The building had considerable character which had not been spoilt with the modernisation. There was ample car parking. All staff were exceptionally considerate and accomodating. It became obvious they enjoy working there. We were made to feel very welcome. The check-in and out was without fuss. The rooms were clean, bright, spacious, and well equipped. The quiet location along with comfortable beds ensured a good nights undisturbed sleep. The dining area was tastefully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast, which included freshly baked bread, was fullsome and delicous. The lounge was clean and comfortable, with the background music inoffensive and actually in the background, and held a good selection of drinks. Although the price initially seemed high when booking, having stayed and sampled, it was worth it.

Staff are so friendly, smiley and efficient - nothing is too much trouble! The food is fantastic - all cooked to order - and very reasonably priced. As a female business traveller, I often feel very awkward sitting in a bar or restaurant having dinner on my own - but not here, the atmosphere is great and there is a good mix of locals and visiters/tourists. Also, all of the menu is available via Room Service which I think is amazing. I stayed in a supposedly 4* hotel last week and the only thing on the room service menu was sandwiches!! The rooms are very comfortable, attractive and clean. The Uplawmoor is situated in a quiet, pretty village which is nice to wander around in the evenings.

Kind, helpful, friendly people in a nice place that was good value with nifty cocktails and excellent food - a couple of real ales would set it of perfectly. This is not a complaint but an onservation!- I have no complaints about this nice hotel and its people and its excellent food. The observation concerns the decor in the dining room where it is possible to see, farmhouse roof, tudor and Charles Rene MacKintosh furniture, Rococco mirrors, wild west log cabin walls, traditional photos and modernism lighting and some others all in the same room - should be on Grand Designs!

Every member of staff was helpful and attentive, the food was good and the hotel was in a quiet part of the countryside but central for visiting the various attractions in the area.

The staff were all very professional and friendly.Location wise, the hotel is close to Glasgow central yet you feel in the country-side located in a small village,The food was of a very high consistent standard and my room was very quiet and comfortable.I borrowed one of the hotel's bikes and had a ride around the local area-it was really enjoyable on a late summer's afternoon.Highly recommended stay!
