Fantastic staff very approachable & attentive. Good atmosphere & vibe to the place , I instantly felt "at home " & was actually shocked when I saw my room for the price , could have charged double & I would have still been impressed ! Food was 1st class & locality was ideal , right in the middle of things although if I had 2 stay in hotel I'd have still had a great night , I can't recommend this place enough !

Food was excellent and all the staff were young and first class. The hotel had a great vibe and was very busy most evenings. We liked everything about the Urban Beach. If I had one criticism it was that things like the skirting boards and places which were not easily accessible could have been a little cleaner but I probably am a tad on the fussy side.

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff were friendly and warm and recommended some great places to go. The room was cosy (#10), not massive but decorated beautifully and had a beachy/ relaxed feel. Best bit of the room was the en suite which had a brilliant shower with homemade shampoos in. The hotel was just like in the pictures which provides a change from the places I have booked before! Food is a must try. Brilliant wine list and fantastic chef. Even though food is a bit on the pricey side I would suggest trying it. Especially breakfast which can only be described as a gourmet fry up. It really had the wow factor! Would definitely stay here again next time I visit. The hotel deserves the awards it has as this was the nicest place I have ever stayed. Well worth a visit. You will not regret it! If I was nit-picking, I would suggest the price was just slightly more expensive than I would prefer but once you visit you will see value for money. Hotel more than makes up for it with locally sourced food, just 20 mins walk along the beach to the town and less than a minutes walk to the o2 arena/ Boscombe.

Incredibly welcoming, and helpful staff Beautiful newly decorated room with wonderful attention to detail (i.e. candles and bath salts) Four poster bed Modcons such as flat screen TV, i-pod dock and Wi-fi Woderful food in the on site restaurant, breakfast (included in room charge) was just awesome!! We will definitely be back! Slightly on the pricier side but well worth it!

The friendliness of the staff, the relaxed atmosphere, the modern clean room, the flavour of the food from a menu that offered a wide selection made from locally sourced produce. The mini breakfast is wonderful for a foodie with a conscience - all the taste on a smaller scale. I like a lie in, but unfortunately my client would prefer an early start. The 8am breakfast was a little late for my business needs, but a sacrifice worth making.

Fantastic quality of finishings. Every detail accounted for. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Cocktails were brilliant! Room was a little noisy as directly above the bar. Once the bar was shut it was deadly quiet but started up again early in the morning.

Great stay Fantastic staff. Great trendy yet relaxed feel- food was great! Breakfast was on till 1130:-) and was supurbe. Room was good tad small , bed was great and toiletries including bath salts were spot on.Great romantic stay- or chilled stay- but more than enough life to keep you entertained. Definitely a unique feel- a1 thanks Price was good as we got a late price deal possibly a little expensive if full price but above description makes it hard to complain on any front:-)

I had the bad luck to get ill with some sort of virus not long after arriving. The staff were WONDERFUL.They gave me snacks and mineral water that they did not want payment for .They were kind to me and made sure I knew I could ring reception if I needed anything .I found out after my stay that they had put me on the 'night report' so that staff at night knew I was ill and to be extra attentive to me If I needed anything . So I have no idea what the restaurant is like, but was so touched by the exemplary attitude of the staff !

The staff were so welcoming and would bend over backwards to help us out as we had an 11th month old baby with us. They made sure all our needs were met as well as being so down to earth. The hotel design and decor was outstanding, very earthy and fresh. It was a great touch having dvd's and wellies etc that guests could borrow and return free of charge. The menu prices were overpriced for what you get. I ordered the summer pasta which was around £11 but had such a small portion for what I paid as I usually share my food with my child. There wasn't a main meal for under £11.

Friendly staff , especially Anna. Nice and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast . Would liked to have had an evening meal in the hotel but found menu very restricted and highly priced. As was the drinks. Also although the room was comfortable and clean think it is a little overpriced for a one night stay. £123.00

“This was our first trip to The Cumberland Hotel. What a delight! The Hotel is decorated In Art Deco style in vibrant Red, Black,Silver and Glass...STUNNING!! They have soft music in the background that relate to the time of day, very nicely slotting in to the mood changes as the day moves to night..Clever - rather than the usual "elevator" style that a lot of Hotel tend to have. Our welcome first kicked in when we checked in at Reception. The Receptionist was lovely, very friendly and helpful. We had only booked for one night but was able to stay on for another night with no problem at all. We were early so she took our bags from us and we were able to explore the Hotel. We had a sandwich and drink by the pool which was brilliant! The pool was inviting and the set up outside with the seating and tables was really nice. Everywhere we walked, the staff looked up and smiled, genuine welcome smiles not the plastic aloof smiles that are in so many Hotels these days! We ate in the Hotel on both our evenings. The Brasserie Grill one night and the Mirabelle Restaurant the other. The meals that the Chef cooked were delicious. Presentation and taste sublime! Service was superb in both places. Our room was spotless and very comfortable with the only downside being that we are used to a King size bed so the Double for us was small! Next time we are going for the Sea View with Balcony with the Kingsize bed! Breakfast was delicious with the usual Buffet Style on offer. If you wanted Kippers or something that was not the usual Full English, you only had to ask! I was a bit disappointed in the selection of fruit on offer. The choice of Prunes, Grapefruit and Melon is a tad outdated. Lots of places that we have stayed have a larger variety on offer ie: Kiwi Fruit/ Melon Selection/ Bananas/ Grapes etc with more of a choice in Yoghurts too. There was bowl of fruit available. We are definitely going back to this Hotel, we cannot praise it enough!!” Gerald, Yateley |

“Fantastic family friendly hotel with large rooms and lots of space. We had a large double room with two extra camp beds put in and still had space to swing a cat or two!! The swimming pool area is lovely and although children are only allowed at certain times it is still very family friendly. Breakfast is great and again it is family friendly, my children were very pleased to be allowed to choose their own breakfast!” Agnes, Reading |
