Hotel VictoriaEast St, TR7 1DB Newquay (Show map) Good, Score from 141 reviews“The sheer grandeur and original character of the building was fantastic. We loved the way the Hotel had been decorated and furnished in keeping with it's Victorian roots. The staff were happy, pleasant and most helpful. We asked for a room with a sea view and WOW that's exactly what we got, it was awesome! All in all it made our weekend in Newquay a time we'll remember for a long long time to come.”

The check in staff were lovely, couldnt fault rhe friendliness & helpfullness, we also we also enjoyed the lovely pool and sauna. When breakfast finally arrived it was nice. We were completely ignored at breakfast and after 20 minutes of waiting paitently had to ask for somebody to take our order which is not what you expect at a hotel like this. There was also no hot water in the morning I had to have a freezing cold shower which is not the nicest way to start the day!

The original decor and the pictures depicting significant history of the hotel. Friendly staff and good facilities. Closeness to the town and the beaches was handy too. Too hot !! It was mild outside, and having worked in the hotel industry (facilities & services engineer) I know the costs of heating a building of this size. There was no need to have the heating running at high temperatures when outside it is in double figures outside (teens) They could do a little for the environment and a lot for their wallets !!.

The hotel, location & views were great. Was lovely to relax in the sauna etc, which was clean. Staff were friendly.Breakfast was nice & was cooked to order. Very relaxing stay. Having to pay extra to park the car was a bit of rip off. !!

Staff were very friendly, hotel was stunning. Only issue was that the heating inside our room was not working and it took 3 hours to bring a portable heater up, other than that, awesome! The Chinese restaurant across the road is not good, (nothing to do with the hotel though) food was cold and no value for money

The pool area The gym was just a room with no window and some equipment did not work. The hotel does not seem to invest at all. Washing machine and lift to beach was broken as well. Poor service at breakfast....school boys as personell who had not a clue of good service....overall does not deserve three stars in my opinion.

Building itself is impressive, the receptionist upon our arrival (Friday night around 1am) was very helpful and friendly Breakfast is horrible, you don't have a buffet just so called "a la carte" which has a very poor choice (if you're a vegetarian, better take your own food).the promised (and extra paid of course) room with the ocean view, supposed to have a big terras with the view on the ocean. Instead it had a very small window and the ocean was hardly visible...rooms are old and have a strange smell, like in the old church.ventilator in the bathroom was so loud that it was impossible to stay there longer than a short while.there was no shower, just a horrible bath.we had to bath in the dark...lift-don't ever use it!dangerous!for the features it offers it's expensive

I booked a room with a see viev which was my big mistake.Paid 100 pounds per night. The room was very small with a very old furniture. Breakfast was served in a small portion. I would not recommend to other travellers.

I booked a single room which was upgraded to a double for free. Excellent spa facilities (pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi), friendly and polite staff, onsite parking, room clean comfortable and spacious, good breakfast. Decore a little tired in places, but you would have to look for it. If you have a room at the front of the hotel you will not be able to get an early night friday or saturday if you have your window open,as there is a pub with a live band opposite and a nightclub next door.

I thought the staff were very efficient, very friendly and very helpful. Room service and all requests were dealt with very quickly. Overall I had a very pleasant stay at 'Vic hotel' and I would most def stay again. Thanks to the staff that looked after us. Oh and before I forget the steak Diane I ordered for room service was lovely too I think the 'spa' could do with updating. The showers were not very hot and there were a few bugs (i know hard to avoid) in and around the pool. Also the steam room was not very pleasant. Aprt from that it was my time in the 'spa' was ok. Having said that I did spend a few hours down there so I must have liked it. Great view of the sea from the jacuzzi.

Just needed a single room for one night and this fitted the bill perfectly. Room had recently been refurbished and the bathroom/shower was spotless. Price was good at £45 including a good breakfast. £5 parking charge was made though. I didn't use the facilities so unable to comment, but the bar and lounge areas looked clean and comfortable.

I love old hotels and this one, although a bit tired in the communal areas, far exceeded my expectations of a 3* hotel. The bedroom and linen were absolutely pristine. Food was great. Attentive staff that made my family all feel very welcome. Great leisure facilities was a bonus. Definately coming back.

Classic place, architecture, setting, great views of coast. Hope the elevator gets attention soon seems dodgy and that they will open the tunnel to and from the beach. The stair case is beautiful to go up and down as they did 100years or so ago. Great place all in all. Food and service was very good.
