Friendly, helpful staff.

Tired, dated decor. Lime scale in bath and shower. Poor quality towels. Ill fitting curtains that let the light in. Dirty breakfast area. Disappointing stay not four star at all.

The room was amazing and the view exceptional

We orderd room service with a ham anwich no mayonnaise and it came with mayo, we mentioned at departure and they wavered the room service charge.

Stayed several times - good location with easy access o Cardiff and the M4. Nice rooms, good golf facilities, spa pool etc.

The room was to cold!

Room facilities were excellent and check-in and check-out was efficient and staff were very professional but personable.

Breakfast staff appeared not well trained and paid little attention once guests were seated - apart from some sports team members who seemed to have no trouble in attracting their attention. There seemed no supervision and hence other guests were left unattended - i gave up waiting for extra tea! Whilst the staff were very young this is not an excuse for them to be poorly trained and unprofessional.

Excellent service, asked for early check in which was done readily. Was there for a wedding, excellent venue and superb breakfast

My husband was having surgery in the Vale Hospital that is within a short distance of the Vale Resort. I stayed at the resort, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, especially Fred the Conceierge who chauffered me too and from the hospital for which I am really grateful (not being a driver), also to the cleaning ladies who on the day my husband was discharged got our room ready even though they were busy elsewhere. I did manage to have a few restful hours relaxing, reading and enjoying the jacuzzi between visiting hours! Facilities are top notch. My room overlooked the lakes and golf course which again was peaceful and very pleasant. I would dearly love to return when my husband is fit and well to really enjoy what is a wonderful resort.

The rooms joined and were a fab size. The balconies were great and joined. It was like having an apartment.

No fridge. Breakfast bar was not well planned .... Everything in the same place... We stayed in the radison blu the same weekend and the breakfast was far superior with more choice better stocked and better designed

The staff were very good. The room was really comfortable and good space also balcony.. Great!

Staff were very obliging and pleasant throughout.The room was well presented with an excellent large bathroom.Ample parking. I had dinner which was very good,chosen from an interesting menu ( bar the caveat from the "did not like" section.)

The hotel seems to have a fairly rigid policy of only making rooms available at 3 p.m. My wife, who was not well, wanted to rest - a room was found at 2.30 but only after negotiation.Some may find the open plan restaurant lacking in intimacy and character.More to the point, the chef on view double dipped his tasting spoon into one of the pots.

Reception staff very pleasant

Bedroom was very cold & we had to ask twice to have the heating turned up, the bathroom had no heating at all & we had to have a heater brought up from housekeeping. Dimly lit bedrooms. Hotel is far too spaced out we found people aimlessly wandering around because they could not find their way to their room. Overcrowded breakfast room, we had to wait nearly 15 minutes for a table & then we had to sit in the bar area, yet we came to breakfast 1 hour before it ended. Late afternoon we requested a bite to eat in your quite lounge, but were told that we had to eat in the bar, which was over run with noisy children.

I felt the hotel was a little tired on places and in need of a facelift. Otherwise I really like staying there.

No fridge in room

The jacuzzi was lovely, and a manager dealt promptly with a frustrating issue.

Couldn't get hold of hotel for query after leaving many messages over a few weeks. In the end went through restaurant. Rang for milk in the evening that did not arrive, went down to breakfast to a huge queue but empty tables. Tepid bath water.

Lovely surroundings and pool.

Lunch at bar was disappointing. Food good but had to request table was cleared of dirty dishes. Majority of tables had left plates from previous diners. Very dirty looking and lazy staff. Hotel has a generally very dated look. Would choose st David's or Celtic manor over this hotel in the future. Shame really as such a nice location.

breakfast on both mornings was cold, a bit to far out from cardiff city centre taxi costs £27.00 each way. idea as a golfing weekend.

All staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, well furnished and extremely clean and tidy. The communal areas, bars and restaurant give a feeling of luxury.

Breakfast was warm but only just, we would have preferred food slightly hotter.

Lovely room although I was given my brothers room. Very friendly staff,peaceful relaxing time.

Booked in which was fine, however we were sent to the second floor room (212) walked in with all our bags only to find somebody else already in there (could have been embarassing) went back to reception to be given another room which turned out to be my brother and his families, couldn't face another trip to reception so we swapped.

my room was lovely, I adored it, I was cold on Saturday evening when I came to go to bed, but that was soon sorted out after I rang reception; hanging out with family the next day was good too, eating / drinking at the Bar ... the staff were friendly & helpful a good place for a wedding :-) Thank you

A bit cavernous -daunting to trek around

The rooms, the toiletries in the rooms and the gym. Also the fact that I can get radio 4 in the morning.
