Best Western Valley Hotel  

Location central to Ironbridge with several attractions within walking distance. An interesting hotel layout and facilities and friendly staff made for an enjoyable stay.

Great location for exploring the fascinating Ironbridge gorge. The iron bridge is a short stroll away along the bank of the River Severn and all the attractions are within an energetic day's walk. Hotel staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and dinner menus varied and prepared to a high standard.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is quite lovely with it's unique tiles, which are part of the areas history. Despite the power station being nearby it was shielded by the trees. The food was great.

Good Location, Great Breakfast

Could do with some cash investment - needs bringing up to the level of charges - I paid £95 per night - more like £65 hotel . The queen size bed was the worst I have ever had to sleep on -- very hard :o( The Service however was excellent

Quiet riverside location close to all the attractions of the Ironbridge Gorge area

The view from our bedroom window over the gorge with beautiful trees and flowers in the well maintained garden. Excellent breakfasts and service, although coffee was only lukewarm so went on to hot tea!!. (Full English). Loved the history of the hotel - being a Darby home and later the Maws - both great links with the area. The hotel should promote this fact more - we found one display in the stables area but none in the main hotel apart from one photo on our floor. The very helpful receptionist lent us the hotel history reference book on our last day.

The extremely creaky floorboards above our room woke us very early every morning and interfered with our late afternoon rest. We were unable to change rooms unless we lost our view. Being seated near the door away from main area for dinner on our first night when the rest of the restaurant was empty apart from one group of 6. We were well dressed in expensive clothes and are mature people. This affected our planned decision to eat dinner (excellent by the way) in the hotel for the next 2 nights so we ate in Ironbridge instead where we were made to feel very welcome at The Maltings.

The relaxed friendly atmoshere. Access to Dale End Park and the river walk. Closeness to historic Ironbridge. The options above do not really cover these aspects.

Althogh comfortable the room was a little small

This hotel was used as a wedding venue for a friend which was the sole reasoning for staying here. On arrival the staff proved themselves to be exceptionlly friendly and pleasant. However, disppointment set in when we found our room. Athough I had booked a double room we were allocated a room with a 'queensized' bed, i.e. 2 single beds with a big sheet. There was also a distinct lack of natural light; the only window (small) looked out on to an internal corridor. The bathroom was pleasant enough, although it was nigh on impossibel to get into the shower without smashing the glass 'curtain' against the sink. Dispite this critique of the hotel, in all it was a possitive experience.

heel kleine kamer, zonder veel daglicht. er werd een buffet voor trouwerij voor onze deur gehouden.. lawaaiig. Wifi werkte meer dan niet dan wel.Slechte prijs/kwaliteitverhouding. door weinig raam te kunnen openen benauwde kamer met "luchtje".

Not a lot - I will never stay there again

It has zero mobile phone coverage - rubbish - it should not be allowed to be a hotel
