Situated in the heart of Oxford city centre, The Bocardo is a boutique-style luxury accommodation in the shopping district of George Street, and directly above a Jamie Oliver restaurant.

This peaceful, elegant hotel with a country-manor style is a 10-minute walk from Oxford city centre. It has a restaurant and bar, a cosy lounge, and pleasant guest bedrooms.
Score from 700 reviews Very good
One of the few hotels right in the heart of Oxford, and moreover an absolutely excellent hotel. Stylish rooms, very friendly staff, attentive & helpful, and a nice breakfast. Only a few minutes walk from the bus station. A perfect place to stay.
The shower was lovely, strong water pressure
It felt a little odd that we were on the ground floor, by the road. Next time I would ask for a different room
Breakfast excellent. Clean, and adjustable heating was good. Excellent central location.
Disabled bathroom was a bit odd and water flowed everywhere from the shower. Mirrors were OK if you are in a wheelchair but not high enough if you are not. I am not disabled. Lights in bedroom did not direct light to the desk nor (very well) to the reading end of the bed!
Everything was good!!
Location is superb, albeit we got the train so no car issue. Right in the middle - shops and sights on your doorstep. Lovely old building, decorated in nice way.
Room fractionally small for the price - you're paying for location and appearance, not size of room!
Friendly staff, rooms are small but equipped with pretty and comfortable furniture. The hotel is located in the very heart of Oxford
Central location in Oxford Glass of Prosecco on arrival a nice touch
Small double room tucked away at back of hotel with a wall for a view (room 3) Television on console at end of bed placed in middle of room Standard "travel lodge" breakfast fare with cereal packets, cheap packet sliced bread, single-serve flora Overpriced No easy parking
staff could not be more helpful
We were upgraded to the oxford union suite which is at the front of hotel. We were woken to Jessie J blasting out from some night spot at 3am , nothing against her , just not at 3am.then at 3.20 the revellers come walking past the worst for wear and very noisy At 6.00 a delivery lorry unloads ..ahhh
Wonderful staff - friendly, charming, helpful, couldn't have done more. Lovely rooms, comfy bed, nice en suite, spotlessly clean. Fantastic location. Great food - marvellous veggie cooked breakfast!
What's not to like?!
Fantastic location, lovely friendly staff. Will definitely recommend.
Well located good breakfast friendly staff
The single room is miniscule
Comfort of the room. Friendliness of staff.
Overall the price of the accommodations was somewhat out of sync with the value received.
Staff. Nice, friendly, helpful. Great location. Clean. Nice place, but not really for elders, as the staircase was high and there was no elevator.
1. Problems with accepting MasterCard - be aware!!! You may end up running around to find an ATM. 2. The room was tiny and very simple - not really what you expect after having paid over 200 pounds/night! Not enough shelves, no place to put your cosmetics in the bath room (had to store them under TV...), wardrobe door would close itself automatically so taking anything that hung there was problematic. 3. Breakfast was served as in a restaurant. Sometimes, you'd have to wait 15mins for it, and if you're in hurry - bad luck.
Such a great place! Lovely staff, nice breakfast options, lovely complimentary mini bar items, comfy bed, beautiful decor, spacious ensuite. We'd definitely stay again!
Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Mima!! She is the best!!! The room on the 1st floor was facing the street and it was very loud and noisy during the night. Quite a shame, since it is such a nice room!!! Other than that, thumbs up!!! I will for sure come again...
Room was lovely. Staff very helpful. Breakfasts are very tasty
No Parking. You have to park in park and ride and taxis in Oxford are terrible. A bit pricey
Exceptional staff attention to details and awareness of guests needs.
Lack of car parking. Can there not be a concession for the hotel guests in a nearby carpark? Otherwise good advice re parking given out by staff before arrival.
The room was lovely and spacious and the breakfast was very good
The location is great for the daytime but it is quite noisy at night. We had a room at the front of the hotel and were kept awake by all manner of noises including early morning deliveries
Location Breakfast Friendly, helpful staff
I booked at short notice and stayed in a single room. I was pleasantly surprised the room was relatively spacious (for a single), clean and quiet, all you need when travelling away for work. The location is excellent for central Oxford. I ate at the restaurant in the evening with a colleague and the food was good and the choice for breakfast was equally good. What made a refreshing change was the attitude of the staff, everyone I had an exchange with was pleasant and helpful. Will definitely book again.
Only one minor point, the shower screen was on a roller and the door came off when I pulled it shut! It was very difficult to put back on again…...
Beautiful location and just a lovely place to relax.
The position ...so central ; relaxing décor Perfect bolt hole after a hard day
Location was great as was the staff at the front desk. Lovely, comfortable rooms with some personality.
The breakfast staff was not "on" like front desk staff. I had three breakfasts there and none went particularly smoothly - lost ticket, forgotten coffee, etc.
Friendly, helpful staff. Very approachable. Comfortable rooms, with extra touches you don't get in bigger hotel chains. Complimentary mini fridge was great and white company toiletries, nice touch!
Breakfast room is small and 'intimate', but a fab quality full breakfast was served
