Built in 1133, Missenden Abbey is beautiful and historic. It has 10 acres of grounds for croquet, games and a putting ground. Enjoy free access to a local golf course.

location grounds room tuna sandwich breakfast serving staff at breakfast
the extractor fan in the bathroom wouldn't turn off and made an awful noise. Staff investigated but unable to help except to recommend patience. After about an hour and a half it finally stopped! Poor flow of water for shower and bath
Bed was comfy
Black bits in the bath in the bathroom. bad night sleep because you can hear everything from the room above. Shocking price for breakfast not worth 8.50 very taste less.
Food in the evening
Room badly equipped. Badly prepared Broken blinds Bad decor in the bathroom Having to put clothes in a steamy bathroom and not being able to open door Fire alarm went off twice in one morning not staff to assist or advise Noisy house maids first thing
Location and surroundings
Room carpet was dirty and covered in stains
It was clean, everything worked, it was comfortable. The shower was excellent. It was quiet. The room was big enough. Secure parking.
It's a bit of a trek from car park to reception.
ROOM WAS FILTHY CLEAN TOWELS WERE SOILED DOUBLE ROOM WAS ONLY 8 FEET WIDE ROOMS WERE VERY NOISY AND COULD CLEARLY HEAR GUESTS TALKING NEXT DOOR
Room was smelly, you could hear EVERTHING next door. The carpet was more hair than carpet fibers.
The main building and gardens are beautiful.
In dire need of refurbishment. Layout and rooms reminiscent of a 1960's Butlins. My room had a very strong musty smell like an old cellar.
This was a good ,clean hotel at a budget price. Rooms nicely decorated and each room with the benefit of tea/ coffee. Beds very comfortable. We used the restaurant where we found a very good choice and the childrens meals were large and a very good price. Would definitely go back.
Location , location,location !!
Decor could do with a revamp
Quite location, It was fairly cheap but it is for a to many reasons.
Very old decor, bathroom, a chair for a bedside cabinet, torn carpet. A bit like a tired student accomadation.
The bathroom was the worst I've ever seen. Frankly to put somebody in a room like that is appalling. We'd arrived late after a very long day and put all of our things in the room. The room was miles from the reception and I really should have asked for another room. The bathroom was rusty and mouldy.
Wifi Tea facilities Breakfast and restaurant
Rooms like 60 s holiday camp Bathroom very tired in need of total redecoration Slamming prison cell doors
We liked the relaxed lounge bar . Great free coffees. Lovely walks around the grounds. Excellent parking.
Location, smart public areas (bar, restaurant etc), helpful staff and good breakfast choice
Rooms are dated and require updating, wifi quality varies
restaurant good, staff were excellent grounds and location good very quiet
place needs some tlc rooms are a bit run down paint work needs some attention and the bathrooms need updating my sons room 010 had no hot water only one disabled parking space for guests a joke
Price, staff and food
trawling luggage a long way
Unfortunately our bathroom light didn't work and vanity light made a scary buzzing noise, but main issue was no curtain over velox skylight so awake very early.
The countryside location and the interesting grounds and common rooms (games room). Nice to have complimentary coffee machine near reception, along with fruit.
Wish there was a path to enable minimal walking on road.
The service from the staff was excellent and the food was very good. The bed was extremely comfortable.
The condition of the bathroom was very poor although the bath was a good size. Minimal tea, coffee etc. in the room. Had to ask for extra (although staff were brilliant - extremely helpful and from the reception to the restaurant staff).
The room could of done with a lick of paint it did look a little sad, but very nice ground floor with patio doors (129)
Nice and warm Comfortable bed Attentive reception staff Nice to look out at view ...trees.
This is High Wycome branch. The drive to this place was excellent, countryside. Rooms are good enough and the bathrooms (maybe i got lucky this time) are decent. Need to flush hard and work out bathroom but a staff told us they will eventually tear the accomodation down, hence no refurbishment. Excellent breakfast menu/choice. I drove back feeling stuffed. maybe others had bad experience (also happens to me) but i may have got lucky this time. went there with my family and had another room for my inlaws. equally good and they were v happy. they had broken kettle but it was replaced immediately.
I loved the location of the room and the cleanliness and comfort of the bed. Also the panoramic views.
The stains on the carpet and the cracks in the bathroom tiles.
