Really helpful, non-evasive staff.

Room was appointed opposite other wing of hotelk so light was not very good and there was no view at all (though we didn't ask for a view either to be fair). The room was very tired, but in fairness also very large. During our stay (3 nights) we had problems with no hot water on one of the mornings and the steam room was out of order throughout the entire stay - disappointing as we booked this hotel mainly for price but also for the sauna and steam room.

Absolutely everything! Even though we unfortunately only stayed for one evening - the whole 'Vermont' experience is one that shall remain with me forever - a must for everyone and we already planning our next visit.

There was nothing that we did NOT like during our visit!

Very comfortable bed, the room was spacious and airy. Polite and cheerful staff Good food - had breakfast and lunch. Also afternoon scones which were very good - see opposite for comment. Not specific to the hotel, I loved the city and think the quayside and bridges are fabulous - certainly hope to come again

Ordered tea and scones, but wasn't told that the scones would be baked fresh and so became irritated by the wait. If I'd been advised at the time of ordering I could just have sat back & relaxed. Bedroom décor was rather dull and a mish-mash of fabric patterns

Service was excellent.The bar was lovely with a piano player and comfortable attractive furnishings.

The restaurant was closed for decoration. Our room was dark.

I liked everything. First, I stayed there with my daughter. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff, to a person, was superb. Didn't know what to expect, but couldn't have asked for better.

Nothing. The only confusion was learning which floor led to which exit. This was the cause for humor (laughing at ourselves) rather than frustration. :)

Loved the new look of the Redwood Bar. The view from our window was fantastic. Staff nice and friendly too.

Toilet did not work very well

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great views from bedroom. Fantastic location for Newcastle quayside.

Fire alarm sounded at 2 am (due to someone smoking in their room) room was very hot and quilt was too thick for season.

Clean Hotel

Old fashion rooms deco poor bar Prices poor Breastfast is very poor serving from the hot store that was cold, for a hotel they should bring your breakfast to you not help yourself to lots of cold and fattie foods.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable and clean.

No iron/iron board in the room (bit poor for a 4 star hotel). Lack of tea and coffee for the tea-making facilities. Banging of something (door?) throughout the night/early morning.

The staff were very welcoming & friendly.

Our room was on the 9th floor with train tracks right outside of the window, there were trains passing all of the way through the night, due to this we were unable to get any sleep at all!

Spacious room. Free parking. Location. Quiet.

Breakfast expensive AND of poor quality. This is a once-grand hotel, now fading. I prefer it to the typical budget chain offering, but be aware that it's a bit tired. (To be fair, it seems renovations have started.) If the price is right I would stay at the Vermont again though.

The professionalism and friendliness the staff showed at all times. The feeling of luxury and comfort too.
