De Vere Hotel University ArmsRegent St, CB2 1AD Cambridge (Show map) Good, Score from 401 reviews“We were very impressed with the University Arms. It was centrally located so ideal for shopping and for eating and drinking. We booked early and got a good deal. The parking below the hotel was ideal as we had a lot of gear with our baby. We would love to come back and make the most of the bars in the hotel.”

The location was perfect, right in the city centre. Staff were very friendly also. There wasnt really anything exciting to this hotel. Our room was very very small and wasn't great value for money. The paint on the ceiling was shoddy, there was no view from the room and the pictures we saw before booking were very misleading. The room also picked up all the noise from outside and we could constantly hear the floorboards moving from the room above us.

Excellent decor for the public hotel areas, and a vintage Otis cage elevator. Very cool. Perfect location for the colleges. The rooms are not nearly as nice as the public areas of the hotel, and the front of the building looks like a 1970's office tower. Parking was very expensive on-site and almost non-existent nearby.

Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Very comfortable bed and bed-linen. Great view from room. Lighting in room was poor. Plumbing was bad. Milk was off. Bar staff completely messed up the billing of the one glass of wine I had when I was there, took 10 minutes to sort this out on reception when I left.

It is situated right in the town and was ideal for us as it had a car park underneath which meant that we could walk to the restaurant that we were intending to go to and we could both enjoy a bottle of wine!

The location is perfect for the city centre. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Very good price including breakfast. Room was very tired, paper falling off ceiling. Bedding poor, had to find extra warmth using two single duvets stored in wardrobe. The original duvet was too small for the bad. Headboard too narrow for bed.Bathroom poor and did not like the steps into it. We have stayed before and this room was definitely not one of the best!

Wonderful location overlooking Parker's Piece in the center of Cambrige, the hotel had charm and style, a beautiful dining room where a fantastic breakfast was served. Restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, reception although very busy were charming and extremely professional, I had requested a room close to a lift and it was perfect in every way. Hotel and staff maintain a high standard , I appreciated the courtesy and respect shown to us , a credit to the De Vere group of hotels

The hotel is right in the heart of Cambridge. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good and served in a lovely room overlooking Parker's Piece. This is an ideal hotel if you are delivering your child back to Cambridge for the new term and need an overnight stay. Although a lovely hotel decorated in traditionally quaint style our room was a little tired on the decoration front. It maybe that, in the cycle of room decoration throughout the hotel, our room may have been already diarised for redecoration. Overall as we secured a very good price through Booking.com it was a very pleasant overnight stay.

The hotel is in need of a serious refurbishment (and clean) and was extremely disappointing for the money. Unnecessary extras were added to the bill at every opportunity, although they were deleted without fuss.

The staff were very helpful & friendly. The hotel is very well positioned for visiting all the colleges & town centre shopping with bars & restaurants only a 5 minute walk away. The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The hotel needs a make over & upgrade, especially the bedrooms. Though very clean & the bed was lovely the fittings, structure & decoration are rather tired & spoil the whole ambience which is a shame as otherwise we had a great time.

Very comforting and had a nice antique look. Breakfast was brilliant with a range of foods and all-you-can-eat style. Wallpaper was dated and lose wires were about the room (wi-fi leads etc.)

Rooms given face main room. Extremely noisy due to disco / pub until 4 am in the morning. Thinking that hotel is in an old building with some history. Turns out that rooms are in an extension.

“The Kingsize bedroom with extra lage size bed and very nice view of river were a real plus(ses) for my wife and I on this weekend break in Cambridge. The friendliness of staff when we checked in and in the restaurant/bar made us feel very welcome also. Being able to have breakfast up to 11am on Sunday was a real treat as well.
