free carpark if you need it. (Most hotels in the city were charging residents up to £16 per night to park). We have stayed at other Best Western hotels and we are very pleased with the standards and the prices that this chain has to offer. Looking forward to our next visit.” Colin, Rochester |
