Friendly and accommodation staffs. Lovely breakfast. Good wifi.
Shower/toilet is outside the room.
Very helpful and friendly staff, cater for early arrival on request. nice breakfast with choice on full English / Scottish breakfast or cereal/yoghurt. Quiet Location around ten minutes from main shopping street - Princes Street. Good bathroom, tea and coffee facilities. A good two night stay :-)
Just a point to note - Sloping celling on top floor room above bed and bright during night but was fine for the two of us.
Breakfast was excellent
Having no lift
I loved my stay there. The room was lovely and the staff were lovely. The free breakfast was very nice and very comprehensive. Lovely establishment
When I had to leave ;)
The smell in the hallways
Good location, staff very friendly, and very good english breakfast!!
Staff very friendly. Lovely breakfast each morning included in the price of our stay. Room very comfortable and warm.
double bed was 2 single beds pushed together.
The team was extremely nice and helpful - as soon as we arrived, we got a quick recap of all there was to see in Edinburgh, which was very much appreciated! The breakfast was excellent and gave us a taste of Scotland.. We tried haggis for the first time and loved it! The room was also very nice and comfortable. Bonus: if you pay in cash, then you get a 5% reduction on the cost of your stay. :)
Everything was great except for the wifi connexion. We were in room 34 on the 3rd floor and we could not manage to use the wifi neither on the computer nor on our phones.
Great hosts, very friendly! Great breakfast, good beds.
Shower,it was a very light water pressure. Window could not open unfortunatly. But this does not affect a next stay.
Close to transport (at front door), €9 euro taxi to Waverley station, 10 minute walk to royal mile and excellent hosts very very good breakfast provided.
Wonderful breakfast, very kind welcome and staff.
The windows are not double glazed...
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend this guest house to everyone.
I have no complaints at all.
comfy bed very nice and helpful staff very clean rooms and bathrooms good selection for breakfast
Simply loved our stay in Valentine Guest House. The accommodations are clean, comfortable and warm; The staff is very caring and kind, especially to Rob, the innkeeper, and Chris, the waiter who serves the breakfast. From what little I know of Europe, the breakfast of Valentine Guest House is undoubtedly the best of all.
Unfortunately, the period we stayed there, the Wi Fi did not work in our room, which is on the third floor. My daughter had to sit on the stairs to get to talk to her boyfriend on the internet ...
The location is excellent! It's a short walk to a lot of main attractions in Edinburgh, and also very close to tram & bus stops. Breakfast was always hot & fresh every morning, cooked to order. The owners were very helpful, especially when we discovered we were late for our flight!! They checked us out right away, and called a taxi for us.
Location, breakfast, staff
Bed - asked for a double but got two singles pushed next to each other with a mattress cover over the gap, WiFi was not great upstairs
good accommodation. Our room was large, clean and silent. We had a very good Breakfast (included in the price) and good time here. Staff willing to help, polite and not intrusive. Good value.
Hosts. Food. Location. Bus services.
Not a lot.
good location, very central great breakfast lovely staff
very small room not much care of details rooms could be nicer and more accurated---renovation needed
staff booked a taxi for us for 6.15am to train for Ryder cup. nervous that it wouldn't show. It was there @ 6.00am
no staff living on premises. would have liked security on knowing they were on the premises, however their number was available
Rob, Vicky and Chris were fabulously welcoming and personable. Really enjoyed interacting with them at the Guest House. They were always up for a chat and suggestions. Good breakfasts, as well.
wi-fi was poor on the top floor
The room and en suite bathroom were spotlessly clean. It was within walking distance of the castle and Princes Street, etc. and buses stop nearby. The muesli at breakfast was delicious with huge tasty nuts, oats and dried fruit.
We were on the top floor with no lift. It all needed sprucing up a bit as it looked tired and dated. The bed was very uncomfortable. The location was within walking distance of the castle, etc, but it was in rather a shabby, run-down area. The cooked breakfast looked good but it was all luke warm and never hot! We could hear quite a lot of sound from adjoining rooms.
The stuff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent, The location was pretty good.
The room facilities: the beds were uncomfortable, the shower had a very weak stream. There was no table in the room. Very thin walls.
Location was perfect with their own bus stop outside the door! Vicky and Rob very friendly and helpful and at breakfast they even have a singing waiter! See you again next year! :-)
