De Vere Venues UplandsFour Ashes Road, Cryers Hill, HP15 6LB High Wycombe (Show map) Good, Score from 123 reviews“This hotel is primarily a conference centre and doesn't have all of the facilities one might expect, but if you can manage without a mini bar in your room, you'll be fine! Our room was spacious and airy with a larger than average bathroom complete with iron, ironing board and hair dryer.”
Derek,
Northampton

The bed was comfortable and despite being an old fitting the shower was nice and hot. There was ample free car parking as stated. Nice countryside views too. Well, the room and ensuite could have been cleaner. It may have been the hoover but there was still debris on the carpet and I picked up three dead bugs from the bathroom floor on arrival. There were no toiletries in the bathroom, and for the price we paid we would have expected the room to be better appointed. In fact, our room didn't look like the one in the illustration which must have been refurbished for the web page photo-shoot. Finally, we were woken in the night by our neighbours and could hear every word they said.

We needed a room with a travel cot for our baby, which we requested in advance, so it was already set up for us and was nice and clean. Our room was so spacious even with the travel cot next to the bed there was loads of space left for our belongings and to move around. The rooms get a degree of early morning noise from the external walkway linking them. Bathrooms could do with refurbishment soon.

Comfy bed and good late night bar Given room key/card swipe to an already occupied room. Also tried to overcharge on room on checkout (doubled the price) This also happened to an old lady when I was checking in, so it seems like it is common practice.

We chose the hotel for its proximity to Thame which was stated as 12 miles but which we discovered was actually 25 miles and hence we were late for a christening. The hotel advertised squash courts (one; used as a storage cupboard) and tennis courts (covered in 2 inches of moss). The hotel is basically a conference centre and we were kept awake by noisy drunken party guests. Would not recommend.

The hotel was amazing. It felt as though we were staying in Centre Parcs and was truely different. May not be everyone's cup of tea for a hotel ... but we thought it was fantastic! We had a 1 year old with us and it was perfect! Plenty of parking and the room was fairly big! Thanks DeVere!

We found our stay comfortable for what we needed. The staff were very pleasent and welcoming. The room was nice and ideal for our short stay. However the bathroom was not very clean at all. The toilet had a very strong smell of urine which was a little off putting but nothing a good spring clean wouldnt solve. Just to repeat the above and mention that the bathroom wasnt very clean.

The staff on reception at night was ok. But the one that was on in the day was very short with me. I told him that we didnt have enough coffee and sugar in our room. They then put only 3 sugars and 2 milk, that as far as I am concernd was not enough. Also we told the staff twice that the fan in the bathroom was not working, and they still didnt get anything done about it.

The price. The accessibility to our friends. The bed was really comfortable Paying £2.50 for using a credit card and I wasn't given the option to change it to a debit card.

Fantastic value for money. I got a room only deal for £19 and was shocked at how good the room was for this price...I Expected a small cubby hole in the corner of the hotel. The rooms are like any typical £70+ rooms with a large bathroom, comfortable bed and large lcd tv overlooking the bed. I would happily pay a lot more for this accommodation. Considering how large the external grounds to the hotel and that some of the rooms open up direct to the outside of the buildings I think that if the hotel opened up a few rooms to guests with pets (dogs) this would be plus to hotel. I would certainly use it more as my wife and I often travel with our Dog.
