It’s my home town, I grew up in Berwick and always love returning. The people are friendly, the architecture is great, it’s an ideal centre for walking, with a choice of countryside, sea views or river views. The high street looks a bit tired, but that’s in line with many town centres currently. There are still many independent shops and several restaurants supplying good food at a range of prices.

Centre a bit down on its luck like many towns these days.
Centre a bit down on its luck like many towns these days. But the walks around the old town and the walls are always splendid. Some interesting shops on Bridge Street - books, green produce, kitchen utensils.

A delightful town completely surrounded by defensive walls...
A delightful town completely surrounded by defensive walls built in Elizabethan times. A walk along the walls is lovely way to spend a couple of hours, as is a stroll by the River Tweed. The views from the end of the pier include distant Holy Island. The Atelier was a great place for drinks, the King's Arms a good place for teas and coffee and snacks. We enjoyed the food at Amran's Indian Restaurant. The town bosts lots of up-mrket "junk shops" that are great fun to browse. nd the town museum is well worth a visit.

Nice location, peaceful, view of sea from our room and from kitchen. Nice good sized bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely hot tub and nice pool and sauna. Short 20 minute walk into Berwick. Less than half an hour by car to Holy Island and within easy travel distance of many places and villages to visit although some places don't open until after Easter. Helpful hosts and helpful website. Would recommend.
The choice of breakfasts was fabulous. My husband just fancied ‘poached eggs on toast’, not on the menu but they said no problem. The full English set you up for the day, well presented-tasty and very pleasing to the eye…I can’t praise the hotel enough. We will definitely return..great position, to look out and see the sea..perfect! We ate late lunch and evening meal and all were good sized portions and delicious.
The Nook is a comfortable and cosy place to stay. The hosts had added lovely little touches such as supplies so we could have a hot drink without needing to dash straight out to the supermarket, and toiletries in the bathroom. The Nook is close to the old bridge across the river and really handy for walking into Berwick-Upon-Tweed.
The hotel was situated very handy for public transport and access to the public gardens and and an easy stroll to Berwick and the history of the hotel is given with breakfast which turns out to have Lowery the famous painter staying there. breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice.
Night Staff was very helpful lovely girl at reception and a handsome boy. Very welcoming attitude.
Location amazing. Room size was decent. This is a hostel so do not expect 5 star luxury hotel. Overall Good experience. Very reasonable price.
We were happy with everything, especially Keanne, who was onsite daily and went above and beyond to meet our needs. The management was also easy to reach and solved any issues we had. Berwick-upon-Tweed is a delightful city to visit!
Lovely Couple and very quiet nice hotel, breakfast was great and property is in lovely location, parking is limited and weather was horrible but couple were full of local knowledge and gave great recommendations for places to eat.
Dog friendly which is the main reason we chose this. Staff were so nice and friendly! Good breakfast and nice and clean. Good location - across the road from the train station and a few minutes walk to the main part of town.
Fabulous breakfast, served by lovely helpful staff. The hotel is just a short walk from the train station, and is well located to see all that Berwick has to offer. Will definitely stay here again.
