he staff are wonderful and helpful
The bathroom is so small that it will be difficult to bath a baby there. I had to open that doors to have access to wash my feet because there was no way i would been able to bend down without my head hitting the wall or door
Stayed for 3 nights. Warm and homely, staff were all pleasant and welcoming. Even though the hotel was busy with Christmas parties I did not feel neglected and, the owner himself made a point of introducing himself and, have time for a chat. Both the included breakfast and purchased evening meal were excellent and, they did not stint on portions. The room was more than adequate and, OK it may not be to be to everyone's taste, but it was clean, warm and comfortable, I have no qualms. It would be difficult to find anywhere else that offered such good value for the price. I would recommend Vallum House to anyone.
Not really a complaint , but it would have been nice for the room to be en suite,
very friendly staff
The staff were really friendly and the facilities were brilliant for the money. Will definitely recommend
Great food very friendly staff
Location and quietness of the environment
breakfast was brilliant room was clean and functional, served its purpose for a one night stay.would surely use vallum house again.
shared facilities......but for one night no real issue.
quietness for sleep
couldnt do an early breakfast
Staff are very helpful and does not interfere with residents .The place is neat.
Old fashion television and I tried to turn it own but it was not working properly. I did not bother to ask because it puts me off apart from that every thing is up to standard
Staff were friendly Excellent welcome.
Fan very noisy and covered in dust in bathroom.W.C base needed cleaned.Handle fell of wardrobe door.Soap dish in shower if you touched it then it fell off,low water pressure in shower. This was room 11
Made to feel welcome on arrival. Plenty of off-road parking. Quiet location yet very convenient for city centre and easy access from western ring road. Hearty breakfast set us up for the morning.
Mattress a little soft for my taste but this is personal preference.
Staff very accomodating. I was afraid my teenage daughter was too large for the 3rd bed in our room. It was a tight fit, but we appreciated being allowed to stay together and save money. This property is right on the street in the middle of a neighborhood, and the pub is the local gathering place for games and quizzes. Charming, but in a middle class, everyday, English way. Reminded me of B&B's from 25yrs ago. Chintz, siamese cat figurines and odd, old-fashioned electronics, but very clean and comfortable.
Had to unplug something to plug in the kettle or our cellphone chargers.
We arrived late and they had set a table up so we could still eat which was so thoughtful. The food was absolutely amazing, clearly home cooked and great value for money. Nothing was too much trouble, all the staff were friendly and there was such a relaxing atmosphere. We loved our stay.
Sharing a bathroom, however for the price it was to be expected.
the breakfast was fantastic quality
price of drinks in the bar
Quite, breakfast and cost
Very friendly staff do anything to help good breakfast to start the day with
Clean and comfortable with nice staff.
Style a bit dated and tired.
V friendly staff - comfortable stay & fantastic food.
Cheap accommodation in a quiet location - the countryside is a few minutes walk up the road. I couldn't wait for breakfast as I had to be on the road early so a breakfast tray was provided in my room. Not gourmet food but loads of it.
Lots! Plenty of free parking, easy to find, welcoming, we asked for redbush tea in advance and they got it in specially for us, good facilities, dinner served till 9 pm well cooked and generous portions, bar, good breakfast, super value
TV hard to use in one of our rooms, not easy to plug kettle in
Very friendly reception and staff. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent in both quality and value.
Furnishings and decor looking a bit tired. Maybe time for a spot of redecoration and refurnishing.
Owners were very friendly and obliging to requests. Food was very good.
Lack of space for suitcase
Room was spacious and clean. In a fairly quiet location, good parking area. Breakfast very good and staff friendly and helpful
Breakfast was served in the bar area, would have preferred the dining room, because there was more room.
helpful staff, let me leave my car for 4 days, whilst I was cycling coast to coast. Let me have a shower when I returned. good value for money
basic facilities that could do with modernising.
